Very, very nice C, pearl green, that's the one that was for sale in Clapham isn't it? Looked mint. Welcome to the forum.
-
Yeah, I meant to say early VR6's, as that was what I was looking for at the time. I didn't think the later green VRs were as nice as the pearl green VRs, wouldn't say no to a storm though...
-
Not normally keen on green cars, but there is something about pearl green on the C. Car looks great! Pearl green was only on the early C's wasn't it? I came very close to getting a PG C, but the guy was asking way too much for it, was a lovely motor though. Car looks really nice Ady.

See this thread could be helpful, Oakley had the same problem, poor fuel consumption and had to replace lambda probe: http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic.php?t=16507

Ohh sounds good! Silver is rare... with black leather rarer... and its an N reg... hmmmmmm... and all the electrics work! Somebody will want that combo, has lots of potential.... will probably need to post more details etc. Prev owners, who serviced it and any services missing etc, how long you have owned the car, last major service etc etc... Agree with Pablo though, probably about 5.5k, but could get more as there are not many of that combination about. I would certainly advertise it a little higher then not accept anything less than 5.5k. Somebody on here was lookin for a silver c not too long ago as well, this was within his budget too.

Very nice. Sits very well on those wheels and looks subtley lowered. Looks mint too. Hope mine looks something like that by next spring.

Wow, nice C, any more pics? Pic of Brembo's with those wheels? I love those seats too. It will be an awesome C! ?

Excellent thanks kevhaywire, I have passed on details, so it's up to him now! Brentacre sound really good, should definatley be added to the general insurance sticky - maybe there should be a sticky just on speciallist insurers and pros and cons, as I guess most cars on here have been modded in some way. Anyway, wIll consider Brentacre when I start a bit of engine tinkering, for now I need to get my bodywork sorted. Many thanks

CHeersBANANA MAN, do you recognise the details below, are they swansea based? Can anybody confirm this? Insurance Company Name: Brentacre Insurance Services Ltd Telephone: 01792 650933 Address: 98 Mansel St, Swansea, SA1 5UE

Hi, thanks, anybody got Brentacre details, it's not in the insurance sticky contacts. Maybe could be added if they are good. Are they the swansea based insurers? Will forward privilage details too, thanks.

Hi, I know there are plenty of insurance questions and I have been through a lot of threads, but just want to get some advice on behalf of a friend. This friend has a 1.8 16v and has just bought a VR6 engine to drop into it... now the insurance has doubled because of it. The insurer says that it is a performance modification, which it is, but it is also a completely std engine as found in any VR6. Any idea as to which insurers are likely to look kindly on the above and give a reasonable quote? I've given him Adrian Flux's details, anybody else? If this fails, then he is going to sell his 1.8 16v and buy a vr6. So potentially there could be a mint (recent full respray) corrado and a VR6 engine for sale. I recon he should stick it out as he has spent so much money on his car already would be a shame to give up now. But all depends on insurance. Many thanks

Euro car parts mats dont have the fixing bits at the back do they? Considering getting original, as I still like the look of them despite quality, then buying a rubber mat for the drivers side, to keep corrado mats fresh. I mean nothing really happens to the passenger ones, I guess? Many thanks
-
Hi how much are geniune mats at VW, are they still available. Just that I have seen them on ebay and they are going at over £60, thought that was a bit expensive? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 05000&rd=1 Cheers Ford

Brilliant thanks, that changes things and makes things very interesting!! I guess this means that I can now get a cat back system like the ones we have been discussing and not worry about replacing the cat, which was adding serious money to my choice of exhaust. Or I could just fix up my current powerflow. Great news, puts my mind at rest, wont worry so much about the next MOT, well at least the cat part of it anyway.... Many thanks!
-
Plus do emmissions test and see what the guys at the MOT centre say... what ever happens the tailpipe is going in the bin!
-
8) thanks for all the advice, better get my ass down to the breaker and check out that cat and go from there...
-
Thanks for that, I am tempted. However axle down, are we talking big labour costs? THat sounds like a major job. What are these goodridge hoses all about then? I've not heard of them, how do they benefit the car? £225 for all the bits I need for a VAG exhaust doesnt sount too bad? It's the labour that is going to hurt isnt it?
-
kevhaywire, hell, this makes it more the more important to salvage this cat!!! Any comments on recovering the whole VAG exhaust as well, or is it a waste of time. Should I rather save my pennies (beg, steal and borrow) for the supersprint cat back? coolrado, will see if he can take if off on the w/e and will be inspecting it really closely...
-
Holy s###.... £430, if its that much I wonder how much a supersprint full system would cost with a cat. Definately got to salvage this cat from the breaker!!!! Will see if this VAG idea is feasible if not then will start saving for the best... supersprint....
-
Thanks Kev and Coolrado, this sounds really encouraging. If the VAG one is so good then should I try and salvage this one from down the road, it looks decent. Would there be anything to worry about? I guess labour costs might be reasonably high considering it has to be removed, mine has to be removed and then the old one welded onto my car. Still sound like a good idea?
-
Okay, I could get a second hand cat. A guy I know is breaking a C down the road and it still has the exhaust. I could grab the cat off it. How long is a cats life. Car been broken is an L reg, so I dont want to just go through all this again, if it only has a life of 10 years or something. Then once I have the cat is it easy to fit. Say I got a cat back system, would the secondhand cat and the system go on pretty easy? As powerflow is a custom exhaust, I am not sure whats happened under there and what would be required. The other option would maybe be to take the whole exhaust from the car being broken and start again. I know this means cutting the exhaust out, because of the axle. But do you recon this is feasible/an option or for the trouble/cost or am I better off getting a decent system like the ones mentioned above. MoonlightVR, will check out supersprint too, there seems to be a lot of talk about these systems lately. Do they fit as well as a magnex. Cost a lot more for a supersprint? I guess I would have to salvage an old cat before considering this too. Cheers
-
Ouch, so Magnex is more than £400 with the cat, big money. Would like to play ignorance on MOT day, but it could be a risk I guess. Esp if I am going to pay money for a tail pipe etc. Also if I ever came to sell the car, it could be a problem I guess? Thanks Pablo, yep powerflow seems like a really good exhaust, its only the tail I am not happy with. I might check out your highflow cat suggestion, could be onto a winner there and can get tail done by them as well, something a little more subtle. They seem to do some decent pipes - maybe a boxter pipe or something. Will try out Kev's suggestion first and see how the emissions go. many thanks :D :D
-
coolrado, Oakley, both of you knew what I meant!!
-
Sorry mistake you know what I mean... 1992... Many thanks for the advice kevhaywire. So maybe it is worth carrying out an emissions test before I decide to change the pipe and see if it is okay. Otherwise I am looking at a Magnex which includes the cat, but without the front pipes. So is that the system that I have seen for just over £300? Many thanks!
-
Hi, my C currently has a powerflow exhaust fitted to it. I want to change it as I dont like the huge pipe at the back. But it has been decatted and this does not meet current regulations, esp as my car was registered in December 1992, a few months after the regulations came in to force (August 92). So, it should'nt really pass its MOT, but somehow it has sneaked through these past couple of years. So if I am looking to change the exhaust do I need a manifold back system, i.e. the whole thing, including the catalyst? I have been looking at a few and I am keen on the Magnex, but this would be way over £400, just for the whole system!!! :( Please can you give me a few suggestions, anybody had to do this before? What is the cheapest or best option. Should I just stick with the powerflow and change the pipe at the back and hope for the best in the MOT? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
