Once driven a VR6 - can't have anything else ...
-
Lol Cheers Stuart. It's OK - I will survive 3-5 years wait for a mint one :)
-
Lol Just kidding ref C - don't think my £2k budget can stretch to a mint C :(
-
Bad hair day, Andy :( Or another mid life crisis!
-
I know, Andy :( Long story mate - the ghost of the C s money pit still haunts me today - so much that I actually backed out of buying the MG initially.... Anyway So far its only costed me: £140 for refurb radiator fan (mod) £13 rear light seals £10 engine bay plenum guard (mod) So MG been surprisingly well behaved :thumbleft: Something about it that I not comfortable So much when I went to buy it I had EXACTLY the same guy feeling as the C - don't buy! But MG been good :) But I still not happy :( Especially when parked on public road and inconvenient to detail or tinker with ...
-
Selling my MG....anyone want to swop for a mint C? ;)
-
Nice Work, Sanky! :thumbleft: Can't believe u still having some bad luck even though I no longer around that much
-
I see ...
-
Awesome pics :thumbleft: Looked like a real nice day too :) How come 2 C s without front fog lights???
-
So s/he waved back and now recognised u behind?
-
U should have either drove up to him on the left lane and had a chat or blind him from behind with your flood lights to let him know u there! Any forum /CCUK stickers?
-
Nice one Harrier! :) Really wanted to go to RIAT with my C - but now no C :( So how was it? Was there any special converted/nodded C s on show? Who showed up from CCUK? Any awards?
-
-
Nah thanks! Been there a couple of years ago for used tyres - they scratched my alloys :( And gave me a used tyre with a side bulge in it !!! Eeek!!
-
Is that the garage when heading towards Halfords from BQ, Turn left (Mac on corner), A few 100 yards right is some sort of industrial units ....they there?
-
Thanks Stuart. I think I prefer new nowadays - maybe go for budget new...
-
But I already sold one kidney when financing my C s repair work....
-
I always think others know better :( Maybe lack of confidence in myself....but then again knowing my luck even if I walked away I probably end up with an even worse car  Took Rover on bypass....can't even call it a BLAST now :( I missed my C....
-
Lol No worries, Andy - all good banter  U know what? After the experience of buying the C alone and then problems came to light AFTER I drove away....I was determined to thoroughly researched the Rover AND got a forum member to inspect it for me before I bought a one way ticket to final inspect myself :thumbleft: Rover was described as "excellent inside and out, FSH, long MOT, most importantly BIG jobs done (cambelt/pump/pretensions/guides - ah, I learnt this from here ) and the infamous VIS motors inside the inlet manifold also replaced + major service and OBD diagnostic check (T4) by an expert Rover garage. Forum member inspection also reported back EXCELLENT with a BUY BUY BUY recommendation... ...what more endorsement do I need??? I went down on the day looking forward to it and thinking " Wayne s luck starting to turn :)" And.... ...I didn't want it. Parked outside for God knows how long. Dirt, bird poo, door frames engine sides covered in debris - though inside was very clean. The thought of the C inspection made me sweat....but feeling is this car not excellent nor loved and I don't want it to be like the C ALL OVER AGAIN  :shocked!" Rang the member who inspected it "I backing out!" Member "why, its an excellent buy, worth more!" Me "needs new tyres coz cracking, trims falling apart, looks unloved..." Member "seriously, its nothing its a very good buy" Contradicting my gut feeling ...I proceeded to test drive..."engine grinding, fan kicks in intermittently, heavy petrol smell, winning in cabin, lots of squeaks rattles too...." Member "that's normal!" I bought it, rest is history. Now car pulls to left when breaking  Refurb radiator fan + bits £140  Tyres are 18" so £100+ (unless budget) Lots of talks about hot weather , long trips, air conditioning and WHY? :shocked!: Taking a 500mile round trip over weekend wish me luck! ARGHHHHH.... Cheers I paid top dollars for this one hoping most big issues sorted - apparently may not be the case :( I understand yes its old car - but it isn't that old when compared to the C.... Username: Wayne2015  Cheers bud. Forum has remade seals for £10 - so Andy was right some cheap parts made by members :thumbleft: But no reply from members AND its started to rain these few days - so I might make the seals myself. Agree! Forum already said spray direct on air con evaporator - accessible via footwell (as underneath too big a job for me)! :) The forum is very good. Members are very helpful. So please don't take my words as Rover are bad cars and forum not so good esp with my personal inspection. Rover is a LOT of car for the money. Forum is excellent so far. Members really helpful - person who inspected my car really nice :thumbleft: I think this time I just picked a member who is not very thorough with inspections and too generous with praise - my bad luck. Fan needs to be fixed - as they are well know to break. Especially been told my coolant temp is NOT being kept at optimal temp  Forum members are already helping me left right and centre! So all praise and respect to them - so please don't take my experience so far as a poor light to the Rover and forum ...I just sharing my personal experience... Buying ANYTHING is not my thing, Sean! Not told u about other stuff I bought yet! Don't get me started on bikes! Few years ago - waited months to buy a new mountain bike. No promotions were available, so bought a new one from Halfords. Next day, In national newspapers on double page "Halford bikes now 1/3 off!".....
-
Same s**t happening to the same Wayne (guy) TWICE?!!! :shocked!: Maybe u guys are right. Don't buy Rover! 1. Rear lights leaking water into boot 2. Radiator fan low speed broke 3. Stinky air con 4. Whining noise from engine 5. Concerns cambelt/water pump incorrectly fitted 6. Needs 2 new tyres 7. Gearbox oil needs changing Etc Etc Wayne STILL the unluckiest person alive OR dead on this planet! Still, At least it's not broke down... ...yet! :shocked!: Wayne signing off for a while - whilst he have s a nervous breakdown...
-
Just notice I get more Rover posts on my thread at this speed - than my C! With that in mind we be at 200 pages in less than a month  Not sure if appropriate on a C thread though......
-
Lol It only affects the 1.8 :) Though my rear light seals are leaking in water - but its only a £10 fix (phew!) :)
