Andy Brookes's Satin Silver VR6, its last journey...boohoo
Ford replied to Andy Brookes's topic in Members Gallery
That car looks awesome!!! And the wheels really suite a silver corrado. Something to aspire to. I am at the beginning of the restoration process on my silver vr6, got a long way to go, but looking at your pictures, I know it will be worth it. New lenses make such a difference too, mine are really tired looking. Cheers -
I know I was just joking... but still getting over the idea of having to strip the dash....
-
JESUS!!?!!..... is that the only option? How many hours labour is that? randal_24 Does that mean it still creaks, but a muffled creak due to the black felt?
-
Interiors look really good guys, many thanks, think it may look pretty cool in the silver corrado, if I keep the black dash etc. I might not change the door cards, havent made up my mind, might just change the seats. The ones I have my eye on are a bit tatty, need a bit of work, particularly the edge of the drivers and passenger seats - they are very scratched and the grey has worn off in some areas. How much money do you recon it would cost to put them right, just wondering so that I know how much I should be offering for them. As far as referb is concerned is there some sort of magic spray that would do the trick or am I looking at recovering those particular areas? Cheers.

Hi does anybody out there have a creaky dashboard? I.e. when the steering wheel moves slightly up and down it makes the dashboard creak. Anybody have this problem and if so how did you fix it. Any idea why it chooses to do it, really annoying and a bit disconcerting. Had a go in another corrado yesterday and it does not have the same problem. Many thanks

Hi thanks, I was thinking maybe keeping the dash, gear box and carpets as they are in black and just changing the seats and the door cards... thought that contrast between grey and black might look quite cool. Just got to get my car next to some grey leather so I can see how the colours match? If anybody could post some good pictures of grey leather interior that would be great.

Hi anybody got picture of grey leather interior for a corrado trying to picture it? I am considering grey leather interior in a SIlver Corrado. Anybody have any comments on that - looks etc. Silver and grey a bit to wishy washy - wonder if anybody has that? Seen lots of complaints about the heat of black leather in summer, esp if you haven't got air con, like me. So thought that grey would be a comprimise. Thought tan leather wouldn't look quite right in a silver Corrado. Any comments and photos would be greatly appreciated.

Quite worrying mines had 8 owners (92k)!!!! Thrashed and beaten? But it had the timing chain, clutch, head gasket etc done... it seems really smooth and appears in good shape.... have I got trouble waiting for me a few months down the line? I wonder...
-
I have just bought a rado with an eyebrow spoiler, that I would like to remove. It appears to be riveted on? Is that normal or am I missing something. Will get it removed when next at the garage....
-
Just like Top Trump cards... I love it!!
-
Must be a zero missing! Damn just bought my VR6, if only I waited just a week longer....
-
Nailed it!!! Cheers! Always hear varying results re: 0-60 times for VR6 though, who is correct I wonder? Corrado club says this in their VR6 profile: Acceleration 0-60mph in 7.2 seconds That's the slowest I have seen, I guess that is the official speed. Most recon 6.7 secs to 60 - top gear etc? I am sure there is probably a thread about this somewhere in here? Might have to delete these questions from this thread later as this won't help our cause... can't agree on stats etc. However, even the slowest stat from Corrado Club is still quicker that the CLK stats above.
-
Its the coupe version (hard top). Keep them coming... BTW could somebody put the corrado stats next to the above merc stats that Scott kindly supplied. Could be the final nail in the coffin. Then I will forward the link to him....

Hi Jedi, will do, as soon as I pick it up tonight - will post pictures over the weekend. Yep VR6, silver, original apart from lowered suspension, exhaust and eyebrow spoiler. £104k on the clock and they did the timing chain and clutch, so hope it lasts a while... has a few dents, but we have budgeted for the repairs. All electrics in excellent order and has full closure alarm. I will talk about the sale that fell through on the other VR6 another time....just want my deposit back! Thanks for all the replies guys, I will forward a link to this topic to Mr CLK man later in the day when we have a few more damning facts and figures!! BTW his CLK is a 99 reg, if that helps...
-
Friend has just purchased a CLK 320 and I have just purchased a VR6, both in silver, he recons that I will see nothing but the rear end of his car. His car has more power (218bhp), but is a weighty beast and is an auto!!!! Would appreciate any comments/statistics that I can overload his inbox with... Many thanks!

Just want to say many many thanks to you guys on the forum for all your valuable advice :D . In part it was because of this forum that I decided to take the plunge and get the corrado I always wanted. All going well, I will be collecting the beast next Tuesday. Needs a bit more work than expected, including bumper and another small dent. But got it for £2,900 in the end. The mechanics seem really sound and has absolutely every receipt for work done. Not bad in the end for an aqua VR6 with leathers. Hope I don't break down on the way home! Also hope to be a regular contributer in the future. That convoy to Le Mans next year sounds really good too, just got to spend a little cash on the car to get it up to scratch before then....
-
Excellent thanks, will keep an eye out for another bumper... there is one going in Bath for around the same price. Will see if I can get it. Cheers for that, saved me a wasted journey!
-
Hi anyone recognise this bumper as a new version of a corrado bumper... I checked out the buyers guide and it's difficult to tell? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... RK:MEWA:IT Many thanks
-
Brilliant many thanks for that guys.
-
Hi does anybody out there know if bumpers to Corrado's have changed over the years. I am trying to find a replacement bumper for a 92k VR6. I have found one but they don't know the age or type of Corrado. Should I go for it? Many thanks for your help.
-
Good idea will keep an eye on it! Cheers
-
Cheers many thanks for that guys. WIll see what's out there. There is one on ebay but includes rear bumper too, which I don't need. £150 respray sounds about right...
-
Thanks for the reply. That's pretty hefty! Is that including the light fittings etc. Seems like a lot just for the bumper without accessories and just primed?
-
Hi anybody know how much a front bumper should cost? New for a 92k VR6 rado primed. And the costs expected for a respray and labour. Couldn't find the info on the forum. Many thanks

Cheers Scott!
