Just had my V belt done as my wide wheels pushed the plastic liner into the the belt and shredded it, NICE! Anyway, i asked them to check all the suspension geom to try and find out once and for all why one wheel sticks out more than the other and they found.................. One wishbone is 1.5-2 inches longer than the other! Drivers side being shorter, nearside being longer. I take it this is not right? App they both have VAG part numbers, shall i get them and can anyone check what the hey is going on! Good news is that he said its never been touched underneith, no damage at all, all straight as you like. Comments if you please!........................How is this possible?

Wise words Dr Matt, its bugging me that i've spent 1k on nothing in 3 months. Purely in persuit of getting it to run how it should from the factory, before tweaking anything. PS: If its not your battery it will be the starter motor plus cable I reckon. Can make a nice flash at night when its arking, quite pretty actually, depending on the weather and where it lets you down that is! It was raining when mine went and the local pub gave me the slaughtered lamb treatment when i walked in!

I've seen them, but i assume quality varies massively. Bought bad ones for golfs before. Just assumed you be in the know and would have bought a decent one hee hee! Dont joke, my friend had his nicked the other night!! How sad is that. You get your engine cover in the end ?

Your safe, we are only talking sound and I dont doubt the 260 sounds sweet! Hav'nt even seen one on the road though.

Its sad I know, but i would have out the TVR350i too, allways loved that hollow sweet kinda V8 noise they make. Much prefer it to the new straight 6 ones that just sound rattley. MIGHTY quick though (When they are working!)

I test drove a 150 tdi golf last year, great low down torque, allways a deis forte. However, I like a nice flat long torque curve, or at least one that builds in a linear fashon. Lots of exhilerating lurches and too many gear changes on deis for the raddo I recon. Would spoil the GT aspect of the car. Mind you, i think there is a big diff between a VR and a G60. Both have pros and cons and are quite different animals, fun for diff reasons...........each to there own basically

I'd sell whats left of the engine and stick a VR lump in. Then get your name on the NS racing s-charger thread deal! No offence to the T boys, much respect due. I just like the soundtrack
