Many thanks for advice, I am sure the same will happen with grey leather? Sorry you had to find out the hard way for all of us. I guess I better start saving. I managed to get full grey leather interior from a guy who was breaking his spare c for the engine. Paying £250 for it, rear seats and door cards in excellent condition, will get plastic trim as well. The front seats have not been looked after and both the passenger and driver seat bolsters are scratched and cracked. Annoyingly whoever owned the car also put mid range and tweeter speakers in the door cards, so will have to follow suite and find some neat speakers that look the part. Think I will resist puting the interior in until I have got them re-covered. Might also keep some of my black plastic and do a grey black interior as I have a silver car... hope it comes out okay. Many thanks for the advice.

Thanks jedi-knight83, not really what I wanted to hear, but like you say may be better in the long run. Damn! Better start saving, got to get both front seats done, ouch . Probably looking at about £400 I guess. Will have to leave the door cards for now and maybe get them done at a later date.... Oh by the way, many thanks for the suspension advice and pic a couple of weeks ago. Getting them sorted on the weekend. I have a couple of grooves at the back that I can move the cup so should raise the back end to get it more balanced. Just had two wheel bearings replaced so I was able to have a proper look at them. Cheers

Hi Rodders, to bring this thread back from the dead. Its been over a year now, how has the rubber spray treatment faired, is the interior still looking as good? Looks amazing in the pictures! I am interested in doing this too, this was the only thread that I could find on the subject. Anybody done this down south? Cheers, F

I love the way that when you finalise the ride you get a couple of chavs that appear on the scene. Hilarious. The worrying thing is the exhaust that I can select for my nova doesn't look too disimilar to the powerflow on my C.... got to change that back end!

Heardy, Damn that was a good buy. Good luck sorting the a/c. You should post some pics in members gallery when you get the chance, wouldn't mind having a nose at it. Sorry for getting off the subject of the thread Colley, did you buy the silver c in the end?

got somebody checking it out on saturday. Girlfriend wants to make a few local trips in the car before then. Hope that is okay. Just out of interest, when the fan packed up, how much did it cost to fix, parts and labour? Cheers.
-
Thank-you very much for advice, will check her out tonight and will go through the above suggestions. I can imagine a new fan would cost a bit! Hope its a spacer or something... Must say it is one of the worst noises I have ever heard from a car, sounds like something is dying in there....

Hi, did a 200mile round trip this weekend and about 100 yards from the house a screaming noise started coming from the engine attracting all kinds of attention from passers by. When I got home, I turned off the engine and it carried on so I knew it was the engine cooling fan. Got out and I think it was on the passenger side. Couldn't really see as it was dark by the time I got back lastnight. Made a real screaming sound, very loud and pretty embarrasing. Anybody had this problem? If so how did they fix it?
-
That was a beauty too!! Was wondering when this car would crop up. You beat me to it. I was down to view that car the following night. Was in Autotrader about 3 months or so ago. He didn't advertise the fact that it had an A/c either. Damn nice car, congratulations.
-
Thanks, done. Yeah we were looking at that, but were considering cutting it out instead and reattaching to new car, removing axles would be a nightmare. Too much trouble? Has anybody cut the exhaust and put it on another car successfully? Is it worth it or should I just stump up the £300 and get a magnex?
-
Was just thinking, how funny it would be to do the equivelent of a "flash mob" with the corrado, as it is such a rare sight (even though I saw 5 in one day the other day, not incl. mine). Imagine coming out of your house or from work to find your corrado surrounded by loads and loads of other corrados, without any explanation at all, how freaky would that be! If it was a ford I would'nt think anything of it, but a corrado! Just thinking it would be so funny to see that person's face! I know it would freak me out if it happenned to me.

Hi can a mod delete one of these threads on exhausts. My computer froze and I ended up posting twice. Sorry.
-
Hi, I currently have a powerflow exhaust on the C, decatted with 4 1/2" pipe - not too keen on the badboy image it sends out and the sound so considering a change. Magnex is very high on my list, but..... I have a friend that is breaking his "spare" VR6 to get the engine out. I was thinking about having his exhaust. Bearing in mind the car is an L reg, would it be worth all the trouble - cutting the exhaust etc-, am I looking at a new Cat in 6 months time? How long can the exhausts last? Cheers
-
Re: my bad.... No offence taken btw was just mentioning my experience in respect to the 6k silver c. My engine may seize tomorrow, who knows?
-
Re: no you can't thats a lie..... 4.5k gets a horrible VR6 these days. My friend paid 4k for almost immaculate burgandy C yesterday also L reg, but with 99k on the clock. Honestly the interior looks brand new. Body work was almost immaculate too, no rust etc. The only thing wrong was the sunroof which didn't slide and the exhaust was changed for a s/s otherwise standard. FVWSH then stealth for last 5 years. Very, very well cared for. Wondering if 5 - 5.5k seems like a more reasonable price for the silver c above with that mileage? £6k might be a bit toppy, maybe if it was a bit newer it would be justified (M/N)? You would probable expect leather at or above £6k? Clivep (aqua blue in last months used car guide) was selling his for just over 6k and it had 72k on the clock and was an M reg. No leather, but I would have bought that I recon, looked a beaut! Unbelievably, I paid 3k in the end for my silver c, which I am very happy with, was looking for about 3 months. Needs body work done, booked in next month, but mechanics and electrics pretty much 100%, had the timing chain done, clutch and head gasket done and has 105k on clock. Had it completely checked out on ramps etc. FVWSH apart from 2 speciallists (1 being the guy down the road who owns 3 C's).... Hope that helps? Very nice colour btw!
-
More satin silver C's: Dan's, ChrisVR6 nos, and Corrado Euge... 7 so far in members gallery, anymore? See there are two on autotrader at the minute.
-
Was going to ask the same thing? Yours, Andy Brookes, OSV's and mine ...anymore? Insomniak, your C looks pretty mint and original except for wheels, you got any more photo's? Checked out your car in members gallery and just the one photo.
-
Cheers for comments guys :D , Good point Dinkus, don't know why I said 'another' in the subject box? Title now changed. I had never seen a silver one on the road before I bought mine, so should have known better. Been keeping an eye on Andy Brookes' and OSV's Silver C's in members gallery, maybe that's why I said another?
-
Finally got some pictures of the silver VR6 I ended up buying with the help of the CF. Reasonably original, except for Koni suspension, powerflow exhaust (which I am planning on changing), Momo steering wheel and eyebrow spoiler - recently removed. Done 105k and has had the timing chain done, as well as new head gasket and valve rebuild. Just put her through a full service and gave her a 300 mile run this last weekend.
-
There is hope then.... Thanks Jedi, will take all the above into account and if I cant adust the back I may take you up on that.
-
Great picture just what I need. Will keep my fingers crossed that I will find those grooves... got to get that ass off the ground, looks weird! Many thanks for advice.
-
Hi many thanks for that guys, will be giving the suspension a full inspection tonight. I believe that mine are the adjustable damper type only. Not very happy with it at the minute as the back sits lower than the front. Any suggestions? I am considering getting the original suspension put back on the car, esp as I live in Camden and the speed bumps are rediculous! There is a guy down the road that is breaking a corrado and has the original springs. May do a swap or something. How much do you recon the Koni's are worth/how much are they new (damper adj only). Cheers
-
Hi wonder if anybody can help who know's their Koni's? I recently bought a C and in the ad it claimed that it had an adj suspension. Am I right in assuming that on the Koni suspension you can adjust the height simply by turning a knob on the top of the damper/ on the back using a small spanner. What are the obvious signs that it is this type of suspension. Is there a type of koni suspension for C's where you can only adjust the damping and not the height - if so how can you tell the difference? I am a bit confused about the whole thing and a bit of a novice when it comes to susp. and waiting for the tools to arrive so I can try it out. Currently the back of the car appears to be sitting a bit lower than the front, keen to sort it out. Any help would be really appreciated. Cheers

That's exactly what mine does... a trip to John Lewis me thinks... many thanks for all suggestions. Not looking forward to this job though!
