  1. Welcome. Been on here since April and the questions that I have answered have been invaluable so don't be afraid to ask. People on here seem to be a lot more friendly than on other forums I'm on for the golf. Is the car red, pink or white as mine is the same age and all 3 it's almost like a camo effect lol.


  2. Looking good. Do you ever sleep. I had repaired and painted the drivers side within 2 weeks of owning the mine and thought that was going some. But you have taken it to a whole new level. Good luck and welcome.


  3. Haven't had a chance to have a play with the car today as it's the oldest boys birthday so will have a look tomorrow. Shame about the speakers as got some 6.5 inch speakers that I have had for 9 years brand new in box that I think my grandad bought for me when still alive. So would love to use them somewhere or another. I think they have been destined for every car since then but never got round to it. Will keep updated. Cheers for all the advice. Much appreciated.


  4. The wires are still intact. Have fitted new radio today and it turns off when the key is removed. Will have to read the instructions (pls excuse the swear word) to see about remote wire. Any idea what size the front door speakers are?


  5. I have noticed that my cig lighter and radio are both on permanent lives is this correct on a 92 g60 or do I have an issue. It hasn't been a problem till now but will need some thing to run my remote wire for the amp off of. Any suggestions as to what I could use instead. Cheers


  6. Does sound like a fair bit of work. The main reason I was looking to do this is so I can run a small camping fridge and charge phones etc when at shows without running main batt down but my brother pointed out that a small solar panel charging a separate batt might be easier and more portable plus cheaper. So might try that out first. Wasn't over keen on the extra weight in the boot.


  7. I'm thinking of fitting a second batt in the boot to run the stereo but not sure what's involved. Can it be charged off the alternator? Will it need its own fuse box? Cheers in advance.


  8. Was wondering if any one could advise what the best shows to go to are. Tried dubs in the middle. Good atmospher but Very t4 t5 heavy. Was hopping to see some corrados/ golfs etc but I'm the only corrado here and not seen any good golfs and even the good old bettles are thin on the ground.


  9. Vw_owner yes that is the set up I'm using. Does that mean larger diameter hoses and connectors? I have one hose 10m from the compressor to a water trap and a 20m hose from water trap to belt. Would both need replacing? Will check hole in pot lid first though as that sounds alot cheaper.


  10. Tip is 1.2 I think but also got a devilbis primer gun which is also doing the same thing. Have kept my eye on the pressure and the is no dip. Happens consistently every 3-4 seconds. Tried with and without the filter and always use strainers. Also the only thing in my workshop that is clean are the guns. Lol. And if I thin the paint down any more it will be to **** thin. Could it have any thing to do with hoses air fed valve?


  11. Devilbis gti. Tried it at 10% 20% and 30% thinners. Have drained all the water messed about with pressure fan size, adjusted the nedal. But still the same. If I had hair I would be pulling it out right now.


  12. When painting my bonnet this after noon I noticed it seamed to have some sort of misfire leaving dry patches. Has anyone else come across this? I use an air feed mask and have a 150l compressor. Any advise would be helpful. Cheers


  13. Hope someone can help. The central locking doesn't work when I lock the door at the drivers side but when I do it at the passengers door both doors and boot lock / unlock. It has had some scum bag try to break into it using the same trick that is common on golfs but all they did was make a mess of the metal around the handal. This happened before I got the car and previous owner had used an armoured plate to cover damage so handal didn't fit properly this has now been fixed but still no joy with central locking. Any help would be appreciated.its a 91 g60 if that makes any difference or are all models using same system.


  14. The g60 was rebuilt about 4k ago by jmr (stage 1)It's on 138k and has had a full engine rebuild in the past due to previous owner letting water in the cooling system dry out so over heated. Still haven't found any rust except a little surface rust and one bit under the car by the exhaust. Not a single mod so it's how it rolled out the factory. Albeit with faded paint and 22 years worth of parking dents which to me is a good sign that I won't find inches thick of filler when I do the re spray. Already re sprayed drivers side and found no filler and no evidence of repair apart from a new front wing. It was owned by the same person for 18 years and every receipt even down to wiper blades etc. but saying that you never know so fingers crossed.


  15. I have followed your instructions and uploaded the photos but when it asks to drag the photos to next section the whole page moves and can't seem to drag them. I am using an iPad but not good with computers. Any ideas where I'm going wrong. Cheers.

    Please go easy on me not used to forums so will probably be asking silly questions that have been asked and answered before till I get to know where to look. Bought a standard g60 3 weeks ago popping my corridor cherry. Have owned 2 mk2 golfs and currently have a mk1 sitting in the garage in bits. Planning on going down the oem route as not many standard g60's anymore. First silly question how do I post pics?
