God I feel thick LOL, thanks anyway

I've removed one of the plastic guides on my VR6 but how do I get the front one off is it glued down or use clips? Cheers
-
Ok cheers, wasn't sure about the radiator, whether it would have to be removed as well. I've got a spline socket set as I needed some to remove the drive shafts. Cheers
-
Can this be done without having to remove anything else? regards
-
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but I bought the gearbox off Vince 10 days ago for £550 and it was brand new. He might have another but didn't mention having another one. This exact same thing happened to me, a nice hole in the clutch bell housing, waste of time getting it reconned as most of the internals will be f*cked. I refused to pay someone to do it so I did it by myself on axel stands and surprisingly it isn't that difficult but it depends on how mechanically minded you are. I mean I've never changed a 'box before on a normal car, I know of another box around thats been reconned if your interested it's £545 + VAT but you might get it VAT free if you pay cash  Good luck any way as I really feel your pain. Thats the picture of the 'box I bought.

Do GSF do Jetex ones as well? If anybody has comments on what filters sound like in comparison to the K & N please post away
-
Steve can you get me some prices for just the cone filter, I have looked on GSF but they only show the 57i induction kits not just the cone. So a price for both the pipercross and K & N would be much appreciated :D
-
Oops sorry about that I wasn't aware that that was his personal one.
-
I'm sure they don't cover damaged filters?
-
Can anyone tell me where I can get one as mine is damaged, all I can seem to find is the induction kits? Or even if a pipercross fits that would be fine Cheers PS I did search all over for this but to no evail  PPS Forgot to mention it's a VR6

Cheers for all the help I'll think I'll go for the hammerite for now :-P

Probably the Elise, then the Corrado the TVR was a bit of a liability to be honest. But the Corrado was the best all rounder by far as a complete package -

Here's my car pics, notice I always take my cars to the same place, sad I know!!! Sorry about the quality these are scans of photo's, no digital then. I think the VR6 looks the best, opinions? -
Yeah I was aware of Harry Halfords doing the reall brake caliper paint but I've read somewhere that there's other paint that is much cheaper, it's doing my head in that I can't remember where I read the bloody thing.
-
Yeah I just got a Corrado gearbox from Vince @ Stealth, absolutely mint, approx about a 10000 miler. Had to take photo's of bell housing for when I sell it as no one would believe how clean it is.
-
I've searched all over but can't find any advice on what paint to use, I was sure I seen a thread on this somewhere before but unable to find it here, maybe somewhere else. Cheers
-
I thought as much and I've just fitted a new gearbox as well, cheers Andy for the help
-
On fitting a new front engine mount in my VR6 I found this bracket just lying about, not sure where the hell it's come from. Any idea's and is it really necessary? That's the earth coming through it from the alternator. Cheers
-
Ok cheers for that

I'm currently in the process of making my VR6 into excellent condition as I'm going to sell up, the problem being is that I want to remove all the exterior black trim and spray it black as it looks crap faded black. I know how to remove all of it bar the roof rail or would it be best to just tape around the roof and spray it in situ? Cheers Will
-
Put it on stands so you can get a good look underneath and then run it up if you can't see where it's coming from when on the ground.
-
Yeah wheels off to get at the bleed nipples.
-
They look exactly like mine don't you think? Edit: After a closer look they don't look exactly like mine oh well
-
Its a shame that my bell housing has got a largish hole in it, I suppose I could repair it. So basically the internals are the same then? G60 internals = VR6 internals P.S. You've got the same Momo M1's as me on my purple VR6
