  1. They may be SUPPOSED to be limited to 56mph but I have lost count of the times that HGV's both 7.5 tonners and artics have overtaken me at 60 or even 70mph. The speeed limiters on them are VERY easilt disconnected.
  2. Nope mate, I had a 16V to G60 converted rado the swap was done originally by Pau1 on here before I had it and flusted on here has just done a G60 conversion on his 16V, so there are no issues whatsoever mate. I would speak to them if you require technical advice, Cheers and HTH
  3. Driven both an Audi A3 3.2 and A4 2.0 TSi, very impressed with both mate, Cheers
  4. Hey all, Been offered one of these for pretty reasonable money. It's a 1995 M reg, Audi 100 Avant 2.8 V6, 130,000 miles, full Audi SH, 2-owners. Just needs a bit of TLC, a good clean and a dent in wind sorted. What are people's thought's on these bad-boy's ? Any specific things I should look for / at if I go to view ? Cheers BigTartanJudge
  5. Gorgeous car, lovely pics, but......get that ITG foam induction kit offa that car ASAP ! PM sent toffeerado.....
  6. Welcome back mate, doesn't have to be a G60 tho, could easily find a cheap 16V for a grand or thereabouts I would have thought ?
  7. Apparently they are supposed to be, but they are not stretch bolts so can't see why they have to be renewed when rims rebult. I have rebuilt 2 sets of split rims using the original (albeit chemically stripped and ball-burnished) bolts with no probs at all. Cheers
  8. ET50 won't fit without fouling inners of susp / brakes etc. ET40 is really the limit as slangwerks stated above, spot on is ET35 as you know. Just get some 20mm hubcentric spacers and job done mate. Or buy some really nice polished Borbet C's with the correct ET35 offset......;-)
  9. I know it's not corrado related, but seeing as it's VW thought you huys might be able to help. A girl from my work has acquired a MK3 Golf GTI 8V P reg. It seems to have a problem with the alarm system though. The alarm is a Foxguard, no model number on the black box at all. I seem to remember that these were factory-fitted possibly ? The car will be fine, but the alarm seems to have a tendency to go off spontaneously when driving along. I thought about disconnecting it from the multi-plug connector but not confident as think that the alarm system also incorporates an immobilser so if disconnected she might end up with a proper DEAD car. Just looking for some advice on what the problem might be (have checked all connections, wiring and pin switches etc.), how to rectify or if it's safe to diconnect the system temporarily till problem is diagnosed at auto-electricians. Cheers BigTartanG60
  10. Welcome to the forum, looks like a nice example mate, no comment on the Calibra though, I have my reasons.......;-)
  11. Heated front seats prob £75-£100 more inc. the switches mate. I actually need a set of front seats in black leather..........
  12. I think you'll see a fair bit more than just a 15 BHP increase TBH, with a SNS chip, 68mm pulley, exhaust, and manifold. Chip, pulley and exhaust alone usually gives at least 30BHP (plus large corresponding increase in torque) plus a 4-branch manifold will help even more, poss. power would approach the 200 BHP mark. With a crap Jabbasport chip, 68 mm pulley, ISV re-route, stainless exhaust inc. decat (didn't have manifold) and small Audi 100 Quattro intercooler (better than standard tho) my old white G60 pulled 208 BHP...... Cheers and HTH
  13. I THINK they are one and the same, never seen a separate relay for the windows and broke a complete corrado a few years back and never had that part. But if it is the windows controller you need, I have a spare one....;-)
  14. If your leather is mint and complete i.e. doorcards included and no real wears, rips, tears or scratches etc. then normal (not heated or elec), go for £550-£650, so yeah ;-)
  15. complete mint late cloth Recaro interiors with heat and electric adjustment go for between £700-£850, Cheers and HTH
  16. Magnex (similar to OEM shape, great quality, not too loud, just nice and fits properly too) or Bastuck, slightly more expensive than others but great build quality and fit apparently.
  17. According to this website: http://www.xs4all.nl/~luukb/achist.html GENUINE AC Cobra's were built up until 1985, poss later. And, even cars built up until late 90s are considered as GENUINE as they are hand-built by the AC Car Company LTD (later, AC Car Company), not out of a airfix box by some middle-aged guy, having a midlife-crisis..... However, thread was about how nice a car it is and how it doesn't compare to the Rover 100 Cabrio, not about a potted history of the manufacturer really.
  18. Well TBH there is not alot of difference at all between the AC Cobra's built in the 60s and ones built in the 80s / 90s. He let me have a good look round all the bits of the car, and things are dated but functional, like they were back then I guess [seeing as I defo wasn't around to check ;-)]
  19. No Bill, there were still genuine AC Cobra's being made up until around 1998 and in fact, I believe they are still made to this day. In 1996, in a multi million pound deal, AC Car Group LTD. became the sole producer of the GENUINE AC Cobra. Sure, there are PLENTY copies made with several different KITS available, using a vaiety of cheap, readily available V8 lumps, e.g. Rover 3.5L V8 or Ford / Chevy 5.0L V8's. But the AC Cobra is definetely not a simple KIT-CAR. The car combines modern engineering and classic craftsmanship e.g. the body-shell is mounted on a traditional ladder chassis, with the standard version includes a hand-trimmed leather interior with deep-pile carpeting. Authentic AC Cobra's ARE rare (like 50 built a year). There is a lightwieght one for sale at the moment, 48 genuine miles, built in 1994, offers in region of £140,000..........
  20. Well the assistant-MD of Stena Drilling might beg to differ on that one, as he seemed to know a great deal about AC and their history / history of his particualr car, but anyways, just thought of something else amusing, reg on Rover 100 cabrio reads "PUS", quite apt I think really ! ;-)
  21. Was lucky enough to see this car and speak to the owner (assistant MD of offshore drilling company so not exactly short of a few bob or two) about it few days ago, it's his toy and he uses it only in summer etc. Original AC Cobra, spit's blue flames out both side-exit exhausts, awesome note to it and a very rare classic. Then I was swiftly brought back down to earth later in the day when I saw this contraption.........prob pretty rare as well.........but not quite as nice I think. Cheers
  22. Just wondering if you have a G60 or VR6 mate, if you have a G60 how are you going to fit them to your rado as adapters don't exist for 4x100PCD-5x120PCD ? Have always liked these and think they would be really nice on a rado but potentially only VR6 due to fitment ? Think they would be ace with black centres and the polished outer with stainless bolts, kinda like these ones ?
  23. BigTartanJudge

    Rims ?

Yeah like wise, got some 17's for sale ;-)
  24. I would expect a g60 would make somewhere between 190-200bhp with just these mods, pretty good considering the relatively small outlay (bout £180-£200).
  25. And here it is ;-) http://s19.photobucket.com/albums/b177/ ... Sieger.flv
