Lol I said SERIOUS recommendations! -
Lol David Celica s not practical enough for family - I prefer 5 doors and more rear ceiling space :) Did I mentioned I had a Gen4 Celica?

OK Not had much luck lately with buying cars. Some of u know about my C ... Some of u now know about my MG (no major issues, but ghost of Christmas C still haunts me ) I have put my MG for sale now, record time for me! This record beats my last record of selling the C within 4 months of ownership! :( I just want the following to last me 3-5 years to save money - as saving for house deposits: 1. Reliable 2. Cheap (buy/maintain) 3. No water leaks 4. Fun to drive 5. £700-£2k 6. 5 door hatchback Optional 7. Auto 8. Petrol 9. LPG Any SERIOUS recommendations? Cheers all

I know too :( Determined next car be Jap (more reliable) Or cheap as chips so don't mind scrapping it a less of a loss Really want a ugly, reliable, cheap work horse for next 3-5 years. Something I can leave and not having to wash to keep it looking nice. Something I can just park anywhere and don't care being bashed Something that rarely goes wrong or have water leak issues And the car in front is a Toyota ?

I know bud....trying too But u know all too tempting when a nicer looking car is a few £100s more.... Then another a few more £100s more.....then u at £3k now :shocked!:

Lol OK Sean. If next car I view is totally neglected, blue smoke, Mayo in oil cap and even struggles to start - then I ll BUY it!
-
Still here ... Still unsure of next car....maybe cheap sub £2k Jap hatchback 1.4 with LPG...
-

Cool It's really boils down to personal preference....

I know I meant is the 16v C more fun in other ways than the more powerful VR6 ? The Golf comparison was just a metaphor  If I still had a garage I would buy a cheap C to tinker with in a heart beat (AS LONG as its mechanically sound -)
-
Sadly I just bought it by myself and fell in love with it immediately :( Missed her a lot - but at least the new owner got time/money and the tools to restore her now :thumbleft:

Before buying the C I was buying the Mk2 Golf GTi 8v Sure 8v less power than the 16v - but been told 8v more engaging and fun? Is this what u mean by the 16v, Andy? What about the Supercharger?
