    [Wanted] Head Unit

Thanks. Where/how do you mount the aerial for it?
  2. Ok so I'm not nerdy enough to tell you what engine this is (challenge for you perhaps?!) but this clip always amazes me. http://www.manxtube.com/video/111/1994-Manx-Rally-SS7-Brandywell-In-Car-With-Mark-Higgins Mark Higgins in the Isle of Man, not only driving with no input from his co-driver, but also commentating in-car while he does it!
  3. There is that issue as well! I know someone Surrey way that could have picked it up though. I would probably take it if it wasn't the 16gb version.

    [Wanted] Head Unit

Sounds better than the historic Pioneer player I have at the moment, (which came with the car)! I was hoping for something a bit higher end but I'll probably take that if nothing more tempting comes along ... unless you're in any hurry matey?

Must play MP3/data CD's but anything considered apart from that. Alpine or Pioneer preferred but not essential.
  6. Unwanted gift?? Do you wipe your arse with twenties? I have one already and I'm STILL trying to think of an excuse to buy this!
  7. Cost of wheels + cost of tyres x 72.2%. If you accept anything else, you're a mug
  8. There you go, good post. After saying all this, don't let it put you off. People do spend lots of money sorting things out but this is probably just in the nature of ownership as most people buy for the long term. So they fix niggles rather than show-stopping problems. If you're talking about spending money on fixes that are absolutely necessary, the 1.8 valver is probably the best route you could go. There's a lot less to go wrong for sure. I think as soon as someone starts talking about tight budgets, people naturally feel inclined to warn you about the potential downside to buying cheaply. With tax, insurance, initial purchase price and fixing a few unforeseen issues, I still think you're looking at £2k in year one and that's before you think about petrol.

    Fuel filter

It's the loose change in the filter-pixie's pockets. True story.
  10. Generally speaking if you have a grand to spend on one .... you better have another grand somewhere up your sleeve! Or not be all that bothered about food for a while. They are not good cars to buy on a tight budget. And remember, buy cheap, buy twice ;)
  11. Stick to the Wanted forum and please don't cross-post requests.

    No Charge

Boot Light? Poorly wired stereo? Poorly wired alarm/immobiliser?
  13. Best bet would be drop him an email. But on a more serious note. We wish you a Merry Christmas.

    Piston Man

Very good!! Probably worth more than the engine itself! :)
  15. English is questionable as well
  16. Unfortunately not! The only cars that would benefit, in value terms, from being earlier would be the VR6 Campaigns or some of the original press cars (F reg from memory). Apart from that it's usually a case of 'the later the better'.
  17. Welcome to the forum! Yep that's fairly early - will be a 1.8.
  18. We could start talking about Audiscape door pods up front and fitting a set of 6.5" components to really beef it up. But that would just be cruel ;)
  19. Correctamundo. You may find that you have to cut the parcel shelf supports to accommodate better speakers in the rear (due to bigger magnets usually). But it's a piece of cake and completely hidden ... so simple to reverse as well, not that you'd ever want to.
  20. Sort the sound out where you're sitting .... up front. With some half decent components and even just upgrading the standard rear speakers, you should get some pretty good results.

    best engine

    Gut feel says Romania
  22. What's that bright thing in the sky??! Car's looking very nice chap :)
  23. Is that how much it costs to run each one for a month?
