Well FAR too COLD for full detail And wax will NEVER cure in this temp (even with sun out)! So QUICK detail:
-
Yes The specialist is also doing this Friday for me: 1. Oil / Filter 2. Increase height of coilovers 3. So might as well a quick check on the stalling Then subject to work and with a huge credit limit on my credit card: 1. Book into Stealth Racing for Timing Chain/water pump/clutch 2. And the dreaded "anything else that needs replacing/fix/repair/break etc" - eeeeek! Thereafter: To local bodyshop for: 1. Quick spot de-rusting and spot paint-respray Tis the plan But may not happen or i get sacked at work or hit by a bus whichever comes 1st or sods law all at once!
-
Ok If thats the case, Will leave out the waxing and use a quick detailer instead. Will wait a little warmer later in the day for that then ...
-
Ok De-rusting worked! ...10% of its cleaning power :( LOL As expected!
-
Well Its frosty outside Temp 2degrees But My car is dirty and with rusty spots I know its USELESS and waste of time trying to de-rust and wax at these ridiculous temps, But what the heck - something better than nothing! De-rusting:

Cheers Andy Sanky has offered to meet up - so just waiting for his PM. The local VW specialist charges £40/hr. So I think it wise just to limit to that for looking into the stalling issue.

Ref car stalling... Did a search on here, GLUP! Its a common problem for VR6s????!!!! *the stalling at low idle speed eg approaching junction* And there is no definitive solution :( :( :( With the search I did, When car is at garage on Friday (oil / filter / coil overseas), Will ask garage to look at following: 1. Clean ISV 2. Throttle body 3. All intake pipes 4. Crank sensor 5. Coil pack 6. MAF 7. Ignition lead 8. Finally reset ECU Fingers crossed then!

I used to the fan coming on loudly to cool the engine bay after switching off... But for the whole cabin to vibrate as if the engine is on - is something i need to get used too! Had to pull the keys out to re-assure myself the engine was off - lol

Forgot to say, I always like the US / Jap looks of AMBER lights - especially the fogs. But more YELLOW than ORANGE. But, at 2 minds about whether it looks cleaner with clear lenses. And I do know what u mean Tobz, about breaking up the lines a little with a splash of a different colour ... My side indicators are amber, I want to replace them with CLEAR ones too...

After another 10mins trying...I went to garage... ...a little elbow grease and what we all thought was the LOCKED position was in fact the UNLOCKED position...doh

Cheers Tobz I agree! It was the WHITE Corrado s that caught my eyes (and not the other colours). I am hoping to get someone to fix the spot rusts after Easter (after timing chain replacement) It sounds like we may have a competition to who has the most problems with our cars - lol But good luck with it all - at least u know what I doing :) I don't! :(
