well you'll be more than welcome jamie....you never know your C might surprise you......but weren't you at the wee stirling meet last year too?
-
dubster82 won't be taking his C down to star next month.....he was in a crash(not in his thankfully) and is now nursing a broken collar bone also just had glen on the phone earlier on and he's booked my C into AmD for a custom re-chip so hopefully i'll be hitting the magic 200bhp mark after that.....though will get a set of figures from star-p to see how much of a difference their rolling-road has to AmD's
-
maybe your bigger alloys and your dodgy clutch release bearing contributed to your transmission losses :? as i know my tyres were just replaced 2 months before the the milltek was fitted and thats maybe why my drag output increased :?
-
the milltek is a good quality piece though i do have a small problem just lately where its started banging/knocking against the rear bumper(i think) though hopefully getting that looked at/sorted at star-performance next month as for price it worked out at approx £340 fitted(cat-back) and all in....the main thing i noticed was the deeper burble at idle which i liked and when you hit 3+k revs it has a nice not too loud roar as i've mentioned earlier the only problem with it seems to be this knock i've started getting....though not all the time also it has made a noticable difference to my power figures too hth
-
just looked out my last set of dyno figures when i got my milltek fitted by star-performance in september last year anyway heres the breakdown of my figures(pre-milltek figures in brackets.....march 2002's rolling-road day figs approx 43k btw) Milltek figures taken at approx 48k miles Norm power...........193bhp(187.5) Engine output.........189bhp(183) Wheel output..........143.5bhp(145.5) Drag output............45.5bhp(37.5) Torque...................186lbf-ft(183) Max power @ 113mph or 5930rpm(110mph/5790rpm) Max torque @ 81mph or 4270(85mph/4450rpm) so going by those the vr6 loses a bit more than just 15% though i've also been told that as my vr6 is fairly low miles and has had mainly city use that the engine is still relatively "tight"
-
nice looker chris what sort of rims are those though? and go on give it a wash   LOL
-
she's a 8) looker 8) Joby
-
to be honest i must be one of the few people who are glad that vw haven't replaced the Corrado  as i think it keeps our ones special and a wee bit of the "future classic" feel about them just my £0.02p's worth
-
for all those going to the scottish rolling road day at star next month.......i've now been told that its from 9am onwards......well thats according to john kerr who is the scottish region host hth
-
sad to hear your news jim  i'll tell you now enjoy your last few weeks with it,as it may take a while to get over it  though no dis-respect meant here btw  ...........but i reckon it won't be at a vw-main-dealers for sale......its more than likely a vw-specialist dealer thats snapped her up........main dealers don't as a rule underwrite other main dealers trade-ins....personnally i reckon volkswizard has snapped it up....though of course i could be wrong  anyway keep us posted on where it surfaces at and hopefully see you back in a corrado before too long
-
it is indeed a 3litre in the gtv.......226bhp too,imo one of the best looking coupes since the C 8) also joe i think you might find that you too will be wheelspinning in 3rd  when you get your vr6.....its the product of too much horses for the t/c to cope with
-
very funny jim LOL
-
sorry guys but IMHO it reminds me too much of the late-80's aftermarket (mkiv) xr3i/rst bodykits  ....
-
about time you posted some pics.......
-
i think tony's one has a few less miles than yours andrew, but as he's going to be going to star next month you'll be able to find out how it compares to yours if you go too.....same rolling road and conditions etc
-
Trust me something will ! :D If its got tits or tyres it gives trouble! like your style scott   btw did your brother get his xr2 sold????and did he get a good price???
-
bigger ouch too   you've forgotten to add vat and carriage  as i said i'm only passing the info on,and although its come through my vwccgb contact e-mail addy as far as i know and am aware it is in no-way approved or endorsed by the vwccgb
-
hi all, as some of you may or may not know i'm assistant scottish region vwccgb host, anyway just recieved this through my contact e-mail address thought it might be of some interest to all you g-lader guys; Hi we are GMC motorsport and have been involved with tuning cars for 30 years, one aspect is supercharging and we are the UK agents for Rotrex who do a conversion kit to replace the unreliable standard G60 unit (also for Golf and Passat) and wondered if your members knew of it and if they may be interested. The conversion kit costs £2304 plus carriage and VAT. There is also a deposit charge on the support bracket of £300. The benefits of this system, apart from reliability is extra power. The standard Rotrex charger kit gives an extra 10 bhp, the reason being the design of the Rotrex is a centrifugal not displacement as the G Lader is. Our charger takes less power to drive it and also does not heat up the intake air as much. They also do a bigger charger to give more power if required at an extra £60, taking power to 200 bhp. For more details please contact myself either by email or phone 01671-403606 and maybe a look at our web site on http://www.gmcmotorsport.co.uk could be of interest especially the New Products section. Regards Richard anyway hope this is of any use to you though don't actually know myself if its a good or inferior product, just passing the details on

Need advice and tips on repairs I'm about to do

phil, you definately need 4 of them(2 on each side at the rear) and they are calliper retaining bolts(as you'll more than likely f*** them up undoing them),also the part numbers have probably been superseded though if the stealer's parts man has any idea he will be able to check them with the "old" part number that i've given you....according to my mate who uses etka a lot this is seemingly a common problem with etka,if your etka edition is recent then some part no's will be different to say an earlier edition of etka, though as i've said the stealer should be able to check the "old" numbers out a wee tip from my mate who did mine last year is to pack the holes for these bolts with grease etc as its going to make it a lot easier for doing in the future hth -
could well be......where did you see it advertised then andrew?
-
hi joe, there seemingly is one up here (aberdeen) with 53k miles on the vwccgb classifieds, though one of the vwccgb club members has e-mailed me about it to see if i would have a look over it for him to see if its worth him coming up from preston to view i'll keep you posted on it anyhow as for the one down south i think he bought it for approx £6k and is trying to make a £3k profit on it.....the reason i say this is they had an advert wanting corrado vr6's and up to £6k paid........though it his a very tidy looking one admittedly
-
i remember someone from the yahoo-group(last year) saying they were £50ea too :?
