This is getting stupid, just tried and tried, its just not going to happen. The spanner actually expands if you really push and goes completely over the metal lead ends. Took me 10 mins to prise the spanner of the lead on the last atempt. Bit worried theres nothing in the search about this, obviously means theres no hope for me, and i was going to do my own timing chains!

I've now spent 4 hours trying to fit new plug leads to my VR. I have the unbeleivably biggest rip off in the world ever bar none proper vw steel sleeve thing but i'm just totally at a miss to know how to do this. I can get them in and on so the rubber is over the plug but not far enough to click in properly. When i do get that reasuring click the spanner is then wedged and will only come out with the flocking plug lead. I must be missing something very fundamental here (like a brain) as this is a becide the motorway job in pooring rain not 4 hours in a garage! I need it fixed for work on monday which only gives me another 24 hrs, is it possible i ask myself.......................... :evil: :evil: :evil: :evil:

Mine does the same mate. Felt smooth when i got it, but now its a bit lumpy at idle and the exhaust does pop on the over-run once if you blip to 2k. I assumed the later was air getting into the system, but then mines on its way out anyway. I seem to be developing a flat spot too. I thought mine was HT,s as my coil pack was done 8 months ago. Im off now to borrow an ht tool from my garage as it took me 2 hrs last weekend to fit one new plug and ht, so ill let you know how it goes mate. I also thought it may be my cheap induction kit as i think my problems started there. Is yours standard induction/exhaust wise?

Nice wheels, umm, anyway i want one with or without those spoiler bits! Just going to surf now to see what i can come up with. Any idea how much i should expect to pay to get my bonnet resprayed? Rough idea as im quote hunting tommorrow! Presume i need the whole bonnet done rather than messing about with blending that never works and prob takes them longer anyway!

Just thought, the sticky up bits prob stop the centre from flapping whilst on the move? ie force the air up?

Any news on these. I saw one at the inters that had no sticky up bits, and it looked thicker and softer rather than the fake leather look, it was soft and padded. I assume they hook round the bonnet pins to prevent theft??

Any idea where to get them then? Decided to take my pair back to VW, the fronts are just the same with no fitting kit. Aparantly its fine screwing sharp metal onto your bodywork. And i was quote £22 for a set of 4 corrado onlies and it turns out they are generic and £22 a pair, so £44 plus vat = a big no thanks. I'd pay more if they were any good. Some on ebay with a big blingy vw badge but there only £9 per pair, so id rather have those as a last resort! Stealers allways leave me with a total lack of confidence..............

Sweet motor Sambo, first time of seen it on here mate. I have no welder though, and if i did i'd be dangerous! Looks like an easy upgrade route though. Trying to think who i know! Am pretty much set on the vt, but i have about 5 things varying between £120 and £400 each that i really need to do and everything im doing for the next 3-4 months is all gona be on the old credit card, so i am going to have to be sensible at some point..............mmm

Why is nothing ever simple with my car! Infact the only miracle so far is that it still has the original vag wiring for the stereo so my hu was a straight swop! Sounds like Mr Vr6 may have the only pucker/rare set?? So is it best i try with what ive got then guys?? or try and get Mr vr6 to flog me his????? And thanks for the lack of sarcasm! At least ive got 17s, so some cudos, well, when it looses its standard ride height that is!

Ordered some mud flaps for my 94 C from vag and picked up the rears today. part no 821 vag 857 labelled quantum. I made them promise on the phone that they were not generic ones and were just for the corrado moulded to suite. They have no vw badge on, have metal clips so no protection when attaching to the car and they suite.......polo, golf, scirocco, passat blah blah blah. I have fitted excellent subtle ones to mk3's before from vag with vw emblem on. Can you not get these for the raddo? Im picking up the fronts tom so ill see what they are, but suspect another pair of the same. Anyone help. DONT WORRY, I AM PREPARED FOR A HAIL OF SARCASTIC ABUSE ON THIS SUBJECT :oops:

I'll buy one if we do a group buy? Will be having my bonnet and a few dinks done, and want to keep it that way. They look wierd but then id just have it on for the work trip. Plus im just about to post a mudflap question so im very wierd anyway..........

Making up for my harsh words, spanked her vento vr all day, polished everything. finishing touch, grabbed a can of back to black to do the big plastic sill strips. Did one side, thought it smelt funny and realised id sprayed the sills and the bottoms of her doors with a can of clear cellulose lacquer........my statement stands, but from her now i think!

I spanked the wifes vento VR this weekend, so to speak. Anyway after a full on 6 hour washing, polishing, window rubbers, glass polish etc etc etc (i spend at least double this one mine), I grabbed an old can of back to black to do those big plastic sill covers down the side. Did one side and thought chr.st this stuff stinks, followed by a hot flush and pounding heart to the realisation that A. It was a can of cellulose clear laquer. B. My wife is probably even more an.l about her car than me, and thats saying something. I'm just trying to find the right momment to tell her the bottoms of her doors look a "bit funny". Funny thing is I was washing it for her to make up for our argument last week, the one that broke my engine mount. Think ill be working late this week.............

So you work on other peoples cars 2cc. mmm, Trowbridge, not that far from me.............lol! Its because they are great cars, having said that if people wer'nt so helpful on here i would have sold mine already. This site being superb has a lot to answer for!

Am I too late for this deal? Although my bonnet survived my engine mount failure, I've only just realised it has terminally modified my "green" ind kit (yes i know they are rubbish anyway). Its actually ripped the rubber engine end off the cone! I must have done that jubilee up rather tight! ??

I use M&Ms in Aldebury. I work in Salisbury and its about 2 miles from the centre of the town heading towards southampton. One of my front wheels is definately sticking out from the arch and the other isnt!! I assume it must be the camber. Talking about 1-2 cm and hard to spot with the naked eye but one looks like it has a spacer, but hasnt!! I know there is small adjustment under the front for the track width so it may be just that. or my wings are different for ref points!!

mmmmm, thought my car was a good buy and got bored looking so just got it. First thing i thought get it 100% then do a few choice mods to get it exactly how a want it. Getting 100% is a long road though! First thing day one i thought lets pop to vag and get a new heater control panel as it wasnt lighting up and a couple of settings didnt work, the quote i got for that quickly bounced me in to reality. £40 for a rubber hose, and £30 for a plug spanner? The latter being an unbeleivable ripper for a peice of tin with 2 groves in the end! Think i might start making those myself actually. Still I love the car, and i've only just started so much more pain to come im sure...........

Cheers Dav, i thought it was going to show a cam sensor but it didnt. Ill count it as a result as this sounds even cheaper! A very rare thing from the stealers! Must be the only part on the car under £100 from what i've seen so far.

Cheers Kev, any idea on price/main dealer only etc? Could this have been caused by the induction kit? I assumed it was that little metal reed in the bit the induction kit clamps onto! What does that do? Wish I lived next door to stealth, i could drop it off for a week and work out how to pay for it later! bit of a treck for me, but lots of little specialist things are starting to mount up now im getting used to her, including the camber! No point getting anyone local to look at that, I know it will come back worse, been there before!

Wuw, lots to think about then! I am saving for a CDA, i know the one i've got is pap. I wrote it down, they said it was the air intake temp and it was 217c not 237, apologies. Make any sense?
