looks like my corrado is going to need a new ignition barrell and key assembly. I obviously want to keep the same key, is it possible to order an igntion barrell with same key as I have for rest of car? How much?
-
yes looks just like sellotape, how do i get rid of it

what is the best way to get rid of surface scratches in metallic paint.

Am tidying up my corrado and have noticed a thin strip on both the drivers and passenger door. It runs on the inside of the door aand is parrallel with the door rubber. It seems to be some sort of seal as it runs the whole length of the door, Thing is it is bubbling and peeling away from the paint and looks unsightly(paint underneath is fine. Can I remove it? How do i remove it?

My corrado has a different key for the passenger door to the rest of the car. Is there a way to make all locks the same, i.e can I get a lock for the passenger door to match the rest? Apparently the previous owner had to change the door handle but why would you change the lock?

just out of interest how did you pay?

I am considering starting to do my own work on my mk2 Golf gti. May then move onto the corrado! I have done an oil and filter change, air filter. I think the front brake pads are starting to bind, they are a bit low. So need changing really. They start to squeak/squeal when they get hot which stops when you apply the brakes I have been looking at the Haynes manual as a start, and it seems that you only need basic tools Seems okay, just need to get some copper grease and a set of brake pads. Have to admit to being very wary about working on the brakes as if you make a mistake you could bascially end up killing yourself! Is there anybody in the wrexham area who I could turn to for help if i get into difficulties? Bit cheeky I know but am p****d off at paying garage charges. Hell they charge 7-8 times more than i earn per hour!

To be honest not that keen on modern cars, however next car may be a tdi possibly audi a3. Would also consider the seat ibiza cupra tdi 160bhp!

To be honest have wondered what will replace the corrado and mk2 gti and was thinking audi a3. Maybe I am getting to old! Though wouldnt mind a go in an evo

Dont think I mind shopping anymore. Do the shopping, have a meal, get your hair cut, sort out car and home insurance, get your car done, all under one roof. Will save a lot of time Amazing

Yes know where Caergwrle, have been to mold a few times. I live in holt not far from wrexham. My old man uses an estate car with a tow bar for the trailer. He has done quite well out of being self employed. Main problem like you say is start up costs and getting your name known. You would have to make a lot of sacrifcies intially, maybe have to sell the corrado :( . My old man has never looked back, plus its surprising how many ways there are for the self employed to avoid paying tax! :D

I have a mk2 golf gti as well, this needs a bit of work doing, namely rear break discs and pads(rear wheels bearings though I think these get done same time as the brakes). Needs knocking noise from front sorting, think it may be engine mount. Where are wilsons in rhuddlan, how much you think they may charge? cheers mark

cheers mate have enclosed some pics, it is mint and took me over 6 months to find this one! I really dont want to let it go but if i dont find anything by end of jan then it will have to go. Though have considered working in Sainsburys! Do you know any garages you would recommend?

gixxer-my dad is also a painter and decorator!. I was going to work with him when I left school, but decided against it. He is based in shropshire where i used to live and has worked for himself for over 25 years. Have you ever considered working for yourself? Apparently there is a shortage in the building trade. Only Donna I remember was a team leader in the production area, not sure what her second name is? Am considering selling my corrado as I have no job. It is a 1994 VR6 with only 78000 miles and full history. Leather interior and a very nice car. Dont want to sell it but unless I can find a job soon she may have to go. Problem I have is that my job is quite specialised (microbiology lab technician) so may have to move away. Where abouts in wrexham you live?
-
hi mate Have also been out of work since NOV 21st. Used to work Ipsen as a lab techncian on wrexham industrial estate. I actually handed in my notice to work as a team leader for eclipse scientiific as couldnt cope with 15 hours days. Where abouts did you work? Not the best time of year to be out of work I know, hopefully new year will bring better news. Good luck in the job hunt mark

hi andy665 cheers for that mate, do they plug into the cigarette lighter. Ideally, like one that does to save opening the bonnet all the time

My girlfriend has got a new seat ibiza sport TDI. Not the leon but same make. She has had the car since sept and has so far had no problems! Touch wood! She used to have a polo, but to get a polo sport tdi would have cost her £3000 more!! The only thing I would say about her car (not sure if it applies to the seat leon) is that the build quality is not the same as VW. The quality of the plastics, trim, head lining etc.. doesnt have the same quality feel as the polo (and my corrado) Having said that when or if I sell my corrado and mk2 golf gti, I would seriously look at the Seat Ibiza/Leon cupra TDI (160BHP) and decent fuel economy!! Only other car would be Audi A3. Just dont like the look of other vw.

Hi I own a corrado VR6 that I use only occasionally in the winter. Does anybody have any experience of using these trickle battery chargers that plug into the cigarette lighter? There are some solar powered ones, and one that plug into an electrical socket. Was wondering how effective they were? How do they charge the battery? Do they do any possible damage to the cars electrics?

Can you polish swirl marks out of metallic finishes?
