Rhodri 0 Posted September 23, 2004 Hi guys i have recently bought a totally standrd 95 model 2.0 16v Corrado. It has done 58,000 miles. I am looking to get some more power. Where should i start ? I have tried looking for an induction kit but have had no luck so far. What is the best sounding Exhaust system and what manifolds can i get? Nice one lads
aposegil 0 Posted September 23, 2004 Here we go again lol   Induction kits can be put on 16v's due to the fact that they run mechanical fuel system so best thing to get is a K&N airfiler and drill the airbox towards the front of it :D along with removing the snorkle Xhuast there is Magnex Miltek and Scorpion that do off the shelf but listening to people comments here I would get in contact with John (16vg60) on the forum and order your exhuast as its excellent quality and very quiet. Otherwise custom builtone to your choice Engine wise there a few things you can do depends on ur funds :D
Rhodri 0 Posted September 23, 2004 Well i am looking to spend around £2500 - £3000 so what sort of engine setup would this get me ?
kebabman 0 Posted September 23, 2004 A VR6 lump
Eug 0 Posted September 23, 2004 Yeah just put a VR6 engine in. Seems a waste to buy a 16V and then spend £3K extra - could always sell the 16V and use the extra £3K to buy a VR6 or a G60 rather ?
aide 0 Posted September 23, 2004 Rhodri welcome to the forum - if your looking for serious power then you need a transplant..... then you can sell your 2.0 bottom end to me :D
olly elworthy 0 Posted September 23, 2004 depends how much power you want,, just dropping a vr6 in is not gonna help you that much, especially as most of the donor engines are such high mileage and these fragile units will require a rebiuld before fitting, sending your costs up,, easiest mod to start with on a 2 litre 16v is to get some KR cams in there from a 1.8,, and as you say a new exhaust, maybe even a 4 branch manifold too, spend the rest of your money on handling and other performance related modifications,,
kebabman 0 Posted September 23, 2004 VR6 not much more powerful than a 2.0 16v? Mines done 126k and it pulls damn well
dannyp01 0 Posted September 23, 2004 Turbocharge your 2.0 16v
ben16v 0 Posted September 23, 2004 Rhodri, i`d keep that car standard and spend the money on another car, it seems a shame to modify such a rare beauty... put some pics up mate
Rhodri 0 Posted September 23, 2004 I will be putting some pics up in the next couple of weeks. It has got to got to the body shop first as the guy who i bought it off (a good freind of mine) scrtatched the front wing while reverse parking :x . And i want a couple of bits done to it aswell : M3 style clusters Front eyebrowse and some clear side repeaters. How much are a set of those KR cams ? I should have said aswell that i am not spending all that money on the engine (cosmetics etc aswell) Thanks for the help and suggestions guys

STORM 2 0 Posted September 23, 2004 yellow- did you get round to posting the oilcooler details?
yellowslc 0 Posted September 23, 2004 No sir I did not.. work has me running around like a fool.. 7 projects to close out in 6 weeks.. guys lining up at the house for engine work on top of that.. I shall be shipping phat's kit to him the second another part arrives. He will be doing a UK based installation guide (to ensure that nothing over there is different than over here). I'm also working on a broader options list. Choice of -8 or -10 coolers/lines, etc etc.. R
STORM 2 0 Posted September 23, 2004 OK mate, whenever you get a chance - I ll see what Phat makes of it when he's stopped being so secretive about his rebuild :)
