Corrado and Golf filters are identical, so no need to quote specifically. Stealth have some in stock, so if you're quick you can have one next day..... :-) Happy ordering -

Looking to kick this off pretty soon chaps, just need to confirm with the possibles. We will all then need to contact Stealth as individuals and pay them directly. When Stealth have orders from all the definates, they will order the beasts in bulk from BMC. I will post contact information for Stealth later, when you do speak to Stealth please make it obvious that you are part of this group buy. I'm going to suggest we put a time limit on this of all orders to be placed by 1200 noon next Tuesday, this will allow a couple more possibles opportunity to join in/pass up. I don't know off the top of my head whether Corrado and Golf Filters are identical so it would be sensible to mention that also! Delivery is £12 on a next day basis from Stealth, obviously Stealth need time to get the kits from BMC so they estimate delivery to individuals within 1 week of order placement. -

Yes it would be nice, however its a hefty discount anyway. The rrp according to motorsportworld.co.uk is £190 ish! £144 including link pipe is a bargain, you won't get it cheaper. -

Colley, this will close some time within a week from now, The latest will probably be next monday as we have one person on the list thats away till then. I'm getting final details from Stealth at the mo. delivery times/costs etc. We're nearly up to 15 people so I'm seeing if we can push the discount even further... Shibe01, having a slight temporary (I hope) hitch with email this morning, wil let you know if I've got your message. -
WHERE CAN I BUY SOME TYRES & FITTED FOR MY VR- PREF IN K
andy replied to samm_cvr6's topic in Suppliers Forum
Aha I see ;-) I totally agree about driving on average or below average tyres. I bought 4 T1r tyres and am well happy with them. You could get T1s in 205 50 15, I bought some for my Golf last year. The T1r seems to wear more slowly and has better wet grip than the T1s imo so you should be fine! -
I would have thought that it would run without that input but maybe not optimally. On my Vr6 (different I know...,.but) I had a duff Hall sender, which meant the precise timing info wasn't supplied to the ecu, however the ecu reverts to some kind of safe mode and makes its own best guess. It still ran ok but was about 20% down on power.

andy replied to samm_cvr6's topic in Suppliers Forum
Can't help noticing that you've said your tyre has had it because you've pumped it up and it's gone flat. It could be a leaking valve, rim seal problem or just a puncture. Perfectly repairable possibly. You can get T1-S OR T1-R tyres for £45-50 delivered from places such as http://www.camskill.co.uk, expect to pay up to £10 a corner to have them fitted though, if you do need new tyres that is... -

Not 100% sure yet robbo101, am looking into it. -
Yeah I know that post 95 mk3 gti and vr6 calipers are 288, I'm sure someone told me that most mk4 calipers were to fit 288s too, was just slightly suspicious of whether they would have been fitted to a 1.4 model.
-
Looking into the 288mm upgrade, my local scrappy has a pair of mk4 golf calipers from a 53 model golf that only had 7k miles on. He reckons its a 1.4 model. Are they likely to be 288mm calipers and hence suitable for my upgrade.

**Group Buy** VR6 BMC CDA Filters **10% DISCOUNT AGAIN!**
andy replied to andy's topic in Engine Bay
Good News.... Stealth have renegotiated with BMC and the discount is back at 10% for 10 units. This means the price would be £144 plus delivery, including the silicon link pipe. Any takers... -
I've got it...I'm completely underwhelmed by it!

andy replied to andy's topic in Engine Bay
OK. Bad news chaps.....possibly. Just had an email from Stealth retracting their original offer. The 10% discount now only applies for 15 or more units, below this their will be a 5% discount meaning the new price is £152 inc vat. Please re-confirm interest at this price or otherwise. -

Last message before I remove the water pump from my VR6...

I wonder if your stage 1 is working, are you sure that the fan is working at both speeds? It almost sounds like stage 1 is being ignored then only coming on at stage 2 temp? -

I understand your concern....but as you say...they do run hot. I can see that an engine will try to hold stat temp, not sure that it will though. It depends on the efficiency of the cooling system in general. What temp are the fans specced to come on at? I'd check the sensor controlling the fan if your in doubt. I'm not saying I'm right by the way, I don't drive mine "normally" that much and it regularly sits at 90 and above....well above! -

Unless I've missed something...... I can't see whats wrong here. Whats wrong with 90? Both the VR6s I've owned have run around that temperature with no problems. -
I know someone with an F plater in red. I believe its in bits at the mo though.. Edit.... I've been corrected, its a G Plater
