So its taken me about 7 - 8 weeks to get to this point. Engines running smoothly and ready to go. Just need to install a boost gauge and some oil sensors, also put the short drive shaft back in and it will be ready for a test drive :)

So tonight i cracked on with getting the engine out as im away this weekend at camperjam so wanted it out. Luckily my car sat low enough for me to put my trolley under the engine and pull it out. So this is what it looks like now. Next job will be cleaning the bay up and pulling the old loom out. Anyone got any advice on taking it out as ive never done it before. Stripped the engine down last night ready to throw some gunk on it to clean it and paint the block. Also doing the cam belt whilst I'm there. Took the inlet and rocker cover off and got a mate powder coating them for me. Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk

Cheers dude. I'm getting someone to do the loom for me but taking it out is daunting me as I'm not the best with wiring and it scares me haha. Yeah I'm going to use my wheel or a g60 with a vr6 clutch and my box just for ease. Also going to buy a bigger intercooler and induction so I can get it mapped. Not looking for mega power but 220 will do me [emoji108] Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk

After reading and reading up on 20v swaps, I found this down the road and got in the van to pick it up ! Got everything included which I needed aswell. I've started getting the engine ready to go in by cleaning and getting bits powder coated. Also new timing belt and pieces while it's out. Anyone have any tips or good how to's on this swps. I've read alot so pretty clued up but things like connecting fuel lines and water lines to heater matrix. Also taking my old loom out. Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk

One little project I did do to the car was install air cups on the front. I made two MDF stands which hold the fire extinguisher tanks. And the compressor and wiring is all hidden under them. Could do with a photo of the boot how to how it looks like now, I covered the stands in black leather. Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk

Evening all I've been reading up on 20v conversions as I'm looking to do it on my 2.0 16v. I know the BAM engine is the best for bhp, so if I can find one I will if not an agu or something will do as I'm not looking to make loads of power. Would there be any difference installing the BAM compared to the others ? Also I've read my 16v gearbox would bolt straight on just need a vr6 clutch ? Or would I be best using the 20v gearbox? Not sure if this is a direct fit? Driveshafts etc. Also do I need to do anything about fueling? And I know vagtronics will do the loom for me. Any advice and guidance is much appreciated as this will be my first engine swap. Thanks Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk

Thanks for the reply. I'm not 100 percent sure. I assumed they go inside so it holds it tight when it's on properly. Surely it would still flap about it the door card rested on them? I could be wrong though Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk

Havnt updated for a while as I've been driving her and enjoying her for a while before I start on other jobs. I spent a day washing, claying, polishing and protecting the paint. Which she really needed doing. And I finally got new tyres and got the steels on. Also picked up these as I'm changing my mind on the steels. Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk

Afternoon I recently removed my door cards to install new speakers. I managed to get them off ok but I'm struggling to clip the bottom edge back on. Previously on other cars they pop back on quite easily. I've tried hooking the bottom first then the top but that doesn't work. So I'm left with the door card installed at the top but the bottom clips are a nightmare to get on. Any tips or a way of doing this ? Thanks Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk

I am going to get them sorted as I don't like the fronts very much Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
