Out of interest, how do you got about finding one? -
Has anyone moved the heater controls in a late shape vr6 to replace the ashtray, to leave a large gap above. Im sure ive seen a thread on it, but i cant find it now.
-
no, but id have some off you if you can!

Does boring the engine that much not cause problems with engine structural stability? isnt it weekening the engine?
-
Out of interest, whats the most you could get/has been got from a N/A VR6 engine??
-
sand the leds with fine sand paper and leave the orginal white filter in as well as the colour that works quite well
-
is that bthe standard blubs behind a blue filter or they LEDs?
-
To reverse the polarising lense youll need a stanley knife blade and a hair dryer to heat up it up while you slice the film off. fairly easy. Also you need to get hold of some quite dark red film (ive still not found one that im happy with) to light and it just looks tacky. Also some led replacements for the crappy bulbs.

Ive been done like this, and it is 3points and a £60 fine (in sheff anyway), but its def worth appealing when the first letter comes through.. b*stards

Think ive seen that one round my neck of the woods reg is B3 EVL though, dark blue vr, v nice. -
i seeee... cheers. So those wheels totally wouldnt fit! haha aww :(
-
i think i get it.... so if a wheel had an ET of 0 then the mating face of the hub would be exactly in line with the centre of the wheel??
-
I thought ET was the offset from the centre line of the wheel??
-
I know theres loads of posts similar to this... sorry! The standard vr6 speedlines are 15" ET43 and 6.5" wide (165mm). right. the wheels im looking at are 17" ET35 and 7.5" or 8" wide (190 or 205mm), but require a PCD adapter that is 20mm, so the new ET is 55, right?? Am i right in thinking that when theyre on the wheels will only stick out a further 12mm than the speedlines?? Also, are 20mm adapters safe? doesnt seem like a lot to hold the wheels on!
-
Sorry to have totally hijacked this thread as well! oops :$
-
I think i do, as im looking at some merc monoblocks (even tho there 112 PCD) seen 25mm spacers but still think itd be really tight...
-
the advantage of coilovers is that there is more room for bigger/wider wheels??
-
ahh i see, excuse my ignorance, but are the differences between that setup and e.g. konigsport coilovers?
-
Could be the accelerator position sensor, thats what my local stealer told me could be the prob when mine kept coming on..

Other jobs worth doing while replacing valve stems on vr6?
DaveVR6 replied to DaveVR6's topic in Engine Bay
How difficult a job is it? Is it worth getting done professionally? -
Hardly noticable while round town, but when you stamp on the accertor and move quickly up through the gears make s a very satisfing sound! Was worried mine would be too loud, but its not, its as quite or as loud as you want it to be really.
-
My VR6 has done 90k and now reguarly puffs out clouds of blue/gray smoke when quickly accerating, which I hear is quite a common VR6 issue and needs the valve stems replacing. Just wondering what other jobs are worth doing while the engine is open (performance-wise or just general maintenance) ?? Ta

Will FK Konigsports from a g60 fit a vr6?? venom sell them as two seperate products but there both described exactly the same and cost exactly the same.
-
Does this need to be done for a VR6? Got new plugs exact same make (NGK) have heard that on some cars you need to set the gap, is this the same for VRs and if so what is the gap setting? ta
