Just noticed on http://www.deutscheperformance.co.uk they have a pipercross induction kit for the k-jetronic 1.8 16v engine which apparantly replaces the bottom half of the airbox with a cone type filter. is anyone using this mod at the minute, if so let us know how it sounds and performs compared to the original, as i dont know whether to go for this or the trusty k&n panel and a few choice holes in the box, but i would prefer a better induction roar similar to my old Mk3 Vr6......(not much chance of that :( )

Had a mark 3 vr6 a couple of years ago which was running 200 bhp, (lowered, 17's, scorpion, bilsteins, 57i) it sounded fantastic, looked cool and went like a rocket) now i have a 1.8 16v Corrado as a second car which doesnt go like a rocket, doesnt sound awesome but looks far better than the Golf ever did even tho apart from 17s and being lowered is standard, so tell me WHY????? you have it all and you want to go and spoil it!!! :cry:

Just replaced the sump on a chicken cento which is similar in design as the sump was that rusty the oil had started to seep through it, easy job about an hour and half in total, youll have to take off the plates that cover the gearbox bell to get at the sump bolts above em, the only awkward bolt is ontop of the plate near the drive shaft but a long extension should sort that for you, by the way I dont own one of these cars just doing a job for a friend.

Ive had my 1.8 16v for the best part of a week but purchased it with a broken passenger door handle thinking quick visit to the breakers yard for a quick fix...............errr no, obviously now i know this is a common fault on my newly purchased baby and there about as common as hens teeth and rather expensive to boot, but in my ringing round everyone has said that the corrado and passat door handles can be swapped for each other without the change of the mechanism aslong as the pin is taken out from the handle itself and the lever is replaced with the corrado item from the broken door handle. Has anyone done it this way before or am I listening to fairy stories??? :oops:
