-
it was a good show for the amount of time I spent there, did 493 miles travelling from the n-east,got carried away on the motorway and ended up in glasgow  turned roun and set of back to kames, got 10 mile from the place and me mk1 went onto 3 pots(duff plug)limped to kames hoping to get a plug of one of the stalls or entrants and not a one on site  so stayed for about an hour an a half,me mate phoned me with the nearest halfords which was in ayr so limped there on 3 pots got some plugs and she was back on 4 pots :D got back to kames and they were locking the gates, ohwell it was a good day out some awsome roads and I got home which is what matters, next year ile be prepered and hopefully get on the track

[quote="kevhaywire Mk1, fantastic, looks excellent. Well done. I wouldn't mind some more details if possible as I've yet to get round to doing mine. Did you use the Corrado or Passat motor? Did you have any difficulties getting the sliding curtain to work properly? Lastly, where did you source the Passat parts? Thanks Kev 94 VR6 yer I just bolted the complete assembly out of a passat,£50 from one of the local breakers, used the corrado motor but passat is the same, just be carefull with the sunroof chassis as they are slightly different between the earlier and late(92 on?)as the motors are not interchangable, early motor has 3 wires late 6?,the only fiddly part of the job is removing the headlining, took me about 3hrs start to finish, good luck
-
I carnt see it being any faster as they use the same motor, yep the shutter is from the passat and is also the same colour as the corrado headlining
-
yep as above the passat roof mech is the same, fitting the glass roof makes a big difference imo to the interior of the corrado, gets rid of the dull interior feel, heres a couple of pics of one I done earlier,£50 top tip in golf mag
-
I fitted the complete roof assembly out of a passat including the blind without any problems to my mates corrado, even got a top tip £50 voucher from the golf mag
-
I fitted one to my 2ltr 16v mk1 golf(ks3 fueling&ign)fitting was straight forward and I gained 10bhp bottomend, ive spoke to other people who fitted them and they confirmed that they dont give you any more power topend,I was`nt impressed with the fitting kit(cable ties)for £500 ide expect somthing a little bit better,I made my own mounting brackets, apparently if your ecu part number ends in a B it will run u/l fuel,if your running a std eng just go for the ign model ks1?
-
just a quick note on the above mod, check the number of wires on the motor,as the earlier motors(3 wires) dont fit the later frame
