I'd just like to thank everyone who has contributed to this thread. Some really useful information. :thumbleft: Still a bit unclear on how the spring plates affect ride height. Or do they? No8 on the front diagram ETKA & No7 on the rear diagram ETKA. Is that right? Cheers, Steve

Thanks for that Ian. Are those 17'' wheels?

Jim, The Sachs/H&R set up was another one I considered, for a standardish set up. Do you have a picture of the car please?
-
Does anyone have a picture of their car on the Bilstein B12 kit? Have read some very positive comments on this set up. Just wondering what the ride height looks like. Does the type of spring plate affect the ride height?

OK thanks. Chrome it is then. -
As per the title. Red or chrome?

A £100! :suprised:

Still pondering on what kit/ set up to go for. The Bilstein B12 is looking favourite at the moment but don't want to jump into it!
-
Thanks for that, but it is only one & it's for an A3.

Thanks mate. :thumbleft:

Got one! A Mystic blue Storm from Furno on here. Nice guy. Some jobs to do. Suspension, a few other jobs & some paint & should make a very nice car. Arrives tomorrow. Can't wait.

Thanks for the comments so far guys. I've looked at the Bilstein B12 kit. Any comments? Don't want anything too low or harsh. Budget about £600 so possible. Already has the camber bolts fitted apparently.

Anyone?

Found a VR6 but is on horrible coilovers. I'm looking to return it fairly standard except the ride height. Was thinking H&R springs (-30mm) & Sachs dampers (Eurocarparts)Would this set up be compatible & anyone tried it? Keeping standard 15'' wheels. Open to any other suggestions too! Also, what bits will I need to revert back from the coilovers? Cheers, Steve

Savour the awfulness :gag: -
Not a Storm, I know, but a lovely car, low mileage & belonged to Chris L on here I think. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Volkswagen-Corrado-VR6-/151429637288?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item2341e8e4a8 Unsold for months at £9,000.
-
Ultimately I think all cars are only 'worth' what someone is prepared to pay for them. Unless I've misjudged the current market for the Corrado, Storm or not, 6-7k for a good 100,000 mile plus car is top money. Subjective I know & can of worms opened I suspect!:bomb:
-
Fair comment Jim. But how much higher a price than a standard VR6?
-
Bloody hell! Nice car but not worth that surely? I've just had a conversation with a guy who may be selling a Mystic blue Storm, which i know he bought for £6,000 about two months ago. He tried to tell me he knows of someone with a similar car & he values that at £11,000!!! Think I'll be walking away from that if he tries it on. I know the Storm was a limited edition but is basically a VR6 with badges & trim & may command a small premium over a standard VR6. Opinions?
-
If it's gone to a trader I bet it'll be someone like KGF Classics or 4 Star Classics. Both specialise in cars of that era.
-
I'm in two minds now to be honest! The one I missed out on is a Mystic blue Storm, 104,000 miles & good history. Needs nothing i think & sold for £6,000 which i think is about it's money. The other, a blue Storm with 135,000 miles, good history but will need complete suspension overall & some paint & maybe more? Opinions please? Cheers, Steve

Agreed. Good cars are always in demand. There was a green Corrado Storm on Pistonheads, 37,000 miles for £7,000 & gone within a day!
