Gooney has left the building. To be reborn in white wearing some LMs and somewhere in north Norfolk.

Congratulations matey! Well Done. All that effort is worthwhile!

My work IT policy blocks the website as spyware/malware!!

cant get the dizzy rotor arm off, also trying to sort starting issue
mrbeige replied to hyland770's topic in Engine Bay
Be very careful you don't damage the top plate of hte dizzy, as I bent it on mine and it cased an eventual failure as the disc was rubbing on the hall sensor. Best way is to get a set of mole grips on it and basically make it shatter by gripping it really tight. You'll want to replace the bugger anyway :) -
One of my all-time favourite Corrados! Always nice to see one being driven hard on a track!
-
I had heard it wasn't your 'usual' install. Looking forward to seeing the pics though :)
-
Oooooh, VRT goodness. Got any piccies?
-
I like the look of the tailpipes. Makes a change to see twin rounds instead of oval. Good work :)

Agreed. Owning a Golf VR (OBD2) that is running on coilies, I have to say it definitely ISN'T soggy or mundane!
-
Just my opinion obviously, but £500 for a valver with that many 'issues' isn't worth it. I paid £300 for my G-reg valver, and that's was straight, good runner and drove well and had a mint interior! Seems like a hell of a lot of cash to me.... 2p

I'm not entirely sure knowing the engine inside out as anything to do with it. Extraction and wee, is more like it.....

I agree with dukest, if you keep on top of general maintenance, and there is nothing seriously worng with her, then sort the rot out. However, being a pearl paint, Mystic Blue is a pain (we have a Golf in the same colour) and there are actually 3 shades of the same colour!! Any panels being repainted, will need blowing into the adjacent one, so be advised if every other panel needs paint, then a complete respray will need to be done (except maybe the roof...)

If that's the case Jim, why have you got two Corrados and not one Corrado and one Alfa? Oh and I much prefer the Corrado. However, their are worse cars for the Corrado to be compared to by your work mates......

 @ boost monkey

Oh yeah, forgot about MV, but as said they aren't as local. My mate at work has used MV when he needed a new gearbox in his MKIV.

I've used City of Ely motors in the past. They aren't specialists, but have always done a good job, are reasonably priced and give good service.

check the area below the thermo housing and aux water pump. Tell tail signs of leakage would be white water marks. Our Golf is losing water from both

Damn you, with the bogus free cheese and ham offer......I'm not going to help now.....not that I could have anyway

It's not until you compare the two that you realise the sheer speed of the F1 cars.

Jammy git! ;)

Yeah, definitely all about expectation. You look at the list of 'bests', and nearly all are in the bottom 10! Haha

Apart from on the weekends, when he minces under the name Brenda....

Not been to either of those Furbers for years. I used to love walking around the one in Whixall (used to live in Whixall). You don't get to walk around places like that much any more. Bit rubbish really, as there's nothing more satisfying than finding a solution to a problem using of cars parts :dorky:
