  1. Firstly welcome and congratulations on buy a really nice car 😊 I have a G60 the same colour but mine is on a H plate. That puddle of water by the clutch pedal could be the heater matrix leaking so I would start by changing that, whilst your there check all the unused holes in the bulk head are rubber bunged up.
  2. I have always wondered about this as the G60 lump tends to run hot, but I have never found anyone who has used it. It is expensive and I know you have to purge your coolant system first which can be time consuming, but you won't have that problem as you are having a new engine. I will be watching this thread to see what people come back with
  3. I would like to buy some fog and indicator lens protectors from you as soon as they are available
  4. I spotted a very nice looking K plate Dragon Green Corrado yesterday heading towards Park Wood industrial estate. I think it was a VR6, I was 2 cars back I gave him a toot when I past him turning into the industrial estate. Lovely looking car
  5. Thanks for all of you help and advice guys, but I have decided to stick to original with the exception of braided brake lines and all new pipe with refurbed brake calipers
  6. Mine is non ABS, does that mean my master cylinder isn't big enough to power the girling 60's?? :( I know they are fairly meaty, but the stopping power I think they could be worth the gamble.
  7. Hi everyone I am thinking of up grading my front brake calipers on my 1991 G60. Are Girling 60's a suitable upgrade? As I have a set sitting in my garage, What are the pro's and con's of fitting them? Thanks
  8. It's a real shame when you see a really good example being broken, but it's sad to say the cars are worth more in parts than selling the car as a whole, it's the same with mk2 golfs etc..... I always keep an eye on values and I would say they are on the increase slowly which is great news for us that ready have a good car  the dealers prices are always way over the top and I would tend to stay away from them because I don't trust them myself. I would rather buy from another enthusiast who has loved and cherished the car. My G60 is used every day, but I do wonder if I am better getting another car for commutes to work and using the Corrado at the weekends.
  9. Well done that man. I done something similar with a MK2 golf some 6 years back and she is still going strong. I hate seeing pod skool VW's being sold for scrap :(
  10. You can get new oil feed and return lines from OCD they are about £76.00 each though and fiddley to fit around the supercharger but well worth doing as they degrade internally and starve the charger of oil which is never good. The coolant flange and rocker cover gasket can be brought from B&B Componants. I have recently replaced all of these myself, it only took a couple of hours. I hope this helps
  11. Oh my days what a mess!!! looks like another breaker. It's such a waste grrrr
  12. Have you tried VW, I got some about 6 weeks ago. They were expensive though £96.00 each if I remember rightly. I have changed both of my cables and re bushed the tower. Now it's nice and smooth :)
  13. Spotted a red L registration VR6 on the M20 junction 2 yesterday evening at about 19:20, it headed up to the M25 then down to the A2 south bound. For a while we had a little convoy going on
  14. Oh bum that's a shame I will have to try and source a G60 one for refurb. Thanks for the info though.
  15. Hi have been looking into powder coating my subframe on my 1991 Corrado G60 and a friend of mine has an already powder coated VR6 one, would this fit my car ie engine mount positions etc..... Any help and advice would be much appreciated
  16. How much for the rear brake calipers and carriers posted to Kent fella? Are they the original ones?
  17. How much for the rear brake calipers and carriers posted to Kent?
  18. This has been a busy week for me on my G60, after doing all that work on the gearbox and tower i finally managed to diagnose and fix my fog lights, I also fitted a new throttle cable as the old one was beginning to get a bit sticky its all done and dusted now
  19. All sorted now, it turns out to be down to a faulty rely. I was looking at the wrong position for the relay lol it's been a good learning curve though
  20. Hi All, my fog lights arn't working on my Corrado, it's a 1990 H reg G60. I have checked the fuse replace the fog light switch. Is there relay for the fog lights? If so what position is it in the fuse/relay box? And part number as I don't think mine has a relay fitted from what I have seen on Internet. Any help and advice is much appreciated.
  21. Myself personally I would get under the car and have a good look at all your lines if one line has gone chances are there will be others on there way out, so you might as well replace all the corroded lines at the same time, then bleed the whole system through. Other wise in a few months time you could find yourself in the same situation.
  22. I have been rather busy on my Corrado, it has been a long hard day but well worth the effort. I started off by changing my supercharger oil feed and return lines, changed my gear box oil and fitted a magnetic sump plug in the gear box. After that i had to replace a nylon bush that retains the spring behind the clutch pedal which was a real pain in the rear to do. I also took the time out to fit my new short shifter, replace all the gear shift bushes and fit new gear selecter cables. She is driving as smooth as silk now. Whilst my car was up on the ramp I took the time out to inspect the under side of the car and draw myself up a little 'to do list'
  23. I would be interested if you would post it to Maidstone.
  24. Another G60 on the way to recovery I got told by OCD at Elsecar rebuild on a stage 4 charger about every 25K and should cost about £350 for a service/inspection. But if you want to get it checked out for piece of mind it's all good as you don't know much about the history of the car. I would also change the oil feed and return lines as they have a habit of breaking down through age and starving the charger of oil which will wreck the charger, OCD sell these at about £45 a piece which is a lot cheaper than having to replace the charger. I changed mine for piece of mine as they were over 4 years old. I was lucky enough to get a very detailed history with mine from another enthusiast.
