  1. I never got round to posting pics after the respray, so here a random selection and a quick update. The car was RR'd at stealth in November last year, and got 181 BHP and 176 lb torque. Very respectable from a pretty standard engine! I have also not got round to fitting my H&R's [currently being refurb'ed through Gwerks.] .. or the VDO guages.. or the guage bezels! However! i sold the 17" BBS replicas, and bought some 4 stud solitude to last me over the winter. these did the job, but i've now just fitted 17x7.5 Borbet A's Future plans still include fitting the H&R's, but also now a Gwerks full exhaust and De-cat, and a charger service.
  2. mmm ddi's! i must get round to ordering a set + wingmirrors!
  3. Thats a cracking deal! and those comps seem good too. As said, wire up the fronts and see how you get on. i'd go for a sub over rear speakers though.
  4. I've fitted 4 18x8"s with tyres in the boot.. they slot in nicely! And 4 17x7.5"s stocked on the back seats [with seat belts on of course!] not at the same time though, but it's surprising how much you can get in!
  5. PhatVR6, Do you think you can get him to confirm if we need 50 orders, as it seems the list provided is just a standard one he would send to suppliers. Also, if he will arrange for them to be sent individually, as the further distribution could get messy. If we can obtain these prices without months of hassle i'm def in!!
  6. an update!.. I took my lights out, and tried to split them, but they seem to have a fold in the plastic, so you cant just cut the sealant. I've had to clean up as much as i could with an old toothbrush. they've come up okay, but theres still a line through the middle. I've put sealant around all the edges now though, so hopefully they wont get any worse. I'd still be interested to know if anyone has actually got the lens apart!?
  7. I dont really know! The first i heard of them was when my Dads GF was looking at buying an end of line VR6. She ran a VW specialist garage with her ex husb before she met my dad, and had owned a very nice MK2 scirocco GTI. That was a few years before i started driving, and it got lost in the back of my head as a £20k car! A few years later a mate bought a 1.8 16v.. funnily enough, now for sale!: http://www.the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic.php?t=38236 .. and i was shocked at how reasonable insurance was. Being 22 with points, this was a major factor, and i ended up with a 1.8 16v. About 6 months on i sold that and bought a mates G60, which i still have.
  8. I'm sure i saw a thread about resealing in-pro's, but can't find it any more! My rear lights have gone sludgy, and i'd like to clean and re-seal them before sunday. Can any one tell me an exact type/brand of sealant that they've used [sucessfully!] to do this?! I'm thinking i just need to: Slice through existing sealant and scrape/clean it all off, Remove gunge reseal using ______ ? Just stuck on the last bit! Also, what colour sealant should i be using?! Thanks, Baz.
  9. The pioneer has 3x 6v pre-outs! Even better! Its really difficult to say what would best suit you, depends on music style & budget, also how you like to listen to music. Im listening to a lot more radio then i used to, and my sub drove me crazy. every jingle or whatever would shake though the car! If you're mainly listening to CD's [the P77 plays WMA's & MP3's also!] then that a sub may be of benefit. Working one stage at a time you get to see what difference each componant of your set up makes.. and gives you time to budget! JBOB on here was selling a 4 channel amp, that would be good enough to use 2 channels for comps, and later adding a sub... it may be worth PM'ing him to see if its still available. As for what comp's to buy, again it can depend on music style and budget.. any idea what you wanna spend?
  10. not that amazing! pic a day ending in Y and he'll either be at stealth or audioscape!
  11. I only joined the club last april at the AGM, and have to say that last years shows, predominantly with/because of combined stands worked really well. I do think however, that this is purely because most of the people there are on the forum! Us lot talk on a daily/weekly basis, but the CCGB dont have this with thier members. I don't see the benefit to the forum of the club being combined.
  12. If you really want, I can even post you the paper. It's not a problem - honest. I also have a boot full of thigns that arrived from Audioscape too - will get some pictures later. Supercharged - It was only half a paper too, just to add insult to injury! If it would do you a favour, you could keep the paper and i'll just take those metal bits from you if you like?!
  13. "I used to get no play now she stay behind me Cause I said I had a Benz 190 But I lied and played the one Just to get some now she feels dumb" I ain't the one, NWA, 1990 i've wanted a lowrider for over 15 years now! The one in training day is a Chevy Monte Carlo.
  14. i've just fitted 205/40's to my 17x7.5" wheels, they seem perfect tbh. I've gone for Pirelli P zero nero's as i found them cheap!
  15. G60 Dave'll be along shortly...
  16. ooooohhh!!! Thats amazing!!!!!!!! 25th of nov is my brothers birthday! Sweet parcel btw! remind me not to speak to you anymore, i'm busy being jealous.
  17. Yup, great weather, cold booze, and feeble chairs! *sigh*
  18. I'm not sure my parts guy thinks about anything!
  19. there was a blue alpine in bristol a few years ago, fairly tatty, but very cool!
  20. My recommendation for headunit, as ever is the pioneer P77: http://caraudiosecurity.com/shop/produc ... /1030.html only just over your budget at £210, but you wont get anything better for SQ for the money. personally i would go with the 5.25 door idea and scrap the rears. the £50 you save on not having rears can go towards a small amp to power the fronts. [check ebay or http://www.talkaudio.co.uk/ and get something like a little Alpine or pioneer.] This will really make a differance to the sound. i took out my sub in november, and have rarely missed it. Why dont you want to fit an amp?
  21. I had new style badges on my MK3 polo, and thought it suited. They would just look wrong on a rado though.
  22. Steve_O, well if you give me one second i'll finish writing it!! It's a slower pace round here than porka!
  23. Steve_O, welcome to the forum! PM sent
