i would replace the engine mounts ASAP. not difficult should only take about 30 minutes to do. soak all nuts/bolts with wd40 or plusgas before, it will make the job easier..

im pretty sure that is not a standard alarm as vw build them into the car, take a pic and show us. but if you havent got the paperwork to prove its a cat1/2 alarm its pretty useless for insurance purposes.

it would have to be Eleanor from gone in sixty seconds, love that car, and a DB9 for every day driving, and also a bowler wild cat, for messing around in the 40 acre garden, :D

have ya taken the 2 bolts out from under the scuttle panel?? they are hard to see, have a torch and a mirror at hand, and you will soon have that dash out.

thanks for all the replys guys, got a bloody sore back and shoulders. my car is being picked up in the morning for the assesment, but i will most def be staying on here?? but i will show you all why on friday/saturday :wink:

just realised what ive done on the car in the last month, new bulbs in headlights/fogs/indicators, new plugs/leads, new gearbox mount, new bonnet release cable, and had new windscreen fitted last tuesday. just waiting for the car to be picked up soon, looks like the intrested party may be getting my bbs rc's early.. :cry:

yeh i dont think i can do anything about that, at least the woman was ok. i do have full cover with everything protected. so i will see what happens :cry:

cant believe it ive had my first crash in 18 years, and it had to be in my favourite car, driving to work this morning i heard a siren going, i looked in my rear view mirror then my drivers mirror, looked back at the road and the car in front had slammed there brakes on because they also heard the sirens. i had no time to stop with the roads being do wet, and smash, im ok its just my car is f****d, do ya think it will be a write off?? :censored: :cry:

ok im about 90% sure that im gonna get these alloys. just gotta find somewhere more local than essex to try them on the car, gonna miss the RC's but, please dont get me wrong, there a lot of cars out there with lookalikes. and i want something different, and after seeing mr renshaws vette wheels, that made my mind up for me, just need to sell the BBS RC's but i allready have an intrested party, :wink:

im relly tempted, yeh they are copies but they dont look to bad a copy. i have just spoken to the bloke at the shop, and the price is for a budget brand tyre, or for another £50 the tyres will be upgraded to toyo proxes or avon zz3. oh yeh on the link below it says 214/45/17s. but he will put 205/40/17s on. what do i do??? :? http://www.bmautosport.co.uk/detail.php?siteid=161

thinking of changing my rc's next year but what for?? ive seen these babys but what do you guys reckon £550 with tyres, plus some adaptors. oh yeh there 7.5 x 17s :)

thanks so far with the help guys, midland vw did the mounts for me. and the engine hardly moves at all so its not that, a work mate said it could be a flat spot? how can you tell as it revs fine when parked up. :(

well i have had auto glass here for the last 2 hours doing my windscreen, thats with all the expert tools, so i would not do it myself :wink:

sorry, this always seems to happen when i am lifting off the clutch after i have selected the next gear :(

this only happens when im changing gear, all the rest of the time its fine, ive checked the clutch and its not slipping, really confused :(
