G60Dan 0 Posted August 23, 2004 I'm looking to fit an intercooler that's 66cm long & 12.25cm thick behind the grill, here - (will relocate the horns) (sorry for pic size) Question is, will it fit? Not had time to measure. it's the bigger one. 11.5 cm high (top to bottom) 66cm long to its furthest opposing points 12.25cm deep (front to back) 45.5cm actual core length. RACK 0 Posted August 23, 2004 Is that from an RS Turbo??
G60Dan 0 Posted August 23, 2004 no, a 4x4 cossie - no ford jokes, they won't make my car go faster!
RACK 0 Posted August 23, 2004 I'm sure one of these IC's has been fitted to a polo G40, so I guess there would be enough room, at the front of the C.
G60Dan 0 Posted August 23, 2004 LOL! and I thought there was going to be a ford dig there :) I don't mind having to trim the front pannel a little if need be with the trusty dremel! but need to know if it will touch the rad more than anything.
olly elworthy 0 Posted August 23, 2004 hey are those cossie ones charge cooled aswell? just i could see an approx 15MM pipe coming out the top of that cooler, if so could be really efficeit,, as for fitting get yer bumper off and have a butchers,,, may be a good mod, see loasa these coolers on ebay
G60Dan 0 Posted August 24, 2004 I made up a template last night. The 4x4 cossie (the bigger) one isn't going to fit in front of the rad. My I think I'll buy a 2wd cossie (the smaller) one and use that. They are good coolers, a lot of the RST boys put them on their RS's. If these do fit, it would prove a relatively cheap upgrade for those with a G60, as these coolers are quite common, so don't cost much!
mark28G60 0 Posted August 24, 2004 Dan, Is that cooler actually any bigger than the standard one as the cubic capacity looks about the same? Mark
G60Dan 0 Posted August 24, 2004 Not sure, here are the measurements: 2wd: 10 cm high (top to bottom) 60cm long to its furthest opposing points 10cm deep (front to back) 41cm actual core length. It does have a bigger surface area though, and will also be in a better position for cooling, so has to be an improvement over std.
G60Dan 0 Posted August 24, 2004 also, what do you think about this? It's a GTi-R std cooler I haven't got the sizes, but looks like it should fit. What do you reckon?
W3RKD 0 Posted August 24, 2004 the cossie ones dont fit well in the corrado front. if i were you and u want to use somthing from another vechicle i wouls go for a renualt traffic / vahxual movano intercooler, these fit in nicely one the headers are modded the flow very nice too.
