cheers, I'll try putting the pin in back in tonight. Phoned a couple of breakers and no one had a passat, so I had to go to the stealers! £45, Jeez!!! Suppose it was a bit of a bonus that they had one in stock though.

Ok, so I had nothing to do today, so I thought i'd find the cause of a rattle in my door trim. Took the door card off and hey presto, the speaker was rattling. Bolted this down securely, and problem solved. However, managed to know the door pin rod out of the lock and cant bl**dy see where its supposed to go. the access hole is tiny! Do I have to take the lock out to put this back in? Also, the electric mirror adjuster broke in my hand as i took it out, with tiny springs and plastic going everywhere. No idea how to put it back together and i think a spring went awol anyway. Anyone know if these are still available from the stealers, or anyone got one spare? ARRRGGHH! Fixed one problem only to create myself 2 more!!!! Cheers all, hope you had a good weekend.

Blimey, dont think I'll be buying EBC stuff then. Anyone got any suggestions for disc and pad upgrade. Really want the drilled/ grooved look!
-
Personally, Id get the brakes done i.e look at getting uprated discs and pads and a brake fluid change As my old workshop teacher told me on my first day "The first thing you must know about every machine in here, is how to switch the f**kers off." Call me old fashioned but i'd much rather be able to stop quickly than accelerate quickly. Sorry Nick, I know that sounds boring! Anyone got any opinions on EBC brakes? Especially their discs

Flo is actually my nickname at work. Its usually said in the following way "Yo Flo, Mo' Fo', whats happnin' with Mr(insert name)'s car. Its been 2 weeks and you were only doing a geometry!" And you think i'm joking... -
One click down from the top. I find that my hands hit my knees when i turn the wheel on any of the lower positions. It would be great to have reach adjustment then i can get a perfect position. Still the driving position is a trillion times better than the 206 GTI I test drove for my bird earlier this year. I felt like i was driving a transit.

Err, well strictly speaking, yes they are illegal. The 100w bulbs i've bought say 'off road use only'. Not sure how easily they could tell, especially if the MOT is done during the daylight, but if they fail it, I'll just stick the old bulbs back in.

Just fitted Gavin's headlight loom tonight. Very quick and easy to do. Combined with Halfords 100w Rally bulbs, it is flipping awesome! Cheers Gavin!

Check the main engine harness at the top of the N/S of the engine. Had some similar problems myself when 2 of the wires chaffed their plastic shielding off, allowing them to touch and short out. We diagnosed it by having the engine on and wiggling all the wires we could find in the engine bay until it started misfiring! Give that a go.

Ok, so will the shrick Manifold thats for sale on ebay at the moment fit my car ( 94 VR6) which has the later style ODB2 connector. The gumpf on the sale page says it is for an ODB 1?
-
ooh.. can it be replaced without changing the whole unit?
-
Mechanics yes. Electrics, haven't got a Danny la Rue. Would love a bit of advice. My '94 VR has got a VAG 5000 (Actually made by scorpion) fitted from the dealer, with full closure etc. As from today, the O/S indicators have given up flashing when i unlock the car. However, whenever I use the indicators during driving, whether it be to turn or to use my hazards, they are absolutely fine. And strangely when I lock the car using the fob, they all flash fine. Its only when i unlock the car afterwards they stop working on the O/S and subsequently stop working when i lock after that!!! but if i turn the car on, and then off again, they suddenly start working when i lock the car! and then when i unlock, they give up again...etc.... Its not causing me any problems at the moment, but arrrggghhh, how annoying. and even worse, I have no idea where to start. Any ideas would be very much appreciated. Thank you all in advance

According to my local VW specialist, the last corrado ever made was a British spec green storm, which is on display/stored at the factory(VW factory, not at Karman coachworks), with delivery miles! how much could that be worth in this country
-
anywhere between 100 and 114 I get in my VR6. But when I've been caning it down the country lanes, I have read it at 120. But never over that no matter how hard i've been driving. So, I guess, your within the limits. The manual actually says if you hit 140 stop the car!
-
thats a great link! I exclaimed out aloud when i saw how ingenoius the camshaft arrangement for the 24v VR6 engine was. You cant beat the germans (and dub engineers) on some things.

carpoid, did you go see this car recently. I saw a very similar car in milton keynes a couple of years ago, 2.0 16v black with grey interior. The guy claimed it had been left in a garage for 5 years and only had 25Kish miles on. After hamering it about for a bit, something niggled at me to HPI the car and it turned out to be a write off. The only difference is that it had BBS cross spokes on. Wondering if its the same car.

Today, coming towards me up the hill, by the ferrari dealership in Sevenoaks. A very clean and good looking N plate Black(I think) VR6, we nodded and smiled at each other. If its anyone on here, I apologise for the dirtiness of my car. I felt embarressed to be letting the side down.

Anyone here ever lined up with someone on the lights thinking of an easy victory, only to be completely wasted? Worst for me was a Seat Leon Cupra R. Jesus they move! Stupidly didn't realise they push out 225bhp until i checked it out afterwards. Got hammered by an E46 M3, but that was my own fault. Even a 330i gave me a run for my money, but had him as i changed into 3rd! My mate in his Renault 5 GT Turbo kept up with me up to 50ish but as I heard him change into 3rd, he disappeared from view!

SE london really, but i dont mind travelling as long as they do a good job. Last time sent it to a VW garage, who shall remain nameless, and I had to send the car back 5 times before they got it right and they had the car for 5months overall. Never Ever again!

Ok, I know someones going to say , "just use the search", but i have and trawling through that is gonna take forever! Engine jumps up and down through gear changes, so with my expert analysis, have decided to order a VT front mount! Now, the 'bible' has told me what the three bolts are torqued to, but is there a specific way I should go about this? i.e which order shall i do the bolts up, where shall I put the jack to hold the engine up, what shall I wear as my fit neighbour might be watching? Also, acces from underneath looks very limited with the low front spoiler and god knows how i'm gonna use the torque wrench for the top bolt of the mount. Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated, or even just a link to a previous thread! Also some brainless idiot swiped my car last week  , 'luckily', if thats the right word, they only took the paint off the wing. Anyone know any muts nuts bodyshops in the SE.
