    SEAT BOLSTERS !!!

Ice White Socks, brilliant thanks for that!
  3. Right done a web search and I can't find this Momo collar for VW Corrado that would fit the OEM gaitor anywhere. Any advice/source of this collar would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
  4. Hi, I have just got a gear knob to match my steering wheel, a MOMO race air knob. The combination looks really good. However, I have fitted it, but what should I do with the gaitor? As it is I have'nt done anything with it and it does not attach to the knob, there is a gap it just flaps about and looks really untidy. Anybody come up with some ingeniuos ways of attaching it to the knob? Should I just cut the metal ring on the gaitor and push the leather into the gear knob and tighten the bolts over it? Any advice would be great, no point in reinventing the wheel, or messing it up. Thanks!

    SEAT BOLSTERS !!!

Sorry to bring this thread back, but does anybody know if these bolster replacements (part: 535881378B) (right hand side of driver seat) are still available from VW dealers. Bit worried about this one as this thread was written more than a year ago! Many thanks.
  6. No way!! I would just scrap that wheel, and just put it down to experience. Look for another wheel on ebay, use the one you have for a while and just be patient, they are always popping up, look under golf MK3 GTI/VR6 too, same wheel. I found mine, which cost £42 and it is in mint condition, no scratches, wear or anything. Would be cheaper than recovering it surely. Good luck.
  7. Need to join the Corrado Club to benefit from parts club. Check out servicing and suppliers section for parts sticky.
  8. I have heard about and seen stats from, but never seen those autocar articles, very good site there Jedi, what a car! I love the comparison to the BMW.

    What to do????

A friend of mine had a Bora with 46k on the clock, immaculate. He took a ride in my C, and just from the sound of that VR6 engine in second gear and he was sold, two days later he owned his own C VR6 and is very, very happy with it. Bora sold. Corrado's aren't cheap to run and something always needs replacing on a 100k car, but the satisfaction you get from it and its rarity makes it 100% worth it!!!! I almost considered getting a low mile boring a-b car, so glad I didn't...

    Left wing mirror

If it doesnt work or if you throw it against a wall in frustration and it turns out you need a new mirror then give me a shout. There is a blue one down here, dont know how much the guy will want for it but probably not much, will need a respray which will set you back about £50. A last resort, but sounds like it will be okay though. Good luck.

    Leather advice...

Thanks for the advice, will investgate this. And its true, they would be so much better without the speakers. If I add in the cost of recovering the door cards, then what are we talking? Including covering two front seats for ~£400 as Jedi says, then am I looking at something like £600 including the door cards? Is £250 still a sensible price considering this? This push bike better fetch a lot of money on ebay... what else can I sell, my girlfriends bike.... will she notice...

    Leather advice...

I know I was absolutely gutted when I saw those door cards... might have to consider recovering them at a later date or keeping an eye out on ebay etc. For now I will just have to get some very plain, neat round mid range speakers (dont care about the sound as long as they look reasonably neat), the tweeters aren't too bad - at least they are tiny.

    Leather advice...

Thanks guys, very interesting. Was hoping that these seats would come up a bit further down the line as I really want to get my bodywork done first and I dont have anywhere to store them. So as this looks like a good deal, it seems like its leather seats first then body work. At least I will be comfortable in my trolley dented excuse for a corrado... How long does it usually take to do the seats? Thinking I may fit the rear seats and door cards and keep my current seats and just drop off the leather front seats at MJ's. Right now to tell the girlfriend and better find something to sell.... maybe the push bike, it is winter after all...

    Leather advice...

Hi, been offered a set of grey leathers, std not heated, for £250, from a mate. Includes all the grey plastics and the door cards. However, both the drivers and passenger bolsters will probably need recovering (dont look good at all - scratched/worn), so means I have to get both seats done. Also, whoever owned it put additional speakers in the front door cards - mid and tweeter a total of 3 speakers in each, may change the speakers for some subtle black ones, as getting the door cards done as well is going to cost. Whole lot needs a damn good cleaning too, I don't understand why people dont look after these seats? Anyway, the rear seats look good as do their door cards. I may keep the black plastics in mine, as I like the grey/black contrast, also I have a silver car. The question is would anyone think that £250 is worth it bearing in mind the work that is required to bring these seats back from the dead?
  15. Jedi, these guys do them for just under £138 incl vat... http://www.motorsportworld.co.uk/frame- ... prings.htm
  16. Are eibach springs any good, just found out that they are currently paired with my koni T/A shocks. Are they a good combination/better than koni springs? I guess H&R are the best to get are they?
  17. Thanks TomB a few more addresses to go on, nice one! Will get onto them... kvwloon, yeah I know, I was looking for a bit of a project car, and I liked the fact that it had a new engine from VW, that's why I got onto it. Glad I have my silverado now, even though she needs loads of work too, but that's part of the fun. I guess that car would have been a major drain on the bank acc. to put right. Thanks for your reassuring comments. Will keep you posted....
  18. Many thanks for all the advice and comments, really helpful. I love the idea of copying the plates gibber_2k, that's a classic! Will try the DVLA when the forms come through and go from there, we will get there eventually. But for what kvwloon, says sounds like I have saved a lot of money, makes me feel a bit better! May have just been the deposit but could have been a lot more! You mentioned that you looked at the same speck car a month earlier, it wasn't silver was it? He mentioned that his mate had a silver one. Anyway, I checked out the guys ebay record and it wasnt good, but only after I did the deal, it went down hill after that. I spoke to a guy yesterday, that had sold a volvo to these jokers and they completely messed him about. He gladly gave me all the details he had on them, including the girlfriends mobile, so trying to get through on that. Anyway will keep you posted on events, thanks again, off to copy some number plates....
  19. Yeah, thanks, I have been keeping a very careful eye out for it since. I check the C's on Autotrader all the time. Cheers
  20. Much appreciated Crazymarcel, yep that was the one!!! Knew it was far too good to be true!! Fingers burnt, lesson learnt. Doubt the pictures will be much help I am afraid, but here they are anyway. The last address I had for them was at Dalrymple Way... Many thanks
  21. Hi, on my first foray into buying a VR6 I put a deposit down on a VR6 (august). Unfortunately the seller called the deal off at the very last minute, due to not having the V5 doc (I know!!!!), he said that he would return my deposit, but it has been two months and I still have not got it back    !!!! I had his work address and was using this for correspondance that was until he resigned and dissappeared!!! I am trying to persue my deposit through the small claims courts, but I need an address for this guy. Anyway, I know there are a few corrado's in Norwich, and a few of them are on here, and we all tend to keep an eye out for other C's. I know where quite a few are that live near me. Well if anybody has seen an Aqua blue VR6 with black leather seats with the reg K976 VPB, I would really appreciate some details address etc. Long shot I know, but running out of options. I am getting a form from the DVLA to track it that way and we have informed the Norwich police - theft by deception. I have his name but unfortunately he has moved from his rented accomodation too. The guys name is David Peck. Worth a try. He wont get away with it :x . I will find you Peck!!!! :x Many thanks
  22. Hi, okay luckily it is the auxiliary radiator cooling fan (Part #: 357119113A) that has gone. Thank god!!! FYI, aux fan from VW costs £79.01 incl. vat. But had it been the main fan it would have cost a huge £269!!!  So ordering it tomorrow morning. Hope to fit it on the weekend.... Thanks
  23. Well I had trouble finding them! I am talking about the RED VR6 grill badge. They don't make them anymore and you can only get them secondhand now. My mate also had trouble finding his too. I guess the red badge was only on the corrado VR6 for about a year, so will become harder to find. Luckily Josh on the forum had one kicking around in his garage, which I bought. Silver ones are still easy to pick up, GPC etc... I have a silver one (tiny stone chips though) if you want it can part exchange for your red one? Wouldn't mind a spare... Sorry to hijack the thread, back to the storm.... with 13k on the clock should go for way more than £10k considering some of the cars seen on auto for about £9.5k with many more miles.... man that leather must be brand new too!! One day...
  24. That's true, but hey I am no pikey! Hence I am selling both badges together incl. the gear badge... I still worried about leaving just the red VR6 badge on the car, as they aren't too easy to get anymore. Just a matter of time, somebody will rip it off...
