Anticlockwise as i look at it from above?

I am trying to change the oil filter on a mk2 golf gti. As the club gti forum is closed I thought I would see if anyone here could help. I need to know which way to remove the oil filter. One book say clockwise, another anticlockwise. Anyone help me?

So the oil i have got is okay, thought you had to have different oil for diesel and petrol engines. I have had a look and can reach the sump plug without putting the car on axle stands. Am i alright to proceed? Now the filter should undo anti clockwise? ie turn the filter from left to right? and the same with the sump plug? cheers for your help mark

hi I have had quotes for changing the oil at over £60 for my mk2 golf gti and over £90 for the corrado vr6 so have decided to have a go myself. Am going to start with the golf have got the oil filter, oil and sump plug from vw for £15. Now the oil they have given me is synta in a silver bottle that says it used for fuel injection and turbo charged gasoline and diesel engines! Is the oil okay to use in both petrol and diesel engines. Do i need axle stands to support the car properly or can i get away without them. Any other advice greatly received mark

hi Have heard about people waxoling_(not sure about spelling1) there car. They inject wax into all door cavities, chassis members etc.. To help prevent rust! Anyone done this to their car and how is it done? cheers mark

I own a M plate corado vr6 with only 76000 on the clock(just breaking her in) Aqua blue and full leather interior. Also own mk2 gti 8v that has 99000(just broken in) still going strong.

hi Was wondering if anyone new where i could get locking wheel bolts for my corrado. Its a vr6 with the standard 5 stud alloys? Also anybody know any good alloy wheel refurbishers, i live in wrexham. thanks in advance of any replies mark

hi cheers for that, how much would you be looking for a set of 288mm discs, pads and calipers. How much do they improve the feel of the braking. Do you have to mod anything else like brake hoses etc.. mark

hi A problem has started when i try and turn the key, was wondering if anyone else has this problem I filled up with petrol yesterday and came to turn the key and it wouldnt turn in the barrel!! I tried it for 5 mins and still no luck. Put a bit of 3 in 1 oil and still no luck. So left it and came back after 10 mins and key turned first time! Any ideas? How much are you looking for a new ignition barrel? if that is what it is. and do have to change the key or can you buy the set to do both doors and ignition barrel. thanks in advance of your replies mark

hi The front brakes on my corrado are in need of renewing. What upgrades/mods would you recommend? I am running the standard 15'' vr6 alloys. I think the calipers may also need renewing as the seals are perishing thanks in advance of your replies mark

hi i have a corrado vr6. what size battery will fit. i know the standard size is 62 amp. but could i fit a bigger battery? cheers in advance of any replies mark

hi i have a 1994 corrado vr6. Problem is that the battery drains quickly and i have to charge it before i use the car. I only use the car about 2-3 times a month, but should the battery drain this quick Also when the car starts it has an uneven idle when cold which is okay as the car hots up. Could this be linked to the battery problem? cheers in advance of any replies# mark

the alarm is made by JR alarms yep have checked the battery. :lol: The problem is with battery connection and the battery. There are two batteries joined together with a metal strip and connected to the circuit board by a metal strip which has broke. I suppose i could try soldering it

hi having just bought my vr6 corrado. One of the remotes wont work for it. Been to local alarm place and they have said that JR alarms are not in business any more!! SO WHAT do i do know. The alarm is a total closure alarm. Looks like i need to get a new alarm fitted. how much will this be mark

yes it fits okay. And car seems to run fine with it. :D By the way below is a picture of my new corrado which i have had for about 6 weeks :D :D

hi the battery on my Corrado vr6 went this morning. So went to local motor factor and bought a lucas battery with 4 year guarantee, but not sure if it is the right one??? One i have bought is 12v 590A 60ah Is this right

hi i have a standard m plate vr6 corrado. The only i want to change or improve is the gear change. in my opinion the throw between gears is far too much. What can i do to improve and how much would it cost with the fitting I have heard a lot about short shift kits, but dont want to ruin the smoothness of the gear change. anybody help? cheers mark

hi I have the corrado vr6 and to be honest my mk2 gti feels as quick with the in gear times. Not sure about the mk2 gti 8v figures. Obviously when you hit 3500rpm in the corrado it does go.

hi dont think the abs light is coming on when i turm on the ignition. Could it be the bulb?

hi I have a 1994 vr6 corrado. As i understand it the abs light should come on briefly when you turn on the ignition. Is it the button to the left of the instrument panel, ie to the left of the steering wheel. cheers mark
