Savy about 5 our of 10. Patient 10 out of 10. It is a sod of a job. but well worth doing yourself. Make sure you get a VAG matrix and not a GSF one as it is a job you will only want to do once.
-
Copper or a plastic piece are fine.
-
22mm pipe and a couple of Julilee clips should be fine. If you are being super effecient then a Ubend with 2 short bits of pipe coming out of it would be ideal. But either way it saves any more leakages, and as the coolant runs around the matrix at all times, turning your heater onto cold will not prevent scalded legs when it lets go.

Hmm I may have misinterpreted your post. Do you mean the light that illuminates the green plastic arround the ciggie lighter? or the mini torch that replaces the ciggie lighter as found in Toerags and Cayennes?
-
It is not the same fitment, More recent ciggie lighters have more girth. The only way of getting it to work is by changing the whole unit.

Cheers chap.

Cool, Many thanks. Looks like a sale then.

Does anyone know of a good forum for Mk4 Fiestas? A chap at work has had nothing but grief from his car. Apart from the obvious, I have suggested he try a forum for help rather than keep outlaying cash to a Mechanic. Ive tried Google but the forums all seem empty with loads of unanswered threads. Anyone got any good sites?

Just what I wanted to hear. Many thanks, Just for info though. Does anyone know what grade I should be using?
-
My girlfriends car displayed its first ever problem today. The oil warning light came on. What grade oil does it need. I searched in the handbook and it came up with lots of different grades I've never heard of? Would a glug of my Synta Silver 10-40 do?

I hope the FPR makes the difference at the top end mate.

Lisa, Its good to see that you have found the enthusiasm again. I know from experience what it is like to fall out of love with the C, Nice one for kicking its a$$ and getting back into it. -
Hmm, I looked at a respray, I would say a full spray is upwards of 2k and that does not include replacing all the seals that split when you take the windscreen out ect.

Have a gander at this, 2959661446_ca6d941d7d_o.jpg[/attachment:36cr5dmz] Just out of curiosity I called Racoon Wraps who did the job to ask what it would cost to do a Corrado. http://www.raccoon.co.uk/homepage.php They called me back the next day and went through a thorough list of posibilities. He quoted me £1500 + VAT for a flat colour, and it has a 3 year warranty but typicaly lasts for 7 years. They can do any colour or range of colours, price dependant. I wanted Matt Black. The vinyl can be removed without harm to the paint. I asked about paint preperation and what sort of condition would the paint need to be in, and was advised that it could be done to most surfaces, even on Primer and even mask small stone chips. Things have changed for me, so I cant afford to go through with it, But he was a really sound bloke so I kind of feel guilty. If anyone likes the idea give em a bell.

I found squirting some wd40 down the handbrake cable tube helped prevent sticking.

Is your Corrado the most unreliable car you've ever owned?

Ive held off posting this because in prospective, to date, my car has cost me very little. Ive had her over 3 years, and apart from initial coolant issues where I changed radiator, coolant pump, and aux coolant pump, heater matrix then a full set of samco's. I have had very few other problems that cannot be attributed to wear and tear of a 15 year old car. -
