  1. i would definetley value a leathered-up C as worth more than £300 over a cloth interior one.........of course dependant on condition
  2. i'm getting confused a bit here,as i was always under the impression the VR is more akin to being a staggered straight 6 rather than a conventional Vee engine :?: :?: :?: or am i way off the mark here     ......just trying to broaden my very limited engine knowledge here btw
  3. as ive said before in the other thread take it to a well recognised AUTO-Transmission specialist..........they should be able to give a more honest idea as to whats needed doing.....though for ultimate bargaining  ........also take it to your local $tealer....pound to a penny they'll condemn it and quote over £2k for supply and fitting a new one
  4. if you are paying more for it than a similar age/miles/cond VR6 auto i would try and get it insured on an agreed value basis if i were you, just so you have piece of mind if the worst(heaven forbid) should happen...........cos by the sounds of what you're saying it is indeed a rare beastie 8) though i would also get that autobox checked out.........best to take it to a well-recognised Auto transmission specialist for them to diagnose and work it into the price cos IIRC somebody(can't remember who  ) on the forum has just had to replace their autobox and they were originally looking at a near £1500 bill to do so......tho IIRC they sourced a 2nd-hand unit and got the final bill to just over £1000.........still alarming nevertheless
  5. as devilboy says yer C looks stunning chewy 8) 8) 8) ...............we have a vee-dub meet the last sunday of each month in aberdeen btw...........would be nice if you could make the trip so we could see it in the flesh too
  6. well you learn something new everyday  .................so whats the spec on it then m8??? and how much did oettinger do to it :?:
  7. have a look here stu http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/download.php?id=6532 this is mine side on with approx a 65mm drop
  8. AFAIK your retention money is non-refundable.......besides IIRC its only £25 per year per number, the £105 figure that you maybe have been quoted includes the £80 transfer fee............so after your initial £105 its only £25 per year to keep a plate on retention............tho this figure has maybe changed as i had A2 GON on retention from Sept 95 to Aug 01
  9. looking good g-man 8) 8) 8) 8) 8)
  10. not exactly asking the earth for it,and as its had a new charger that should be one worry less......tho it all depends on when this was done........if it was a "new" charger 3-4 years ago then i would still budget for getting the charger inspected, also try and get as long as possible MOT on it,if its only got for example 9 months test then i would offer to pay for another test fee and get a years ticket on it,also find out what chip is in it and if the pulley has been changed too, same with cam-belt too other than that its in a good colour and appears to be near standard looking which is always nice to see IMHO
  11. the main worry though would be the state of the autobox...........especially if it is a VR6 auto, cos a tuned VR and an autobox don't strike me as being a successful marriage :|
  12. yes.......as skid has just purchased some tasty RX's from the aberdeen halfords just a couple of weeks back for a not too exorborant price either
  13. aint heard of a 16v autobox either........one thing it could be is a "X"-tuned VR6 auto with an oettinger bodykit....well worth following up regardless tho
  14. and thump us even more if they have the brass neck to continue with their planned fuel tax rise due later this year
  15. hmmmmm that wouldnt your avatar girly's reflection in your door by any chance? :-P :-P :-P
  16. i'll move this into servicing and suppliers
  17. koni coilovers for under £600   ......well done 8) thats some serious bargain
  18. Scotts of London were also nothelle agents...........and IIRC oettinger Corrado's were mainly 16v's............perhaps whoever is selling is getting there wires crossed(or maybe its me   ) and is saying a nothelle converted VR6 is an oettinger conversion.........its just ive heard plenty about the Nothelle VR's but ive never heard about oettinger VR's :| as regard to insurance........unless you go to a specialist insurer(preferably one who knows their vee-dubs) chances are most insurers won't have a clue about what it is ........
  19. what GPC list on their site is just a tiny selection of what they sell
  20. some nice pics you have there paulg60 8) anyway i'll move this into the general car chat section tho.........as its not strictly an event announcement so to speak
  21. i can totally vouch for these armor-all car wash wipes........they are pretty good to use if your car is just mildly dirty.....amazingly enough they don't pick up any bits of grit from the paintwork either so no worries about scratching yer paint
  22. Sorry. Bogey green Corrado owners don't open their wallet up for donations ;) especially scottish classic green storm owners  :-P :-P :-P
  23. i'd be seriously worried if my bogies were the same colour as my storm :-P :-P :-P
  24. looks decent enough for the dough..............fog-lights are gonna hurt you money wise as they are near on impossible to get hold of 2nd-hand so its either the $tealer or GPC for them but the cheapest will be over £50  ,the C/L could just be something as simple as a flat battery in the remote, and the 2 keys could be just a previous owner fitting either a new handle or ignition switch(probably the former  ) and not using the existing lock, the only thing that in my opinion doesnt do it any favours is the grey interior.....but this is just down to personal taste, other than that it looks decent enough
