  1. Just tried most of the insurance contacts listed. Awaiting results from many and gunna call the 0870 ones from work tomorrow. best quote so far is from RAC though kinetic insurance it's £100 cheaper than any other quote so far, amazing.

  2. more international spotting

Parked next to a green 16v on the car ferry from Killimer in Ireland. I didn't notice it but my girlfriend did. I went and had a chat with the Irish lad, nice bloke said he bought his car in Devon, I told him about the forum I wonder if he's here yet?

  3. Spotted a aqua blue on the A453 last night (Thusday 23rd). It was heading out of Nottingham and was spotted in front of the lights just over from Sainsbury and castle marina retail park. I gave a weak half wave and you hadn't seen me, but I wanted to impress other road users.

  4. Saw a couple over the weekend. A aqua blue pearl on the A38 a mile north of Bristol airport, you waved, I waved, my girlfriend thought I was "sad".

And what I think was a gun metal grey travelling very fast south on the M42 just south of Tamworth (on the two lane section of motorway), a bit to close to bike for my liking

  5. Saw a couple over this weekend. On saturday I followed a G-reg Aqua blue pearl from Trent Bridge to Safeway on the A52 (nottingham)

And another aqua blue on a road just outside Matlock bath, I waved but I think it was a bit late, that was on Sunday at about 12:30pm

  6. Just fitted a Laerline 291. I think it is pretty much the same as the 998. Had no problems so far except the total closure using the alarm doesn't work. But from what I have read on here that is because the locking pluse hasn't been set to come on for long enough, that should be sorted by the end of the week.

  7. Cheers dude. Did search the Forum before, but used the wrong search terms me thinks.

Will get a new multimeter, I think my £3 item from Maplins is shagged, and then start checking things. fingers crossed it's the boot light.

    ;-)

  8. The problem: If I lleave my car for 3-4 days it will not start (plus the digital clocks don't show and the central locking doesn't work). I know the alarm system is not the cause of the problems, but what could it be.

    Have you experienced this before?

The car is booked in at an autoelectricians for Monday, but any ideas I can pass on might cut down the time they spend fault finding.

    thanks

  9. Seen a couple recently, but always when I am on the bus or in my girlfriends car.

There was a black VR6 on the A6 just north of lufbra.

Yesterday (Sunday) saw a aqua blue pearl K-reg (not mine thankfully) on the A453 right next to east midlands airport. My girlfriend said it was a VR6 but her eyesight is bad, I think it might be the 16v I passed on the bus at EMA the last week.

One day i'll spot someone who posts on here.......one day

  10. Seen three recently

First went past while I was having lunch at a pub in Swarkestone on bank holiday Monday.

Second was a black N reg VR6 at a car park around east midlands airport

third was a aqua blue pearl valver further on round east midlands in a different car park. I was on the bus as my car is having new alarm and immobilser sorted.

  11. Hey if you need character references to show that Range rover drivers are often pricks I'll volunteer. Had an old range rover on my arse a month ago doing a fair rate of knots. I had to brake quite hard cause of traffic up ahead, the range rover just about stopped without hitting me. I should have got out and given the guy (I didn’t see that it was a bloke, but aggressive driving like that is often men) a very large piece of my mind.

  12. So then. After Clarkson went from London to Edinburgh and back on one tank in an Audi A6. What's the max MPG you can get out of your corrado.

I got 37.3mpg out of the VR6 after travelling on the A14 for an hour.

Give it ago, it's quite addictive once you get started.

  13. I had a conlong logic 100 (maybe it was 200?) on my old golf. Thought hte system was fine, until the ultrasonics developed a fault and kept setting the alarm off. It was a good system must have been in the 9 years before any problems developed.

  14. Yep, Phoned Sextons yesterday and they didn't seem to care, they have been pretty rude to me before when I needed a new remote keyfob, so will be giving them a miss. London car radio is only just down the road so I'll pop in there first.

aside: was getting the car out of the garage last night to go and look at a house. The g-friend said that my brake lights weren't work. I was a bit annoyed. Was the brake light failure related to the alarm failure, which caused which? Didn't really fancy driving around with no brake lights, but there was no choice I had to go. Later on when we getting back into the car I asked her to put her foot on the brake pedal so I could see for myslef that both lights weren't working. That is when she said "brakes lights! brake lights? Sorry I meant to say reversing lights"

Well thats not as dangerous, and it turns out I was just not pushing the gear level far enough to engage the lights. problems solved. Make up your own women and technology jokes

  15. mornin' all,

anyone heard of a tracker for under £200? I think I saw a new system in the driving section of the sunday times a few months ago, works only on the mobile phone network I think....not sure......can't actually remember my arse from elbow at the moment. Can't remember what it was called.

so whats the best alarm/immobilser for a corrado, with not too many frills and buttons?

  16. Hi All,

I have a sigma alarm system fitted to my C. Yesterday it started going off 40 seconds after it is activated. I have no idea what the cause could be. I can't find any broken wires or bust fuses (though I have only checked the main fuse box, would there be a separate fuse elsewhere for the alarm?). Anyone else experience this problem? Anyone know of good alarm technician's or auto Electrician's in the Nottingham/Lufbra area?

At least the immobilser still works, and the big bolt and vicious dog  (well small hamster  ) guarding the garage should do there job.

    thanks
