  1. another bordeaux mint. My main one is the same colour black rims just do the business with that colour in my eyes. Shame about the troubles mate but sounds if though your a bit handy so shouldnt be a problem. Pretty sure theres plenty of threads on heater matrix. The handbrake seized on mate. H ad that happen to mine before I tend to leave it off now in cold weather even though I have new cables on it good luck with the fixing and looking forward to seeing the rims being on
  2. The porsche rims loook mint mate will really suit the car. Guess I must ahve seen some pics of it in the past I guess as too far away from me. Is it sherry or bordeaux as looks sherry in the top pic but bordeaux with porsche rims on. Sounds like you've had a few problems but nice to know to sticking with it. good on you bud
  3. Wow that some list there mate and also yours jimpy66 puts shame to mine small list been driven for 15 years next week and my list consists of 1.3 Nova SR (red) bought when I was 16 1.3 Nova SR (yellow) loved that car had brown leather too 1.8 16v Golf MK1 bought at 18 my word that was pricey insurance at the time bought the VW caddy pickup at 20 years of age and still have it. then bought my first rado 1.8 16v bordeaux pearl 6months later. sold in 2007 2004 bought mk1 golf cabby (still have it in the same condition done about a mile backwards and forwards around my bros house  ) 2007 MK2 golf 2.0 ABF with wide steels loved the wheels on that. 2008 bought the current bordeaux pearl vr (knew I needed it as soon as the old rado left the drive) 2 months ago bought a sherry pearl vr just because I could :cuckoo: anyway welcome jimpy66 sorry for my ramblings

  5. Nice work there. A mate of mine was doing stuff for his kit car and I liked the finish. Always fancied a try but think I am better off looking at others results :)
  6. And VWrobbo very tidy two there I never seen them either I must drive around with my eyes shut
  7. ShaunVR6 you ever drive it as havent seen that one ever!!! looks nice though Iggi loving the wheels
  8. Mike just thought are you registered on durham dubs? As Chewy did work as a windscreen fitter he may still cause he offered one for my caddy a while back. If you not registered worth doing just for a try. Sorry should have said yesterday but only just thought about it
  9. Gutted for you bud especially after all that work sorry dude hope its not too much to sort
  10. Hi Mike sorry to hear this has happened. I had a windscreen done a few years back and it was through autoglass and they had to come back a couple of times to sort leaks but I fixed it myself in the end. So think as Butterfly says make sure the person scheduled to do the job has experience in doing them. I also took the a pillars off before they got there as I had one done in my valver many moons ago and the person that done that cut into the a pillar trims and ruined them and was not keen to replace them as they found out the cost from VW. Sorry cant help further but sure your insurance could clarify it tomorrow for you.
  11. Looks so sweet colour and wings really nice
  12. cheers bud prob leave that as its only worth a little more than that so will prob have to leave it there and try and sell it instead of sorting it. Thanks anyway
  13. mate could do with my mk1 golf cab moving from Milton keynes to Sunderland north east sometime depends whether we get a house with room? how much you think ish?
  14. Nice update there mate liking the engine and good work with the paint work
  15. Well with some help and advice from James I have managed to make some progress on the engine built. cheers mate. After James pointed out I had the wrong piston rings. Yesterday after getting the correct ones the bottom end of the engine is built up with the arp conrod bolts in. The spacer gasket and the outers from the sharen gasket with the arp head studs installed and the head is on so itsgetting there now :D Just a shame no-one is at the garage today as I could have got the remaining parts bolted up :(
  16. flipping heck that seems an age but looking at it it would have passed so quickly :( Been collecting parts for my engine build for over 2 years and doesnt seem that long ago I bought the car hope it goes well
  17. liking the garage there buddy and picking the best time of year to be working outside. hope you have a heater in there
  18. yeah get it done mate. If there was someone down the garage I would be down there doing my engine as lost the last 5 days through sickness
  19. For mince pie sarnies :D
  20. nice work there mark better than taking your games into work then hey :)
  21. This is a good thread. and thanks john :D 1 Favourite thread - This a a hard one but think i have to go for "timmy" thread of the rebuild and trimming as the trimming is just class and so jealous. Mind you Kevhaywire only cam second as I have not finished the thread yet just so much to digest. 2 Best show - For this year BVF as I have always wanted to go and this year made it and made so many new and good friends :D 3 Favourite forum Corrado of 2010 (3 choices each) - another hard one. First has to be "crazydaves" VRT as the passenger ride at national day just made me smile and mumble make mine like this. The set up is pefect for just driving then the power if you want it "Coullstars" previously corradovr6nos as I remember looking at the arches in his garage when the paint had just been completed with the rebuilt splitts on and thought how much I liked the red. "Vag Hag" storm at Elsecar with the Eurohoon 2009 stickers still on and dirty from the trip around europe 8 months previous. The re-actions from the show goers was funny cause there was a ring sticker right across the bonnet and the wing A special recommendation as I am not sure if she is on the forum but the wide rear arched valver at BVF this year as had a chat and the commitment on cutting down the shell takes some guts but as said not sure if she is on the forum. 4 Best supplier (garage, services or parts etc) - D&G as they have always answered my questions friendly even though some have been stupid and have developed and supplied parts that I think are smashing. But aside from the forum I have to say Frazers Autos as I am always there pestering them to take this off and that off with the windy gun. With Gaz senior threating with a smile to get rid of all the scrap in the garage even that engine thats been on the stand for months, but think he likes the fact his kids are into VW's and have built a quite a few good uns as although they are a citreon specialist the majority of motors booked in each day are VW or a branch
  22. Paint looking good mate and commentment in this weather well done matey
