I'll compare the price's between GSF and VW and take it from there..
-
I'll post some pic's up of my old tensioner when i've got it off,It's down to the rivet's !! other than that everthing okay, chain guide's are all intact(but i'm changing them anyway while it's stripped down)
-
GSF it is then!! What sort of gasket sealer is best to use on the chain cover's?
-
I'm just in the process of changing the chains and tensioner's on my VR6 and i don't know weather to go for genuine chains or some from GSF.Are the one's from GSF going to be good quality ?also what about seal's and gasket's genuine or not?One other question what brand of sealer should i use on the timing chain cover's? Cheers

Sorry my mistake i've just checked and the switch illuminates when the sidelight's and headlight's are switched on and they become brighter when pressed in. When i first got my Corrado the switch was'nt fitted very well and used to fall out until all the time,i've now managed to fit the switch inside an old heated rear screen switchand it's perfect. I'm not sure if mine is illuminating as it should do maybe someone else can confirm this.

Mine are both lit up when the ignition is on and when you press them in they illuminate brighter

Not quite m8 - Beru make the OE leads. Top quality & I wouldn't use anything else. raypau - if you get the leads from GSF, be sure to specify that you want the Beru leads. We stock leads from several manufacturers but Beru are by far the best. The original lead's that i took of mine were stamped with Bremi & VW so they must be OE.Or maybe beru and bremi both make lead's for VW.Also We've got a V5 Golf at work at the minute and that has got Bremi lead's on it.(The actual wire's are red though)..

Has the coolant level gone down at all ?
-
I've ended up buying some Bremi ones from ECP i paid £35+vat... Bargain.Exactly the same but without VW stamped on them.
-
Can anyone tell me the part number's and what the pressure's are on the both of the switch's.It's a 1993 vr6 by the way. Cheers.

How do you get time to keep swaping these engine's over like you do? I wish i had more time to work on my own car but i'm allway's doing everyone else's !!
-

Kev,what do the cable blocks look like?Have you got any picture's? I've just got a complete mechanism out of a 1993 seat toledo and i'm just lubricating the mechanism before i fit it into my C,Hopefully anyway.

You can get fault codes on a 16v - but RW1 has said that vag com only works at the lower baud rate settings Well you learn something new every day.

What year passat's do the glass sunroof's come from?
-
I don't know about the handling but the ride will be even worse
-
How did they manage to get all those fault code's.You cant get fault codes from a 2.0 16v.. i think someone's having a laugh!! What did the emmision's actually fail on ? Co or Lambda?

Just a quick question i've read 2CC's guide but is it nessecary to remove the radaitor and front panel as i don't really want to disconnect any of the aircon setup..

Mine tilt's but doesnt slide back when opperated with the motor but if you use the handle and wind it back manually it goes back fine, why is this? I've also tried another motor that is okay and it still wont slide back any ideas?

GSF sell brand new VR6 rad fan motor's that's where i got mine from can't remember how much though -
We sell fuel at work (we are just a privately owned garrage) and our's cost's 102.9 for diesel and 99p a litre for unleaded  .I have noticed that around where i live there are less and less BP and Esso petrol station's and more and more tesco and sainsbury's petrol station's ,i was told by the tanker driver who deliver's fuel to us that this it because BP and esso who supply the fuel at the refineries can make more money by selling it wholesale to the supermarket's that's why they are all closing. The only thing that youre going to do by going to the supermaket petrol station's is help them on their way to wipe out all other supplier's of fuel until the supermarket's have got the monopoly on fuel!!

You can try mine if you like
