hmmmm.........right.....i'm no expert here btw but it could be.........alternator,water pump or starter motor........also have u checked the condition of the S-belt that runs the alt. and water pump?.....ideally it should be free of cracks

IIRC it was KIA or Proton of all companies.............tho only offered with a N/A engine and not the ISUZU one as fitted by lotus.......tho teechnically they didnt actually take over production i think they just built them under license for their home markets

as Henny says the K&N panel filter is going to save you cash in the long run........also if you mod the airbox by removing the snorkel and other superflous internals of the airbox you can get a damn nice induction note too.............just ask Joe M & dickdastardly they have modded airboxes in their VR's

they used to over £100+vat but now IIRC they are something more palatable as in £60-ish

could also be the infamous cam.pos sensor too.........it can "lose" a VR 30bhp+ so i've heard :shock:

though it wasnt all bad at the RSOC........some extremely nice old Fordies which i'm a great fan of...........anyway here was a very tidy RS1600i just 2 spaces away from the red RS2000 4x4 "pirelli-goodrich" edition :roll: must admit much as i like the Mk1 GTi i would rather have a Mk3 escort XR3/XR3i/RS1600i/S1 turbo -
just guessing cos its the same platform as the mk4 golf et'al that it'll be 5x100pcd
