24V Renshaw - 24V V6 - Just read the whole thread!!!!

those rims IMO make this car so unique that to change them may ruin whats already such an amazing car... unless that is you can get hold of some even nicer rims that wont require hours of cleaning everytime you wash the car, either that or just get some show rims... :) then again that would sort of draw the line through the "daily driver" type theme. -
that may be the guy darren was on about??

I now have two fairly obvious dings on the driver side quarter panel, one that was done today by some pratt in a carpark, that i didnt realise i had untill i got home :x , anyway i was talking with darren from G-werks about the paintless dent removal thats available after he had had it done on his passat, can anyone reccomend anywhere that will do a decent job and is fairly local to me (Portsmouth) Dont really wanna have to get the whole quarter panel resprayed, had enough bad luck with paint over the past year as it is, so needs to be relatively cheap. :)

Feckin Hell!! that looks like a manufacturing error with the forgings or something.... mate youve spent so much money on this engine, they would be totally taking the piss if they didnt take the entire car away and fix it for you!! i would be livid if they didnt! Hope you can sort it out... 8) there are always ups and downs, just keep going matey! will be awesome
-
yeah, its a really dark blue, almost black colour.... moonlight blue i think its called.
-
seen yours a few times mate, looks quite nice with the ronal turbos and decked! 8) I usually only see other Corrados when i am not driving mine!! Cant really flash and wive whilst i am in my GFs bright green corsa with pink headrests now can i.... :)
-
definately looks like the water pump mate! thats a very similar leak that i had a while back, a new pump will sort that problem out!

Not totaly sure on the paint code, but i was told by "too hot" they where done in an anthracite colour, which when up close looks like a metallic gun metal type colour, looks very understated and minimalistic... as for future plans, i need to get the roof and quarter panels resprayed at some point as at some time in the past its been done, but who ever has done it ( VW... would you believe) resprayed it without taking the window seals out etc so there are signs of the old paint cracking through in areas, the finish is ok its just a bit annoying. also got an array of bumpers and a tailgate sat in the garage waiting to get sprayed aswell, rear wiper is getting smoothed and i may get the front and rear bumpers smoothed over aswell. the other area i cant seem to leave alone is the engine bay... :) quite like the look of the G-werks stainless manifolds... 8) it never ends..

Thanks for the response guys, much appreciated!! To be honest they wheels looks a million times better than i thought they would look! i wasnt totaly sure about the colour but i think its quite a nice match to the dark bodywork now that they are on, and it looks so much more aggressive! and thats even without the need for a "bad boy" bonnet... :D

there is 15mm of thread left from the bottom on the coilovers so probably around 65 - 70mm i think, there are the FK coilovers which i think max out at 85mm?? Its bloody low, maybe a little to low for daily use, will see how i get on, theres a few fairly large speed humps round my way. 8)

I havent torquered them yet... couldn't read the german instructions that came with the H&R Adapters! they are tight enough for now tho! will have to look up on that asap.
-
Fancy a swap....
-
yeah was planning on getting them diamond cut at some point, but just could'nt resist slapping them on for a while, will prob get them done after summer maybe... they do look bloody awesome tho! especially the rears! And just to confirm i will defo be coming up to you tm if your in, to drop the RXs off for you mate! will give you a ring in the morning!
-
yeah it may be worth using a little low strength loctite just to keep thread secure, you dont want to use something too powerfull as it will be a pain to remove them afterwards!
-
More piccies... :)
-
nah just a little greese to stop the corrosion on the bolts but other than that you dont really need loctite AFAIK.
-
I will mate! the 30mm spacers look just right! the pic i took earlier is **** and doesnt really show it well, could do with lowering a bit more on the coilovers a bit aswell! will have a play tommorow and show the results! Cheers for the advice aswell mate, they really do look spot on! :)[/quote:01940]

the one thing i am pleased with is no scrubbage on the front at all!! mind you i havent "re-lowered" it yet

Yeah, have to agree i am all for the sound of the G60 engine etc, but the excess whistling was doing my head in.
-
mate go have a look at this place! may be a little far to travel but, they are brilliant! and the prices are reasonable to. http://www.rwmasters.co.uk/ To be honest £1200 sounds a bit cheap for a full respray, i am guessing you should be looking for figures of atleast £1500 upwards. It may be worth having a chat with these guys , just so you can get an idea of what they charge. They are just past chichester way, iam getting some work done on mine there pretty soon when i get the chance to drop everything off! Just have a word with the likes of Darren from G-werks they reccomend this place highly aswell!
-
i didnt mind the whistle at first, i thought it was quite cool, but for some reason it was getting gradually louder and louder to the point i could hardly hear the engine and exhaust!
