Might have to get one of those, I quite like the idea of having a go myself....

The rear calipers are notorious for siezing. Best bet is to fit either mk3 or mk4 golf calipers. I used mk4 calipers with a set of goodrich hoses, as the banjo fittings are different than the standard ones. You can pick up mk4 rear calipers for about £60-80 from breakers yards and goodrich hoses are about £35.

Good job dude, glad you got it sorted!

To be fair he got a mechanic to do it, and he always calls me for advice, like its going out of fashion! What do you need to know, I might be able to get him to find out from the mechanic?
-
That is a good question?? You need to ask someone with a VR very nicely to take a piccie of the back of there clocks I think, as mine are different to that. I'd replace that component anyway, just to be sure....

Well given that my mate has put motorbike carbs on a standard 9a with only a KR inlet cam and fourbranch manifold and is seeing 170bhp, the cheaper option isn't a bad one!!
-
That's some good work there Karl, fair play to you 8) Looking forward to seeing the end result. Isn't it much better to find a way to do thing yourself, much more satisfying! [/edit] Where did you get your sewing machine from? I'm guessing it isn't a standard one?

Nooooooooooo need. Bad luck there dude. Well hope you get the money it deserves, a quality VR if ever I've seen one. Lets hope you get a job sorted quickly so you can get that house you're after. -
To be fair dude, that stuff has been like that for ages, I've just been putting it off and thinking about making it go faster  Thought about getting other stuff sorted out first..... Replaced the headlight stalk tonight with one that doesn't turn the lights off when you put the headlights on

Mk3 all the way given that its a 16v. The best 16v engine that VW have made in the Mk3. Very good daily hack with a bit of "go". Build quality is better to boot!

That's what I was thinking.... Just checked out the Image wheels website, some of them a really fookin nice....... 8)

G60 discs and pads is a good upgrade and relatively cheap too, just need to find some G60 calipers (normally around £80 2nd hand)
-
Stick a KR cam in there while you're at it! Tappets are normally 3-4 quid each so it ain't a cheap job. Done this myself and isn't too difficult to do, just gotta make sure you but the brackets that hold the cams in place back in the same place!

It is a funny package considering that one of the pins doesn't go anywhere either. I'll see if I can dig out the diode you want....... ......ah here it is.....package names BAV99 or BAW56 will work as the right hand side of the diode isn't used anyway.
-
You should check you heater matrix, that seems to be more likely than the door seal...
-
When you replaced that little component in the cluster did you use a transistor or diode? The reason I asked is I've had a set of VR clocks and they are differnet to my 16v ones, as on the 16v clocks its a transistor. the VR clocks have a diode instead as there is some further protection circuitry for the spoiler output elsewhere on the board. With the VR clocks I had, I'd replaced the diode with a transistor and ended up with a very flat 12v signal output, i.e. it had lost its ability to produce a square wave. Its just a thought....

Rpmayne, what model and age is you Corrado?
-
Cheers dude. Half sorted out my drivers seat tonight. This is how it looked when I started... This is after replacing the side bolster material Gonna get one of my mate's missus to stitch in a new panel to repair the hole, then I'll have a near minty black interior! Once that's done got to get the following sorted..... Get a set of 95-96 toledo heater controls or standard corrado ones 2 x ABS sensors Moonroof, to fix my broken one / replacement cables Then back on with the MS conversion... 8)

Always wondered what a burgundy C looked like with crystals.... 8)

Yeah it is, and you might be able to use the frequency function on a multimeter. never done it myself, as I've always had an oscilloscope to hand...

Those wheels and stance look :afro:

Terrible, some other stuff has come up so kinda on hold at the mo. Hopefully get my fuel rail in March, but will have to see....
