stormseeker 0 Posted September 20, 2004 come on, someone must know how to do this easily on a C. Not sure this qualifies as "easily" - this link is Japanese to English translated version... http://www.oichan.org/mods/in/shift/shorts_e.htm  Perhaps someone who's had the shift mechanism apart before might be able to understand it! Ok I've just took time to study the above linkage mod. It looks to me that the amount of throw reduction is very minimal and by moving the linkage by hand it doesn't look much at all. On top of this you have to remove the weight and that would probably make things worse. Ok it might be an easier mod but spending time on the gear stick assembly mod would be much more worth while. Fairzy 0 Posted September 24, 2004 daves16v - Very interested mate - keep us posted. Do all VR6s have a weighted linkage? ('94)
Kevin Bacon 5 Posted September 24, 2004 Yes. Though not as big or as effective as the huge one the MK3 Golf VR6 got. Space restrictions in the Corrado prevents the use of the MK3 one, especially if you've got the larger washer resevoir for headlight washers.
daves16v 1 Posted September 24, 2004 kevhaywire, could extra steel be added to the existing weight? Just a thought.
Kevin Bacon 5 Posted September 24, 2004 Dave, a block of lead could easily be added to the existing weight. Just need to be careful with chassis leg clearance.
