I had a Mk3 Vr prior to my C, It went rusty under the plastic strip which runs along the bottom of the doors, when you go and have a look at any just give the plastic a bit of a shove and check for any rust scrunching sounds. apart from that I loved it, loads of power lovely sounding too.

I have replaced my front and rear speakers but am still not getting great sound, I am after a bit more bass from the rear. Can anybody suggest the best thing to do. I don't need anything amazing just a reasonably priced setup for the extra bass. I would like if possible to mount any extra speakers/subs in the parcel shelf becuase the boot is small enough without adding a sub box. Any sugestions on amp/Subs required etc would be great. Cheers Mark

Hi, there I have got a strange problem with my stereo and speakers. I fitted a new to me sony stereo at the weekend and now every so often all the speakers make a popping sound and then no sound until I turn it off and on again then its fine for another few minutes. I was wondering if the stereo is to powerfull for the original C speakers and it is blowing them?? Mine is 91 G60 it has the tweeters and the door ones fitted. The sony stereo is supposed to be 4X40 watts. I was also wondering if it was getting to hot and cutting out, but i would have thought it would have completely died if that was the case. This is very odd, any ideas would be great as it now does my head in :x mark. :)

_leon_'s Corrado - R32/Gemini box now in progress
mark_ingle replied to _leon_'s topic in Members Gallery
Wheels look really good on, almost gutted i sold them now :( But the car looks great. -
Not sure about the fitment options becuase I haven't got round to doing mine yet, but the awesome GIT store do a few different types for about £15.00 which sounds reasonable.
-
_leon_ do you mean that you have done something to the rear box or just that it is exceptionally loud once you decatted it. Are you running a standard exhaust except the cat by pass or a stainless one, which i hear resonate a bit. PS how are the wheels going??

Neil G60 did you notice much of noise gain when you fitted it or was it ok. and did you get any perdormance increase? Cheers Mark.

Cheers Henny, I have PM'd him :D

Hi, I have recently noticed that my cat is starting to break up. I can hear all the little bits rattling around. I was thinking that it would be a great deal cheaper to get a cat bypass pipe instead of a replacement cat. My raddo is a 91 J plate so i believe it is pre the legislation on having one. Also i am hoping to free up a couple of extra horses :) Currently ( I Think) it is on a standard system. will a de cat pipe fit on this ok??? and does anybody know a good place to get one from??? any help would be much appreciated. Ta in advance

I had this exact problem on a car I had, the garage who sold it to me forgot to put the key bolt back in when they changed the tyres and then lost it. I did exactly what was suggested above hammered on a slightly smaller socket and then they came off ok. I did have one that i had to go down to a smaller socket again to get off. If they are cheap ones then they are porbably quite soft and you may to have a couple of goes at it getting smaller each time as it may just round off. When hammereing the socket on hit it good and hard make sure it is fully on otherwise it could just spin off and if you do that a couple times you could end up getting the drill out.

That has got to be a vauxhall corsa isn't it :D
