Surprisingly not, I didn’t like the rear suspension set-up, give me a sold beam anyday. The Syncro was a test build before transferring it into another shell, I bough a Rallye shell but the log book came back with a few discrepancies so I sent it back, at the same time Coxy decided he didn’t like the colour of the Corrado I sold him so I bought it back. I was going to mid mount an engine and make it RWD but then another 1.8t came up so I snapped it up, hence the twin engine project old Syncro, sat well but needed a diff in it. i'm 6' but the seat is on the floor so it looks like a kids at the wheel  N/S/F tyre from Croft, should have kept an eye on the tyre pressures   -

Yep, it was off the old syncro I built, all sold now as it was surplus to requirements. See http://www.20vsyncro.co.uk/MyGolfSyncro.htm for the last car i built, some of the bits will be going on this one -

Rear track is a little wider than I though it would be, that’s on 7x15” MO’s but I have a set of 8x17” MO’s to go on. The inside is going for paint but the outside will have to wait till all the running gear is on so I can stretch or alter the rear arches. The rear hubs are MK2 16V fronts with 5 stud flanges fitted (off the front of the old Syncro) which will have the 305mm discs and Brembo 4 pots. Once it’s done I’ll decide on what to do with the 10x 15” MO’s I already have, if the 17’s suit it I’ll sell all the 15’s and replace them with more 17’s. ARB’s are a pair of Eibach front Corrado VR items ordered as a pair of fronts through GSF, the mounting of the rear bar may differ from the front depending on whether I use the Passat VR or Corrado VR arms on the rear. -

Has the rear axle have ABS or not? I’ve sent Phatty some Haldex info I had, not sure if it’ll be of use but it may be worth asking. -

MK2 cage????? opps my bad, meant cage  The cage wasn’t too hard to fit, just kept on shortening the legs to fit and tilt the cage slightly forwards until it followed the contour of the roof. I’m not sure on the fit if you were going to try and keep some of the interior, I would have though it would fit down the side of the rear seats (if your not using a rear diagonal) but as for the dash I’m not sure, I’ll post some pics of the cage around the front once there resized. Good thing is that this lowers the door bars so it would be easier to get in and out of a std car. -

popped in place, sick of welding upper firewall mount fitted so the harness will fit round the cage infront of it, the rusty bit is a front engine stabilizer mounting with a rose joint onto the upper cage brace. uprights fitted for the fuel tank mounts to bolt to just inside the rear quaters firewall mounts tacked in place, hope to fit the fuel pumps under the floor out of the way. -

I found the top bolts were a tw@t to get in with the fuel tank fitted. What you using as a controller for the Haldex? -

One engine is an 03 plate MK4 and the other an Octavia 1.8T, identical, one mapped by Jabba and one by JBS, both claim 235bhp but I think it’s a little optimistic. About 440 to 470 bhp as they are :D :D :D -
Could you keep a small section around the roof skin for the boot mount etc and have a carbon inner skin mounted to it?? or an ally skin

lower platform for the fire wall, the floor under the rear seats is like the north sea so this gives it a nice flat section 'top hat' section to give clearance for the harness on the next upper brace bar once the ally firewall is fitted brace from the cage to shell + on right is the top ic mount -

rear axle has gone with the arms, it was fitted with 5std drive flanges so it may not have been any good for you + the boot floor had to be cut into sections to remove it... sorry gearbox's linked to one leaver (pics to follow when it's done) twin box's with same ratio's and codes + 2x peolquins C/O Mr Phatski :D -

start of the rear subframe mountings cut out the old top mounts and fit MK2 fronts Strengthen the rear towers with 3mm plate curved round the towers -
Started by accident as I bought another 1.8t engine identical to the one I already had and it seemed rude not to use it. I bought the Corrado back and the boot floor which had been replaced by the previous owner (coxy) had to come out anyway as he’d fitted the late boot floor. So once the floor was cut back out it was too tempting not to go a little further and fit the spare engine in the back. Started by trying to adapt the MK2 cage I had to stiffen the shell before fabricating the rear subframe pickup points. The cage had to be lowered because of the roof height of the Corrado and tilted slightly down at the front, it fitted nicely and almost touches the inside of the shell in all the right places old boot floor on it's way out starting to fit the cage start to weld it in after making the new feet then start and cut the vents in the rear panel for the rear rad and coolers
