  3. haha thinking is the operative word :lol: sounds like alot of hassle for a daily car (ie cant be off the road) and i just plain cant afford it if i could get it sorted for around the price id get for the charger id deffo like to do it
  4. the back ones were loose its eaten 1 new rear bearing in less than 1k miles (mustv been dodgy) fronts have about 20k on them genuine vag and 1 is noisy it does indeed have an appetite for bearings and front tyres for that matter lol

    how much power/torque would a vr make with 8-10 psi turbo?? how much hassle would this much psi be with a stock engine? how much£££ would this be? is a remap of stock ecu fine? what kinda issues are there compared to a supercharger??
  9. omfg i just crapped myself thanks for the info mate :( it looks like a washing machine bearing kit which is rite up my street has anybody had 1 apart? will it all fall to a million bits or is it straight forward if done systematically?
  10. anybody know how long the v9 goes between servicing? im pretty sure the bearings are starting to grumble a touch on mine how easy/hard is it to A get the bearings and B fit them? where do i get the bearings or get it done in the uk??

  12. obd1 = all (factory kev lol) corrados and all pre 95 golfs the manifold itself is diffrent but fits np obd2 = post 95 golfs they changed over in 95 obd1 manifolds WONT fit obd2 cars due to the bolt pattern of the throttle body being diffrent i beleive it is possible to get an adaptor plate made up but seems like a pain in the rectum to me lol

  15. as above imho the 2 most important thiongs are dont rag it till its warm (im religious about this) and change the oil alot i try to keep to 3-5k but iv done 6k now im gonna do it soon
  16. well yeh lol but 1 was noticably lower than the rest just not by much it is charged but totally stock internals including standard compression the valve stem seals have been done so it narrows it down somewhat the testers comments were iv seen alot worse its in good nick for the mileage looks like its been looked after :)

  18. i got a compression test today with an endoscope down the bores to see where the oil is goin (only smokey on overrun) results were 176-179 on 5 cylinders and 1 just made 175 i guess thats psi?? the bore with 175 had a cpl of light scratches from piston slap but not at all bad for 107k does the comp sound ok? valve stem seals have been replaced he strongly suggested valve guides does this sound likely?

  21. i cant hear my 6 branch now its wrapped and i have a charger cant really hear the engine at all till i give it the beans :( then its utterly viscious im not kiddin its bordering on painfull when you get overtaken at full chat by it its a proper psycho :twisted: :twisted:
