thats my mechanics lad, his dad preps the car. apparently he set a fastest lap t'other weekend 8) He started off with a vento vr6. -
nice one, I managed to semi-retire my golf when i got a company van. i don't pay any tax on it, even though i take it home and it's solely mine. working on getting a car, as i don't actually carry anything in the van - just flourescent coats and a couple of bit's and pieces.

updated with corrado prices and plenty of interest so price may go down further :)
-
he he -so very true. used to happen on my old 16v -mates used to say a little flame used to show. happended when you nailed it and let off the accelorator to change gear. that was a powerflow too
-
a bodyshop quoted me £120 for my front bumper, proably less than 240 if both were done together
-
as the title really, for vr6's -up to 30% discount for 10+ http://www.vr6oc.com/forum_viewtopic.php?27.57028#57040

the grey gatso ones we get in birmingham can do both ways. didn't know until recently -i was travelling towards one (facing the same way i was travelling) and it flashed just before i got to it. I thought it was odd -there was a merc coming the other way. never knew they could do that :x
-
if they made a bora coupe thing like on the previous page would be cool tho
-
i pretty much agree with you mate (apart from the skoda being up to vw bit). but essentially the TT is the closest thing to the corrado, in fact it filled the same hole in the market so does that not make it its successor? it just took off more than the corrado ever did. timing i spose! but if VW did make a modern take on the corrado -would you buy it? it'd cost well over £25K and in 10 years time when it sinks into our price-range (lets face it) you'll be driving a diesel saloon ( ) grumbling about these young whipper-snappers and their fancy cars
-
nice choice -a fella had one of these pushing 260 odd bhp at the last vr6oc rolling road day with just a chip and filter
-
yep, we can all learn form each other -all the problems are common would be nice to see a bit of variation on the club stands through the summer -get some c's on there as its predominantley golfs at the mo stuart
-
How many of the VR6 owners on here are members of the VR6 Owners Club? I think I have seen kevhaywire over on there occasionally, but there is a distinct lack of corrado owners at the mo. get yourselves over to http://www.vr6oc.co.uk and come and say hello. It's a very active club, there was a rolling road day on 31/01/05 -(only one C in attendance tho!)- a stand at the upcoming dubfreeze on 20/02/05 and presence at a lot more shows over the summer. I'm sure you lot can teach some of us a thing of two and vice versa. Right, finished whoring myself out now, hope to see some new members. Stuart

i dont imagine this has many miles on it..... http://www.retro-rides.com/gallery.asp? ... 1&offset=0 what would you give to own that and would you drive it.......
-
a new head shouldnt cost that much, you can get a ported polihsed one for less than a grand. talk to stealth racing http://www.stealthracing.co.uk (i think thats the right address!) post over on http://www.vr6oc.co.uk -the guys on there are full of info too
-
you'd pick up a tidy and reliable mk2 golf driver 1.6/1.8 for £800 easy, if thats too slow, never had a problem with my mk2 valver in 2 yrs, not bad for 17 years old. think the driver would be more reliable
-
can't access link at work - but HIC told me the other day that my area is rated 32 out of 40 - 40 being the worst. i never feel unsafe leaving my car where i live - they quoted £1500  tpft -i'm 23 5 yrs NCB and 3 points - jokers!!!!! sorry, rant over.
-
gpc should do them http://www.gpcvwaudi.co.uk (or .com) and shouldnt break the bank
-
i had the same thing on my old valver, second gear was a bitch to engage sometimes - my mechanic adjusted the linkage -sorted it out. would have been even better if i'd have been arsed to change the gearbox oil. hope this helps oh, and i believe there is a special tool to do this, but i didnt watch him do it. think someone is flogging them on e-gay atm, worth a look.
-
agree with what has been said; definately replace the cable. has this on my 16v, i hadn't noticed how stiff it had become. got the whole cable replaced for about £35 inc parts. the old one had started to come apart inside, and was catching - in a pretty poor state
-
get your mate to ring vw - think there is a helpline number -or i just went straight to a dealership, gave them a reg no and they gave me the info on all the servicing that was carried out by them, at least that'll be something, they are bound to have seen it for a few years at the beginning of its life. think 2k is the most he'll get - and even then it'll be hard to find someone to part with that much best of luck
-
ditto on the grille / badge - nice design feature but £18k  no chance
-
toyo proxes have been the best i've used. in 195/50 r15 fitment they are special at £33 each on http://www.camskill.co.uk at the mo 2!!!
