Try these pages. Not sure if they're what you were looking for though.......................... http://www.rimstock.co.uk/visualiser/pa ... orrado.asp http://www.tyrespot.co.uk/Powersurge/news.html (not running just yet)

This was a rumour for a while but 'apparently' someone at Audi has stated that the RS name will be for A4 and A6 models only. The S name will be for all models and should include an S3 late next year with between 280 and 300 bhp. I've been keeping my ear to the ground hoping an S3 sportback gets built.

Jedi I don't think you'll find a 225 model for under £14K unless it's got starship (we built this city.... ) mileage. Go for a low mileage immaculate 210 one and have it chipped by a reputable company. There's plenty of them out there. Buyers guide here http://www.tyresmoke.net/ubbthreads/sho ... e/0#223858 Try this place for a good selection. They're also Revo chip suppliers http://www.fontain.co.uk/stocklist.asp Also have a look on here, it's not the most popular forum but I found a lot of good info when my wife looked at getting one http://www.rs246.com/index.php?name=PNp ... wforum&f=3 and I think someone already mentioned this one http://www.audi-sport.net/ubbthreads/po ... Has to be the Enzo for me please in black

I think he must be talking about the 3000 GTO which was twin turbo'd..........
-
Surely Shome Mishtake! That car is worth £8K minimum all day long. I'd say It's either a damage repairable or a mistake with the price.
-
Seems to be a reasonable price. Volkswizard have a G60 syncro for sale at £3500 just now. http://www.volkswizard.co.uk/carsforsale/h889xab.htm

I can't rate admiral highly enough. I only moved 18 months ago because my bank bettered the deal by quite a bit. 4 1/2 years ago I was smacked head on by a boy racer in a Nova jumping a red light and my car needed substantial repairs to the front (immaculate E30 325i convertible). The car value was 6K and the repair costs were just under 4K but they went ahead and repaired it at one of Aberdeen's best body shops and gave me a hire car. Excellent service.

Excellent job Paul. Believe it or not the guy Mike you bought it off had an oak green mk2 16v before the Corrado. He'd have loved what you've done with it. 8)

Here's my tuppence worth.... If you're thinking of spending money on a transplant I'd just go for a 1988 onwards 250hp turbo. A mate of mine has run one for about 18 months now and it's been bullet proof and it's plenty fast in standard form. Porsche always seem to make every single BHP accessible. Ok, MPG isn't great (avg 22) but he does less than 3K a year so isn't an issue. Servicing is also fairly cheap these days using specialists, he gets and oil change and check up done at a Porsche garage every 6 months and does the rest himself (he's a mechanic after all). The car has done 130K and is still on it's original turbo and I can testify that it is still sweet as a nut. I wouldn't mind one myself.

Yeah, it's Moscow. Here's the story from the BeeEmm driver http://www.m5board.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=44988

Mmmm! Yes and no VW have been overcharging for their cars for years but then so has the whole car industry (UK anyway). GTi is a global brand recognised by most car enthusiasts as VW. People have been willing to pay a premium for this brand since the 70's even when the slow mk3 8v and mk4 non turbo GTi were trashed in the press as floaty boats. Yes, there are cheaper alternatives out there but they don't have the history or the kudos that the GTi brand has; this, coupled with the fact that VW's image people cannot be seen to price their cars to compete with Honda, seat, Skoda etc, means that prices will be high. Finally, judging by how many new A3's I see around Aberdeen the new GTi will sell like hot cakes.
-
Playing Devils Advocate here but............... If you take it in 3 door (better re-sale). Standard 6 speed (you're still paying for new technology with DSG and you can't get it in 3 door) and keep the standard 17" alloys (18's will probably ruin the ride and handling). Stick with the pretty decent looking cloth interior (who REALLY needs leather? and you end up with a car at a similar price to the mk3 VR6 Golf when it was top of the Golf pile. I think VW have pitched the new GTi at a similar level to the VR6 a few years back. The 8v and 16v Golfs were a good bit cheaper and todays cheaper sporty versions are the FSI models. God! I hope that makes sense, it does in my head anyway :?

I would have to say for sheer ability my pals RS4 comes close. The only times I've driven it it's been pouring down and the car didn't bat an eyelid. My Corrado VR6 is also up there. But my all time favourite so far was my 1st car. A 1972 1100cc mini with flared arches, 10 x 6 White Wella wheels, flared arch extensions, no bumpers and a bucket drivers seat. That car was quick, bouncy, handled like only original Mini's can and is still the most fun I've ever had in a car. I could drive the 15 miles from Stonehaven to Aberdeen over the back country roads without touching the brakes...... :D
-
Yeah Rodders, that'll be the same one. It was on standard wheels for a while then 5 spoke 17's (I think :?: ). It was brought over from Germany about 4 years ago and he ran it himself for a while.
-
I know this car well. Almost bought it off my mate who is a car dealer in Stonehaven and has a source in Germany for getting interesting cars like that. The seat belts are pretty trick 8) and it really suits those wheels.

I'm assuming your looking at a T Sport Quattro then? My wife's car is a T Sport but only has the standard 150BHP engine. The T Sport Quattro was upgraded to 180BHP to allow for the extra weight of the quattro system. I think the FWD models remaned at 150bhp but correct me if I'm wrong  Drop me a PM if you want extra info on running costs etc for a FWD T Sport.
-
Scott If you have to make the change then go for the S3, don't go for the T Sport! My wife has run a T Sport for 2 years and although it is a very nice car to drive, run and own it is nowhere near the Corrado for driving enjoyment. We ran the Audi along side my VR6 for 12 month before I sold the C :( and they are like chalk and cheese, night and day. The Audi is capable, reasonably quick, smooth and very well built but has absolutely no soul whatsoever and believe me this counts for a lot if you've owned a VR6 for any length of time. The S3 is just as soul-less, however it covers ground at an alarming rate in any weather which makes up for the lack of soul (just) and is why I'm trying to persuade the missus to changer her T Sport for one. And my final 2p's worth - DON'T DO IT - KEEP THE C (you'll just regret it)
-
Damn fine car mate. 8) Just makes me miss my old VR even more... In my humble opinion you should leave it as it is except for lowering it and doing the subtle mods you mentioned above. It's now rare to see a standard car in that condition.
-
I always new the engine in that car was sweet Joe. How you getting on with the diff??

Anyone recognise this wheel/tyre combo and/or the car?
paul replied to stormseeker's topic in Engine Bay
One of the directors at my company just fitted these wheels to his Carrera 4. The bill came to just under £4K without tyres.... -
Pete - I looked into this option a couple of years ago and one of the bigger local car accessories shops here in Aberdeen (Checkpoint) quoted me a grand for 16" and about £1200 for the 17" Speedlines. Like you I wanted larger wheels without changing the overall look but in the end stuck with the original 15's.
