  1. my knowledge    of the grubby bits is almost if not worse than yours  ..........but i would imagine 2.9 Pistons are different to 2.8 pistons size-wise(tho admitedlly a small difference).....given that there is a difference in bore size?????
  2. yeah AFAIK,cos Emax(Euan Maxwell) had his on order about the same time as mine and he was told they were out of stock and that VW were going back to the manufacturer (VDO) to see if they would make up another batch........though AFAIK VDO said no  interestingly enough the "build" stamp on my set indicates a December 93 date    but totally agree with you there Asim, they should have been a standard fitment, though think they were maybe a Factory option???????? but imagine the price didnt justify it........it was only after crazymarcel's first couple of posts here saying that the $tealers were selling them "cheapish" that spurred me on to get mine cos they were pretty hard to get from GPC too
  3. It was in Top Gear mag a couple of months back - think it was a metallic blue 550 or 575m. tbh i reckon that was more for PR picture purposes.............in the early 90's most of the police forces used a Jaguar XJ220 just for the same PR purpose.........as i had a poster  of one with our local Police force stickers on it........they just put on and off the stickers to suit each Police force that patricipated in the PR exercise,it also IIRC had a number plate like K999JAG
  4. Help me out here bad boy!!!!!! How can i view your pics ? you need to be signed in to view pics..............and they're on page 1 of this thread
  5. probably cos they have the "gold-plated" markings on them.......BBS  .......though tbh they are a good quality wheel
  6. AFAIK nothing other than what you've mentioned
  7. cheers Bojmobile,seanoVR,vr6corrado and of course Asim  , much appreaciated................ anyway here's some more pics for your perusal  ......this time including pics of my aux.guage panel which i managed to obtain from my local $tealer early on this year..........though seemingly i managed to get the last RHD one in the VW network.....also many thanks to crazymarcel and Henny for their help and input into it
  8. sandy on this forum has a tidy set of Tarox(i think)big brakes on his G60
  9. thought thats whats on already??? ah-ha a very common misconception  ............the 288mm brake upgrade was only to the Golf VR from Aug/Sept 95(aka 96M/Y),and seeing as Corrado production ceased prior to the 96 M/Y the Corrado VR never got them, any that have them have been retro-fitted
  10. chubbybrown also is missing e/w esr and i think the adjustable steering too
  11. the chromed speedlines compliment the body colour very nicely matey 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) ........looking damn good too 8) 8) 8) 8)
  12. reckon they are chancing it a bit............my stealer quoted me £250+vat a year or so ago   still not cheap but cheaper than what you've been quoted  .......
  13. well eventually got my storm in for some paintwork to the front,bumper/bonnet/grille/wings and mirrors.....just stone-chips,minor scrapes and a wee bit of RUST!!!   also treated the front to a kamei grille spoiler 8) .......anyway thanks to Skid for recomending an old mate of his who's damn good with the old spray gun and painting lark...........tho at his own speed.........well worth the wait IMHO...........so all i need now is to get my shrick fitted(pending) and have the front seats retrimmed or replaced with beige leather recaro's 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) (not so pending tho :( :( ) anyway hope you enjoy the pics
  14. totally agree with you there mate
  15. yip its been discussed before and IIRC the consensus was that it was just a lot of hot-air and the fertile imagination of an american Vee-dubber....as whoever "designed" "it" was on about "it" being RWD as opposed to VW's FWD program.........
  16. more straight angles than a box too  .............and they still fetch decent money too
  17. well u cant get better than Vince from what i hear.........i'm sure he'll get you all sorted out
  18. i like them!...........damn sexy looking exterior and interior too......especially in red leather 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8)
  19. funnily enough ive also experienced this.....tho very intermitently.......but not since i had my fuel pump replaced(due to failure) in October 03.......it might also be an idea to check fuel pump fuses and relays just to make sure that they dont have corrosion on the terminals or are seated properly what you also have to remember too is that the youngest Corrado is approaching 9 years old so most if not all will need some sort of fettling
  20. i reckon that its 99% sure that the water temp. guage is reading over........mine is like that too....very scary......but when i had it hooked up to the VAG-COM it correlates to about 98 degrees tops...........so not as scary
  21. for those of you who don't know who moonlightVR is.....i can totally vouch for Asim, although i've not bought anything from any of his previous group-buys he's arranged... well i did pull out of his samco one a year or so ago ......all of them have had damn good savings 8) ,Asim is a genuine VW-enthusiast who bargains hard for Vee-dubbers and hasnt any alterior motives for doing so btw Asim...........can you make my cheque out for C A S H  :-P
  22. Asim mate, must say i'm damn jealous of you.........that is one very very nice subtly modded VR you've got there..............looks as good if not better than my all-time fave C VR(Bill Aitken's 8) )
  23. sounds a bit strange.............unless of course you have an aftermarket oil-cooler fitted....(tho even then 60-70 degrees seems a bit lowish to me).............best get someone with VAG-COM check it out and/or someone who is knowledgeable on the quirks of the VR too.........it just might be something simple as a temp sensor thats goosed or maybe something more sinister is afoot   tho funnily enuff a mate of mine has a VR that rarely gets over 80 degrees on the water temp guage regardless of driving style(can't remember what temp he gets with oil tho  )
  24. .....and it also looks like the seats are beige leather too.............so looks like an interior transplant has occured at some point as the carpets and trims look grey to me
  25. you'll know Matt with the G60 ltd(and S3 engined Mk2 8) ) then,and Zac and Richie etc etc
