hi coolrado, Am going to possibly be out of work soon, so am considering anything at the moment. Not the best time of year to be out of work! Thats why I am considering selling the corrado and using the golf gti. Have an interview in speke, so from my home in Holt would be going round runcorn. What is the road like round runcorn to speke?

Passed my test in may 1996 Then drove a metro :( for a few years enough said! In 1997 got me a 1990 G plate Golf driver, nice car but had problems with carb In 2000 got me GTI at last a 1991 mk2 gti16v in red, excellent car never any trouble. Also at same time I bought a mk3 golf tdi, to do the miles as it was a 60 mile trip to work. Mk3 was horrid, handling was **** and arches started go rusty. Wouldnt own a mk3 ever again. In summer 2003 sold the gti and kept the mk3 golf to fund my corrado purchase. But couldnt find one I wanted so bought another mk2 gti this time an 8v. I still have this GTI to date. Sold the MK3 tdi in 2004 and kept the gti. In april 2005 bought me a corrado vr6 with leather interior. Still have the gti and corrado to date. But am looking to sell the corrado

Hi coolrado, I live in holt just outside wrexham. That is one of hell of a commute down to tewkesbury how long does it take you. Am considering a job offer in liverpool which a 70 mile round trip. Nothing compared to your daily trip

Would be nice to walk to work. Was wondering how you find the commuting. It would a 70 mile round trip i.e 35 mile each way.

HI Was wondering how far you guys commute for your job. Am considering taking a job with a 70 mile daily trip. Have a mk2 gti to do the trip (would average about 40-45mpg). Obviously wouldnt take the corrado(for sale in the classifieds) I seem to remember an article in the VWM magazine where a woman was doing a 200mile a day round trip in a mk2 16v. I think the car reached 270,000 miles or something like that My mk2 is an 8v with 105,000 miles so just run in compared with that

yes the girlfriend calls it the colorado, isnt that some place in canada. She also doesnt like my mk2 gti(also with leather interior)

hi, Have owned 4 mk 2 golfs and currently own a mk2 gti as my run around. To be honest I would be looking at a post 1990 car ideally the driver model. (fuel economy wise driver should average high 30s) I would ring a couple of insurance companies to get a rough idea on cost? I wouldnt bother with the 1.3 they are very underpowered. Things to look for include Check for rear sticker in boot on back panel, not there, then could have been in accident Usual checks, smoke on start up, mayonaiise on filler cap. etc... Will have look to see if there is anything happy hunting mark

What should the corrado vr6 oil temp be? My car runs at 112 on motorway. But water temp gauge never goes above halfway. One thing I have noticed is that the fan only comes on when i take the key out of the igntion? any idea? sorry to hijack you thread!!

I am thinking of selling my corrado VR6, what do think it is worth. My local VW speacialist thinks it could be worth £7500 to the right buyer. It is a 1994 vr6, 78,000 miles in decent condition. Has leather interior with heated front seats, all mots from new, FSH, Recent CD player(£200), Is Bright blue in colour. Will try and get some pics posted

Have got a battery from Euro car parts. Fitted it and nothing! NO light on the instrument panel, Charged the old battery lights come on but not enough to turn engine over. I am assuming they have given me a duff battery. How do i tell? Least I hope they have

I have a corrado vr6. I havent started the car for about 3 weeks now. I have charged the battery for over 6 hours, but still car wont start! Think it might be the battery, how do i check it is before i buy a new one. The radio does work which is confusing!! What is the biggest battery i can get away with. cheers in advance of any advice mark

is there any maintenance to be done on the gas system itself. How reliable are these gas conversions?

hi I own a corrado vr6 and am considering having a lpg gas conversion. Has anyone had this done or seen it done? Are there any problems? Am going to keep the car for a while now so i expect to get the £1500 back in about 2-2.5 years. cheers mark

are they easy to replace?, where is it located in the engine bay?

hi Took my vr6 to the garage as it seems to be lacking perfomance. Came back with a problems with Camshaft Position Sensor. Will this affect the performance? and also the general running? How easy is it to rectify? As i understand you replace the magnet. Anybody else had this problem and how did they fix it cheers mark

hi All is well now. Managed to shift it with a hammer and swearing!! The garage that put it on must of overtightened it. Or do they just go this tight after a while. Not sure about doing it again though cheers for your help mark

no def wont loosen even with filter wrench not sure about screw driver through oil filter

i think i am being really thick but. As i am looking at the oil filter on top into the engine. Do i turn the filter from left to right or form left to right? help!!
