Hi Chris Do you have a decent 90mm splitter hanging around ?
-
Hi Hasan Thanks for the reply but time is against Me this year for a complete refurb. I have manipulated the glass on the Mk 3 unit and it does not look bad to be honest and all works. Yet to see if its water tight or wind proof but it is a fair weather car anyway so hope it will be ok.
-
Hi Grah If you check my posts you will see the full problem there. Really just after a working unit as I don't want to waste too much summer time sorting it out hoping the mk3 unit will do it .
-
In reply to Graham 1971 on previous page. Still have my Nugget G60,she is having sunroof problems at the Mo but once done and motted will be back on the tarmac this summer, happy to meet up sometime. I am from Newport, you may have seen the banana about last year ?
-
Hi Fella`s Had my sunroof collapse on one side the other day and just in the middle of taking it out this weekend ! It has a lot of damage from what I see after removing the sunroof panel itself. The main culprit is a cable gone on the passenger side but also all the screw holes that hold the metal roof on to the sliders have all split the metal ! Cutting to the chase has anybody used a Golf Mk3 mech with the metal roof. I had one donated last year, not tested yet but looks in decent condition. Also will the corrado inside trim panel still work with it. Any help would be great. Cheers

Thanks all for the help. Turned out someone had cut the threaded stud bar short so it would not reach the body. Had a bolt here the same thread size so cut and grinded, now stays in place but grommets are still buggered so if anybody has any knocking about that will be great. They now stay up but move around a bit in the holes LOL.
-
Thanks both. There are no nuts on the end of my studs should there be ? Thought they just went through the clips ?
-
Are the bolts adjustable for length Chris as mine is just short of the bracket but the passenger side goes in comfortable ?
-
No M8. Is the bolt removable or length adjustable as the passenger fits fine ? Sorry I haven't even checked this as I work 12 hours and not had time to get the seat out. I don't want to sound dull but never looked into it until I realised it was loose. Lucky for Me I have had no more than Me and the Mrs in the car !
-
Culshaw you were spot on M8 After having a better look the stud on the bottom of the seat is not quite long enough on the drivers side to fit the bracket on the body . The clip is broken due to this ! Are they adjustable ? The passenger is fitting fine. I am wondering that when the car was done they fitted a new rear bench which I provided from the later model as I wanted to remove the rear arm rest bulge. Were they different on the later models ? Thanks all we are getting there now. Problem I have was I was hoping for a photo of someone else's seat maybe fitted and one of a seat not in the car so I can see what's missing. I will take a photo now. I don't think there is any sort of hex clip there. Really pi**ed they botched it but the garage went bust (can see why !)about 4 months ago !!
-
No problem It's the drivers side back part not the sit on It fell forward because it's not locking in on the top hook due to the bottom pin not fitting into the hole on the rear panel side. Will try to take a pic later today. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk

Anyone !

Hi Fella`s After the garage that sprayed my car 18 months ago botched my rear seat when refitting ( only found out when I braked suddenly and the back seat just dropped down without me touching it ) Hoping that someone will have a set of seats out so I can get a pic or two so I can see how they attach on the bottom spindles( on the hook side )to the body. I only have a threaded bar sticking out of the seat and it does not reach the holder that its suppose to attach to. Any pics or help would be great.

My mates still got one And. He is 51 now,had it since He was 22. He always loved the Italian cars right back to his old Fiat 131 twin cam. Its a lefty but still good money for it. I do envy Him Lol

Rado87 and sanky(any Names would be great) Aux belt is rubber and we are on the same thinking as the tension pully was changed due to m/ment and the mechanic said it could be that but no. I only have the dash oil light and that goes straight out so if that's oil psi then assume pump is ok. But another to keep in mind. I understand Sanky but until its back from the garage I wont be able to do the Vid. Hopefully next week sometime I should be able to sort it so will update then. Cheers Fellas

If anyone has any other theories please mention them as I am hoping for some suggestions before it goes in the garage for the work. Cheers

Cars in having some rot removed at the Mo but as soon as I get it back I will post a vid. I am wondering if its sticking cam followers, not had a chance to take the cover off yet but a mechanic suggested this to Me and was hoping someone would come up with this so I could go ahead and get it checked ?

Not the exhaust shield Bud deffo engine. You can hear it when driving( especially bouncing off walls etc) but also when just revving on the spot.

Hi All Wanted to ask for advice before paying loads a labour trying to find a problem that could be many issues. I have a tinny rattle that comes in from 2300 revs up to about 3000 before it becomes inaudible. It sounds top side and high pitched not low but can't be sure. I had an engine fitted last year with no history to it from a breakers yard,it runs fine and pulls like a train. I don't do much mileage in her as She is a summer/show car only. The rattle has appeared only recently, unless it was there but has got worse. Any help would be great. Cheers

Hi Guys. Deffo going for a long drive up next year ,unable to make it this year due to a rotting bottom arch repair. I have to be up there as I need to make a statement for the Nugget Corrado. Could not see one in the pics so think I could have added nicely to what was already a stunning collection. If someone can give me the heads up when to book with a p.m that would be much appreach.
