  1. I'm afraid so Lanny, it had to go to make way for something more practical. There was no way my wife was selling her Audi A3.. so I had to part with my pride and joy  . I now drive a jeep Cherokee  Still, I now manage to fit 3 mountain bikes in the back and I don't mind the dirt getting everywhere but I do miss the Corrado.
  2. Here's some info on a couple of cars that recently sold here in Aberdeen including my one. Mine - 1995 M VR6, 100K, FSH, leather interior pretty much immaculate, bodywork outstanding, sold it a couple of weeks ago for 4700. Friends - 1992 K VR6, 85K, FSH, leather interior immaculate, been sitting for 6 months+ and needed calipers freed, bodywork good but needs a couple of areas touched up. Nice car - 3500. So realistically I'd say its worth somewhere between those two prices.......
  3. Any driver who speeds up when you try to overtake them.... Any driver who sits on your bumper on the motorway when you are in the fast lane overtaking .... Any driver who thinks that because you drive (used to in my case) a VR6 you must be "up for it" all the time..... or the horrid yellow mini cooper that I would meet some mornings on my way to work. If he was behind me he would sit right on my bumper and try to pass at any opportunity. I only took him on once and ended up late for work because of it but boy did I show him.....
  4. 330 - 350 miles on Optimax with mostly town driving and some dual carriageway driving too. Thats with the needle almost sitting on the bump stop at each fill up. Paul VR6 (last day of ownership :( )
  5. Chris - I'm pretty sure it was a standard fit on all VR's but was never very effective at stopping the front wheels spinning. I also have a '95 VR and have had problems with wheelspin ever since I got it 3 years ago. The best form of traction control is your right foot.... :? But where is the fun in that??
  6. I will be picking up a 96 jeep cherokee on wednesday and in answer to your points a) My wife has a 1.8T A3 which I am hopefully going to chip if she agrees but as Roddy will testify I've been comparing it with my Corrado quite a bit and it doesn't come close as a drivers car. b) I've been trying desperately to justify buying a 4x4 and keep the Corrado for weeks now, failing miserably each time I think I've come up with a solution. c) I am still planning on using the Corrado sites and attending meets as an ex Corrado owner because its just a "temporary Coraddo-less situation" I'm in.
  7. Hi Ross There are quite a few guys from Aberdeen on this forum and Roddy Kennedy (VR6Storm) is the area co-ordinator for the Corrado Club GB. I believe he is organizing a meeting for end of April or beginning of May which you should try and make. Last year about 12 cars turned up. I'm sure Roddy will see this and pass on some info. I own a 95 VR6 (M7 DSP in case you have seen it around) but only for another couple of days as it is being picked up by its new owner on Wednesday and will be heading to Glasgow. :( Cheers Paul
  8. .......showing your car to a possible buyer. Hi all Had a good day out on Saturday at the Aberdeen mini meet to show JoeM my VR6. We managed to shake on a deal and the car will be heading west to Glasgow on Wednesday this week. Hardest decision of my life so far was to sell the VR, it will be sadly missed. However as you can possibly tell by the title of this thread the day wasn't completely uneventful. I had Joe in the passenger seat of my car, pointing out the features and having a bit of corrado chit chat when my phone went. Not remembering where I placed the phone I started to look round the cabin (we're sitting in slow to dead stop traffic) when all of a sudden Joe shouts out and I look up just in time to see myself drive into the back of a ford escort!!! Feck! To make matters worse it was Roddy (VR6Storm) on the phone asking which direction we had gone, so it was your fault Roddy ... Luckily the escort had the old style black plastic deformable bumpers and coupled with the slow speed meant that there was not a mark on my car but a lot of colour in my cheeks. I managed to take quite a few photos of the 4 corrados assembled and will post some of them later this week. Thanks to Specialist Cars in Aberdeen for allowing us into their new and as yet unopened facility to allow us a decent venue for taking photos. cheers paul
  9. I passed a moonlight blue N plate VR6 last night on the way back from yours Roddy. Didn't recognise the reg so could be yet another C in the area.

    engine

If the engine is otherwise running ok it could be your throttle cable. My VR has the same symptoms which has been diagnosed as a knackered cable. Been told this is a common fault on Corrados.
