  1. Well, I've made a decision on what I'm gonna do to the old girl, so this is the plan......it may take some time, but that's what its all about... Going to junk the KE Jetronic management, and fit Megasquirt using the following Stage 1 ABF inlet manifold, throttle body, injectors and fuel rail Custom 36-1 toothed crank wheel Ford EDIS coil pack and hall sensor Wideband Lambda sensor Megasquirt MSnS Extra Will have control over fuelling and spark. This is the first stage, and getting that up and running shouldn't be too difficult. Once that's done and I'm happy with it... Stage 2 Low comp pistons Standard rods Standard crank balanced with flywheel Modified S2 inlet manifold Modified S2 / Custom Exhaust manifold T3 (possible T3/T4) Turbo Intercooler and pipework Also have a list as long as your arm for the interior and exterior, but primarily... Late Black dashboard Seat Toledo heater controls AND much to all your approval... COILOVERS! I don't want to spend the earth on the coilovers, but will I need ones with damping adjustment to stop the rear wheels catching the arches? They still cathc from time to time, but they are rolled so it just rubs the side wall of the tyre a bit.
  2. I'm with the "leave it brigade", at least there might be one out there as tatty as mine!
  3. Happy brithday dude! Loving the cake 8)
  4. Well that's a challenge then! I'll see what I can do!
  5. Cool! Cheers dude. Does it have to be one with aircon?
  6. Yeah there is some stuff in both the search and the wiki, but it says that part of the Corrado dials needs to be put in the Passat ones i.e. the knob and worm gear for the heater speed. Is it necessary to use them as I don't have existing corrado dial type controls???
  7. Same as mine, since I changed my thermostat and water pump too
  8. I've just got myself a black dash (finally!), but it is from a VR, so the heater control mountings are different, as they are for the later dial type, and mine has the early slider type. The dash didn't come with any of the switch gear or heater controls, so I need to get a set. My question is, can I use Passat or Seat heater controls (far cheaper than Corrado ones)? Are they the same? The rest of the illumination in my C is red, so I'd need ones that can be either converted to illuminate red or are red already (Seat). Also would be juts a matter of getting a new set of bowden cables and some wiring jiggery pokey to fit them?
  9. As far as costing is concerned, most shift lights are around £100, so how would £40 - 50 sound??
  10. Will be searching for the rpm signal in the Corrado wiring loom this week, then should crack on quite swiftly with it. On/off switch definately a must, as it could be very irritating if not always required
  11. You'd be able to set it to whatever RPM you wanted, it wouldn't be fixed. So bright lights would be a must then?
  12. Right guys, Please see our custom shift light system that can be integrated into standard cluster. These are available for DIY fitment or we also offer a fitting service where it is integrated into your cluster - no need to cut wires or anything! They are fully programmable, via a single dash mounted push button. DIY - £67.50 inc P+P Fitted - £95 inc P+P If you would like one, just send me a PM and I'll sort it out! 13. I'm up for it. Question is what do you do if you get more than 100 entrants? You could give any extra cash over the £1500 mark to the afore mentioned charities....?
  14. My missus has just gone out to her 306 and the handbrake wont release. The actual handle is free, as if it has nothing attached to it, but every time she trys to reverse the back of the car just rises in that typical peugeot torsion bar kinda way! Could it be the heat? She can't move the car forward as its in a car port and is only about 9 inches away from the wall!
  15. Interestlingly, just had a chat with a collegue about what happens when you burn Hydrogen. Now I was under the impression that when you burn hydrogen you get an implosion rather than an explosion, due to the fact the you start with H2 + half 02 and it produces H20. So you start with 1 and half molecules and end up with one. BUT, when you burn hydrogen it produces a lot of heat and therefore you get steam as the by product rather than water, which takes up a lot greater volume, thus giving an explosion. Hydrogen fueled engine operate pretty much the same as normal petrol combustion engines. 2p
  16. I like your thinking there matey, I can't see the valves staying fully closed, in which case the vacuum would dissipate very quickly.
  17. I'm sure I read in the "blarb" about the Joe Cell that you couldn't use it on a engine with any type of electronic controller? Something to do with the charging of the water system and hence the engine buggering about with it, which would explain why the engines in the videos are all carburettur (sp?) based?? In which case can you use your Corrado at all??
  18. I might be open minded about many things, but this all seems a little far fetched, so I thought I'd ask a friend of mine at work who has a PhD in Chemistry...... "Its a load of twaddle mate" where his words, and call me stupid, but if a Dr of chemistry (from Cambridge Uni) tells me its a load of rubbish then I'm inclined to agree. I'd love to be proved wrong though....
  19. Looking good dude! Loving the rims and your clocks look like mine now 8) 8) See I don't understand, you're running Koni/H&R setup like mine, but yours is way lower than mine! I don't get it???
  20. Those rims aren't too small, and look sweet dude! 8) Azev A's??
  21. They look rather nice actually. Polished rims are a nightmare in the winter cos of the saft, my borbets are now looking a little worse for wear, so having winter wheels would be a good idea.
  22. I'd take your receipt back to the dealer, and have a word with the manager and just bring his attention to the fact that his staff don't know there ar$e from their elbow!!!
  23. I've got a Clifford....happy with it (although given the choice gain I'd go for a Cobra or an Autowatch) Which ever one you get, make sure you get reputable fitter to fit it. Well established independents retails are normally a good bet.
