  1. Pretty sure its going to be an earthing problem/short as you suggest as don't think its alternator and pretty sure its not battery - are there anyobvious places to start with for this type of problem - any common earth issues known?
  2. Also - as alarm was set before battery failed - will I be able to start it - of will I have to jump the batteyr for a while then use the alarm fob to turn of immobaliser - sorry if this is sounding thick but i really don't know
  3. Hpefuly not the battery that's brand new - so will have to check other issues you mention - thanks. Could something be earthed when brakes were done just seems strange that it happnedd straight after garage - although could be co-incidence and issue with alarm thinking something is open happening the same time?
  4. Ok cant see an electrical area under the technical thread so putting this here - HELP!! OK car battery is completely dead. Had new brakes fitted all round could anything be draining the battery - ABS? When I picked up from garage they said battery was low so I took it for a very long drive to get battery charged up. Car has now been sitting for three days not used. - The alarm was bleeping four times on unlocking suggesting something was nogt closed - checked all that and everything was closed - has it booked in for tomorrow for alarm to be looked at but im wondering if something the garage did or didn't do may be the cause? Even the alarm is completely dead and central door locking - nothing left in battery at all - cause I have my car on street I cant get a car to it to give it a jump until they all go to work. Can anyone diagnose this - can it be brakes fitting or alarm fault? Thanks
  5. That's similar to the VW stealer in Swindon - big posh entrance for new cars and side entrance down the side for parts that's a bit dingy! Obviously like banks don't care much about you once they have you lol!
  6. Will check my box of bits this weekend and let you know
  7. And I may have a full set of goodridge hoses - Front back and middle. Seems like I may have over ordered - just need to recheck tonight - sure I can do a really good price.
  8. Lol the great cathedral of Swindon city! Na.... I was thinking Sainsbury's car park
  9. Don't forget the best ever.... Porridge!
  10. Not sure what continuous beep is mine beeps 4 Times after the locking beep which on mine signifies something not shut .... Again I have checked everything and all is closed. As for you it started straight after some work where wheels were off. Coincidence i am sure. But will know more on Wednesday
  11. I only stay with Virgin due to the internet being so good so have TV off them at the same time - bit of a con really having to pay for a phone line at £15 pm (Controlled cartel) when they use the same cable as the TV comes in on and I don't even want a landline! Just waiting to see how good 4G is in my area and may then just get a mobile wifi router on 4G then dump the TV channels and do same as you just freeview - crap all on TV anyway!
  12. Isnt there a section on doing that in the instruction manual? Sure I saw something
  13. I have just had my car in the garage having the brakes done and I now have the same problem (also have a cobra alarm) - multi beeps on locking. On Wednesday I am dropping it back into the auto electricians that fitted alarm to check it so interested in seeing any replies as to cause!
  14. Lol - OK will let you know - although will probably meet on the A419 - if you are coming form Bristol you will probably come off at J15 onto A419 (runs along side Swindon)- just need to scope out a god meeting point!
  15. Still thinking of coming along - just need to convince the GF as its her bday on the Saturday. (don't think she will see it as a present) - Out of interest will anyone be passing Swindon (coming up from the South) early on the Sunday morning as would be god to join a small convoy myself? Thinking it needs to be quite early as the traffic going into RIAT is horrendous!
  16. Only cost £15 a year so well worth it.
  17. Next time I need work done putting it into a Dutch auction on here
