When applying threadlock does the torque change on the nut? Vw do not specify threadlock on these nuts and liquid threadlock is a lubricant so will change the torque setting. Do not use any threadlocking compound unless you have to or it is specific requirement to the bolt / nut The original bolts are self locking with nylon insert so should not come loose if correctly torqued

Check the warm up regulator on the side of the head - it has a blue plug and 2 fuel hoses going to it. Remove the blue plug and measure the resistance on the terminals - should be approx 24 ohms i think, if no resistance at all warm up coil broken which means fuel pressure will be wrong and warm up regulator needs replacing. Had simular problem with one of my golfs last year

i have also seen lowered cars with the lump in the sump for the oil pickup for the pump flattened by grounding out - this may be worth a quick look underneath

Just a quick question - does anyone know the correct torque for the bolt that secures the drive pulley to the charger?
-
Too expensive for me m8 . Example - we retail 6PK1650 belts (Bosch, Dayco, Gates) for £9.80 + vat .. Ok - correct me if i am wrong £9.80 + £3.50p&p + VAT = £15.63 :!: How is £15.63 cheaper than £14 :?: :!: The GSF website list the std G60 belt as 1660 - when it should be a 1650 Also i am offering the smaller belt for smaller pullies for £14 all in when other companies sell them for £20 + VAT and p&p etc
-
No problem i will see what i can do next week if you have some info on part numbers

Just looked into it and found that i cam supply a Continental 6pk1635 belt for 65/68mm pulleys including p&p for £14 - would anyone be interested in these at this price? I can also supply a 6pk1650 for standard pulleys at the same price just a putting out a feeler at the moment to gauge interest comments please! Oh by the way if you did not know Continental are a major OE supplier (inc VAG) so no quality issues here

i have had a look and think yoyure hoses are 22 and 25 mm I have some 24mm split tubing that should do both - see photo VW use this stuff on MK3 Golfs etc PM me if this is what you want And yes storm i am an AC specialist
-
will have a look what ive got later - is it for both the suction and discharge hose? I am guessing that it is a Diavia kit with Goodyear galaxy hose?
-
Thanks for the answer - however the std belt is not accepteble as the tensioner is to far down its travel. Also belts should be changed approx every 10K when running a charger, so if someone knows the correct size it would be useful.
-
how much and what size do you need - i may be able to help
-
Armaflex is the is the original foam padding - this may be hard to refit because the pipe will need to be removed to do the job properly. Nylon split tubing is the other acceptable option You will need to measure the OD of the pipe to obtain the correct size
-
hello - does anybody know the poly-vee drivebelt size that you use when fitting a 68mm pulley - i am guessing that it will be shorter than the 6PK1650 original ?
-
smoothrite every time - use 3 coats as blue_joe says and will look OE. use paint from a tin not a spray can though cost about 5 quid from B&Q
-
thanks for the quick answer vr6storm - next question - will the chrome badge from a mk2 golf fit the early C grill?
-
just bought a C The car has the lower front spoiler missing - can anyone tell me if it should have a 50 or 90mm one? also should it have a chrome or black front grill badge? oh the car is 91 G60 thanks in advance
